  • I've been doing IF since October of 2018. Mostly a lazy IF, I started being more strict with it in April. Q: how do you know how many calories to eat within that window? Is it my normal "diet" calorie amount just in a smaller window, or is the point not to "diet" I maintain CICO during my Fasting window, that said I only…
  • I have PCOS. I've tried the calories in -calories out = losing and it didn't work, at all, for me. For my body, there is a lot more too that math problem. My WL isn't any faster then before, but is faster then other attempts simply because its working. Before Keto/LCHF I was eating sugars breakfast cereals, sugary milk,…
  • The secret is finding a process that works for you. For me that is a low-carb/high fat diet. As a 32 year old with PCOS the Calories in V Calories out didn't work for me. I had to cut out added sugars, which while initially difficult, now I do not miss them. I also found and exercise style I like, weight lifting. I've…
  • I was diagnosed with PCOS about 2 years ago..maybe longer.. anyway. That first year I busted my *kitten* on Metformin to lose the weight and maybe lost about 10lbs, which was all probably water weight. I trained for a marathon, I was unemployeed and spend about 2 hours at the gym just doing cardio, because EVERYONE said…
  • So the math is like this TOTAL CARBS - FIBER = NET CARBS. The net carbs are what counts... Sometimes it might be TOTAL CARBS - FIBER - SUGAR ALCOHOLS = Net carbs, but that really dpeneds on each person. Some people are affected by sugar alcohols. I don't think the fiber powder may count as the fiber in math, since I've…
  • I'm down 15lbs and the husband is down 25lbs since Jan 1. I love LCHF. I'll probably never go back to the "recommended" full carb amount. I expect to probably stay LC forever. I love the feeling of LCHF. I'm so much more alert. So much more energy! The clear skin and better sleep totally helps too. Best thng, don't even…
  • Hi! I started Keto on January 1st! Feel free to friend me!
  • Hi! I was diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago after I spend 5 days a week at the gym and eating the "right" foods. I went to a doctor to get my thyroid checked because I thought I might have cushings. I tired the meds but they didn't help and tired to still lose weight the "right" way ( lower calories in + more calories…
  • I'm bringing Bacon Wrapper Beef dogs to ours, along with a cheese platter (but won't eat the crackers). Might bring some Guac as well, not sure. I'm hungry thinking about it now!
  • Actually not really. I eat the right macros and make sure I get enough protein. I haven't lost any muscle mass.
  • Exercise isn't where you lose weight. It's all in the diet, so if your diet is full of sugar/carbs you are not going to see a lot of changes. If you lose 1lb a week and everything just happens to go right and work for you. Then 200 to 170 should be 30 weeks. 170 to 150 is 20 weeks. It really won't happen like that though.…
  • I am for as small as possible carbs, 20g net on a bad day, 10g net on a good day.
  • I'm on a low carb/high fat diet (Keto) and I have not had my normal 2-4pm slump. I've found I'm going really strong all the way to about midnight!
  • Request sent! I'm also Low carb!
  • First, welcome. Second, as the others have said, loss won't happen by just exercise alone. It all comes from the diet, it really does. Example: I restarted my diet on Jan 1st. I weights 225. 16 days later I'm 215.4. I've exercised 0 times. I go home, I play video games and read from about 6pm to midnight then I go to bed.…
  • Are you following a plan? Do you have guidelines? Congrats on the stopping smoking, that's a big deal.
  • I'm on a low carb/high fat diet. (<30g carbs) and Avocados are a great source of good fat! I eat lots of high fat/full fat products and cook in animal fats/bacon grease. I eat like 4-6 slices of bacon a night! lol
  • So, its a computer model based on the whole calories in-calories out= weight loss and that doesn't work for everyone. For me, I've found that it doesn't matter how many calories I eat, unless I'm eating under 20g of carbs I won't lose anything. Funn enough on the 1st when I started Keto it said I would be 215 in 5 weeks.…
  • I'm LCHF (low carb/high fat) so calories isn't a main concern for me, but I do drink deit soda on occasion because I need that carbonation feeling. I used to drink regular but now diet is almost too sweet
  • Mine is 1200-1300 but I didn't use MFP to get my numbers I used this: http://keto-calculator.ankerl.com/
  • I reach for my favorite fat bombs : http://screwedonstraight.net/keto-diet-peanut-butter-cup-fat-bombs/ I make mine smaller then in that recipe so I get to have 2. Sometimes I have 2 to up my fat content. They are a wonderfully bitter/sweet taste!
  • I weigh myself every morning, after the bathroom but before anything goes in my mouth. I have an official weigh in once a week were I take my measurements and record them along with my weight. I do it that was because I'm curious and that way only 1 number counts.
  • I'm not on Atkins, but I am on Ideal Protein which is basically the same thing: LCHF. I'm on day 2 and going strong. The cravings are had but my willpower is always the strongest in the beginning which helps! Anyone have some suggestions for LCHF groups?
  • My mom lost about 47 lbs in 4 months, and if she stays on her current rate she'll probably be about 60-70lbs down at 6 months. She's basically doing keto (which I've just started) with no cardio but some weight training. My goal is to be 60lbs lighter by August. I would really look into Keto for your goal, I'd also look…
  • My mom was the same way and so am I. We are both doing a LCHF diet (I just started where she's done 4 months). She went from been a junk food junkie like me to completely cutting it all out. Now she occasionally has something but has said that she just doesn't crave it anymore. Her trick? She basically 'detoxed' from it…
  • I'm in the same boat. I don't want kids, just trying to lose the weight/have a normal body
  • I was following a Jenny Craig diet for about 6 months eating 1200 calories. I worked out at the Gym about 3 times a week for about 40 minutes (walking 2 miles and some weight machines). I didn't lose a single pound. Well, that' not wholey true. I lost 3lbs my first week and gained it back and then got stuf in a yo-yo…
  • I'm glad I'm not the only one that doesn't like it. Sometimes I talk back to it, and call it names, lol
  • McDonald's makes me ill, even the smell of it. Chipotle is my devil. I had it yesterday, but that's the first time in about a month. Instead of once a week I've cut it to when I've been craving for a few days.
