Thanks! I have both of them already and am trying to decide which to commit to for January (or if I should just mix it up). I have seen some really inspiring before and after pics of the 30 day shred but not as many of the 21 day fix. I have never gotten past level two of the shred without getting hurt or sick (not always…

That is great progress!

Wow! That is a big difference in one month. Great job!

I like Crystal Light pure and True Lemon/True Lime drink packets. They have no artificial flavors, preservatives or sweeteners. The True Lime also has no artificial colors. I drink mostly water, but like to have one of these once in awhile.

You look great! I am 5' as well and love to see pics from people my height. Congrats!

I have four kids and lost the weight I gained in pregnancy by the time each child was one without much effort. Keeping it off was the hard part. I breastfed all of the kids and I think that my problem was that I could eat quite a bit while the babies were young (similar to how I ate when pregnant and was gaining) and still…

Awesome results! I am starting a challenge group on Monday. Hope my results are as good as yours!

Are you counting calories or paying attention to macros? Or just winging it and eating "reasosnably"?
-
You look great! I can definitely tell a difference.
-
Wow! Can you share what exercises you did or if you followed any specific diet plan? My worst trouble spot is my belly. Yours looks great!

Thanks for the inspiration! It is amazing how much difference 30 lbs (or so) can make!
-
Thanks for sharing! You all look great! I am barely 5' tall so any weight gain shows quickly on me.

There is plenty of research out there that shows that for many people, a calorie is not just a calorie. And even if weight loss is the only goal, health is also important to me. I do not believe that for most people just eating smaller portions of the same junk foods they used to eat is the right answer. To each their…

I saw the show and am thinking about doing it. It is actually less restrictive than the Whole 30 or eating very strict paleo, IMO. The OP said you have to "cut out carbs" but that isn't completely true. You are only allowed 1/2 cup of brown rice a day but you can get carbs in other foods (fruit, veggies, yogurt). I would…

Why only 600-1000 calories?
-
Well said. OP, you look great! I am about 4'11" and can definitely not eat that much. I am 38, have four kids, and am not nearly as active as you are.

I was going to suggest egg cups as well. I like more veggies in mine, but my kids prefer just eggs and maybe a little cheese (I'm just starting to dabble in paleo). I figure that it's a start and at least it isn't a pop tart. :)

They can't have any type of nut. :)

These are great ideas! I've been reading about paleo/whole 30 and would like to give it a try but am really struggling with making good choices due to my work environment. I am typically gone from morning until late in the evening and have to eat in my car. I do not know what to bring with me for lunch and dinner. Some…

I recently read "The UltraMind Solution" by Mark Hyman (author of the Ultra Simple solution mentioned above) and thought it was really informative as to how much our diets affect our entire body, mind and all. It is not just about the good stuff you put in but the bad stuff you eliminate from your diet.

Great work, everyone! You all look fabulous!! Like others, I never know where to start. Also, are you doing any specific ab work? Thanks!

I would love to hear more of an explanation from the experts regarding their rationale for classifying obesity as a disease. Could be just so that it has a higher classification of diagnosis, which means that insurance would cover treatment for the obesity itself, not just for the health issues it causes down the road. I…

My initial thoughts on the definition of obesity being a disease is "What a load of BS." But then someone else (who thought it was a good thing) explained that the change in definition would mean that there would be more medical/psychological help for people who are obese. Overall, I think that is a good thing although I…

I am reading the book right now (just got it from the library after a long wait). I think the info regarding "diabesity" and the connection between blood sugar, insulin, diabetes AS WELL AS other health problems to be intriguing. If nothing else, this book will help you understand how these are all connected and why it is…

I'm going to be in a similar work situation. I am starting a new job where I will be on the road most of the day. When I had this type of job previously I gained 20 lbs due to developing bad eating habits (stopping at the gas station to go to the bathroom and buying a cookie and soda; Dollar menu at McD's, etc). I am…

I would guess that your body media is wrong, then. Although I know that if I don't eat very healthy I retain a lot of water and may even gain while still being under my cals. Like I said, I do believe that for some people the quality of cals makes a difference. Maybe you are sensitive to some of the foods you are eating or…

If you can't get to 1500 calories because you aren't hungry, how did you gain weight in the first place? Not being snarky there. Sincerely am curious as to why you think you became overweight in the first place if you didn't overeat. Some people will say the type of calories don't matter, others say it definitely does. I…

I am nursing my 4th child who is 19 months old. I have never heard that going below pre-pregnancy weight can cause drop in milk supply and honestly can't think of a biological reason why that would be true. With all of my children my milk supply dropped at about 3 months (went from oversupply to normal) and then at around8…

I would go by body fat percentage rather than weight (or at least put more emphasis on the BF%). As I write this, I wonder if there is any data that shows that being at a higher weight but healthy BF% is just as good (or not) as being a lower weight and healthy BF%? Anyway, I agree that everyone is different. You may find…

This is the motivation and support board? Not tech support? I' m confused about the previous post.
