Having read the 7 pages of this thread in it's entirety it appears that it is not just muscle that is more dense than fat :) Tongue in cheek only. Aimed at humour, not offense.:flowerforyou:

This is a goat curry recipe I just loaded to the Recipe blog. You could easily replace the goat meat with brisket. (but try it with goat when you can afford some. It is wonderful) Goat, cabbage and kidney bean curry This simple and tasty goat curry is mildly spiced, low in fat, high in protein and only takes 30 minutes…

I can read your mind. You have just made a new friend. :flowerforyou:

OK Tinkle bell. I have to get back to work anyway. Love from Australia.

That gives me paws for thought.

That's a rather catty comment

Even out of focus you have great lines

I must have had too much to drink last night. You are all out of focus.

You'd probably weigh less if you took off the tiger suit.....

I lost 10kg (22lbs) in 10 weeks just using the MFP tools and calorie counting with some walking thrown in and an occasional pool walking session at the local community pool. I have just joined a gym in the last week and my results are accelerating but it isn't essential to do gym work. Got a bike?

If you don't have access to tofu shirataki noodles will just using tofu instead provide the same result?

I can't comment on the flavour as I haven't tried it myself but there are 30 calories in 1 serving of Maple Grove Farms Sugar Free Low Calorie Maple Flavor Syrup. Check out the link. http://www.fatsecret.com/calories-nutrition/maple-grove-farms/sugar-free-low-calorie-maple-flavor-syrup

I couldn't agree more. Cinammon and a low cal sweetener would make a great flavour addition.

I also use whole wheat flour now (I mill my own at home with the world's best kitchen tool and diet aid, the Thermomix  ) and I like the textural change it adds. As a replacement for the milk a no fat runny natural yoghurt also takes out calories and adds flavour. On the weekend I experimented with making almond…

Thanks Jayne. Nice to have encouragement from a fellow West Ozzie. :) Good to see we are almost at the same point in our journey. I joined Lord's Gym in Subiaco today. Starting to feel I can branch out with exercise beyond extended pool walking.

23 lb (10.5kg) so far and my granddaughter turns 2 on March 31. She weighs 13kg so my next goal is to have dropped by 13kg by her birthday so when I pick her up and get puffed carrying her around I will remember that only 13 weeks earlier I weighed her and my combined weight by myself. great motivation.

I am conflicted here. As a person who has been overweight since the age of 9 and morbidly obese for the last 10 years (now having lost 22lb in 9 weeks. yay me!) I want plenty of positive messages about good health and healthy eating. At the same time I don't want people ridiculed or belittled for being overweight. Having…

Made them last night for my wife who has chocolate withdrawal mid day and they taste great and she liked them a lot (as did I). I only had sugar though and next time will try banana as the sweetener to reduce the calories. we aren't much into alternative manufactured sweeteners. will add cocoa powder to make then…

I kind of agree but I have to say my number one motivator is me, followed a close second by my wife and the friends commentary is the icing on the cake. It's support but not the main contributor to my ongoing commitment and motivation.

I don't know if you have it where you are but we have a product available called Mountain Bread. It is low fat and a bit like pita and comes in spare sheets. Cut it into triangles and bake and it makes a great chip to dip into salsa.
-
Have also used shortbread as the base.

Water walking is not as energetic as water jogging so the calorie calculations will not be accurate. If you want the most accurate method for calculating the calories burned walking in water the formula is: In lbs = weight x 0.9 calories = calories burned in 30 minutes. Example: 200lbs x 0.9 = 180 calories burned. 45…

I also have difficulty with drinking straight tap water. I buy mineral water. The taste is tio my liking and I have the added benefit of taking in additional minerals.

Aqua aerobics and aqua walking are both low impact as the water provides flotation, taking weight off knees. A heated pool will also provide a soothing for muscles. stay in the water for 15 minutes after exercising and you don't need to do warm down exercises.
