  • I'm Megan, and I'm currently stuck in Utah. I love to bike, but unfortunately my "real" bike is between houses right now. I do, however, have my stationary bike and that has been my trusty friend since February. I had a few injuries earlier this year that stopped me from working out regularly, but I'd love to get back into…
  • Sign me up for 50, please. :)
  • I'd love to do it!
  • I've been getting the same. I think it might be a helpful tool for beginners and those who aren't aware of certain properties of food. An option to turn it off might be nice, but I'm personally leaving mine on. I can either say, "Thanks app, I got this!" or feel scolded/encouraged into making better choices (which works…
  • Two people told me how slim I looked in an outfit I've worn countless times before. :)
  • I used to check every single day, and it was starting to make me feel really discouraged whenever I made no progress. I have a strict time to only weigh in on Wednesdays now, and I've managed to keep up with it really well. It's always so tempting to peek, but I love the wait sometimes. :)
  • You have to do what is right for you. That is the only way you're going to accomplish your goals. Do it smartly, but do it for you. That being said, Slim-Fast always made me sick in the past...physically. As in ten minutes after consuming it, I found out what it was like to vomit through my nose. That is -not- an…
  • I hit mine after April of last year. I lost 50lbs, and ended up losing motivation for some reason. I managed to only gain about 5-10lbs, and lose them over and over again, then gain them back, etc. I ended up doubling down on eating right, logging, and exercising, and I'm nearly at 50lbs lost again. I got serious again…
  • Uggggggggh. I live here (in UT) and this is pretty much how it goes. There are a lot of people that are accepting of 'outsiders' and yet there's still this feeling of a Puritan community when stuff like this happens. Since I don't have kids, feel free to breeze past this, but for real...parents, -you- are in charge of your…
  • I don't think so, personally. I've been in a long distance relationship (1,000+ miles) for six years. We have missed contacting each other during the day maybe a handful of times during that entire stretch, and those were typically because of family emergencies or traveling. A good relationship, by my definition, needs…
  • I started out with a BMI of 41.3 and my BMI is currently 35. I figure it will take me at least until 2015 (likely the end) to reach my goal weight, which will put me at a healthy BMI of 23.6.
  • I'm currently unmedicated and have hypothyroidism as well. I've lost over 40lbs and maintained that loss over two years. Feel free to add me. :)
  • It depends on your individual situation. I have an unmedicated thyroid disorder, so I've been able to lose over 40 pounds and maintain that lose over two years, but as you can see by my ticker I still have quite a ways to go. The time will pass anyway. Spend it being good to your body.
  • Honestly, based on everything you've said, I'd end things if I were you. There's no sense in wasting your time (and his) when you both have different goals. He's 40. He knows what he wants, and does not want. You also know what you want, and don't want. The two of you do not match up in some very important basics about…
  • I've kept 40+ pounds off over the past year. I follow my MFP calories as close as possible. I started out eating 1800+ and am now at 1600+. When I ate 1200 or below, I lost weight faster, but gained it back just as fast. Slow and steady is proving to be the key for me.
  • I'm still working on it. I started at 280lbs. I'm hoping to be to one-derland by the end of this year. :) Feel free (anyone) to add me as a friend if you're interested.
  • Six. It will be great for the rest of fall/winter!
  • I'm currently a size 18, and started January 2, 2012. I've not lost much this year, otherwise I feel like I would be closer to my goal. :)
  • I've just started using it this week, and have seen a three pound loss so far. Mind you, I've also cut out soda. So far I am cautiously impressed! I mix one scoop of powder with a cup of skim milk, and add about 1-2 tablespoons of peanut butter, and then some cinnamon. Fair warning, I -hated- it when I mixed it with…
  • You cannot understand how upset I am that I don't have cable.
  • It took me about six months to lose thirty pounds, if I remember correctly. That was with eating within calories, but still eating fast food/drinking soda, and working out every day.
  • Buffalo is delicious -and- supposedly healthier than chicken. I'm in!
  • Feel free to add me! I'm 24 years old, 5'9", 235lbs, and I'm hoping to get down to at least 170lbs. :)
  • Mine had been open for a very long time, but as I began to slack off with my goals, I also found myself not logging honestly because I was afraid of being judged. I have it set to closed until I can get myself back on track with logging, and logging honestly.

  • I feel the same way. I am on this journey for myself, but when has anyone not wanted, or even needed, a little self-esteem booster every now and then?
  • I totally feel your frustration. My family typically only brings up my weight loss when I mention that I've reached a certain goal (ex. 25 or 50 pounds lost...so not often). However, they constantly go on and on about how wonderful my sister looks and how skinny she is now...even though we've lost the same amount of…
  • I'm twenty-four years old, and still have a little over 50 pounds to lose...maybe more depending on how things go. I would really love some more friends who are active on the site to help keep me motivated. :)
  • You could just be bored at work, too. I tend to eat the little treats if they're around and I've got nothing better to do for a moment. I do my best to try and substitute that with a big gulp of water though. :)
  • Thank you for all of the great advice, everyone! I'll definitely keep an eye out on and try to find some stores like that in my area. I wasn't aware that they had places like that nowadays. I'll be really interested to see what they say when I finally find one. You have all been a huge help!
