Hi everyone, I haven't posted yet for Otober but I'm in! My October goal is 45 miles. So far... Miles so far -15 Miles to go -35 Yikes! Better get going!!:smile:

Miles today: 2 Miles so far this month: 32 Well I definitely won't make my goal but I will keep at it for the rest of the month and hope for better results in October. October is renewal for me, back up to 3 miles per day (hopefully) and totally committing to diligent month of calorie counting!:smile:

So I missed a few days of walking due to illness and a few days of posting too. So I have resumed my walking with only 2 miles per day the last few days but here's where I am :smile: Miles today - 2 Miles so far this month - 30

Hi, I do the first three miles of Walk Slim 4 Really Big Miles which comes out to 38 minutes and according to my heart rate monitor I burn anywhere from 302 to 343 calories depending on how much effort I put in. I got a FitBit in January and I'm really not thrilled with it. I like using my heart rate monitor instead. It calculates the calories so each day I try to beat my most calories burned for say 3 miles or 4 miles whatever I do. I think there are too many "steps" that don't get counted with the FitBit, but it totally…

The Leslie Sanson videos and Jillian videos are about $9 - $10 each at Wal-mart or Amazon. On Amazon you can rent some for a week to see what you like. That's how I did the first part of Jillian's 30DS. I'll have to look into the Jamie Eason, I know the friend of a fried that loves it!!

Try the Leslie Sansone walking DVD's. They really work. The one I like the best is Walk Slim - Fas & Firm - 4 Really Big Miles. I started with the first mile and then I was hooked. I now do the first three miles every day! You can adjust it to how intense you feel you need it by adding hand weights or upper body movements.…

Wow!!! This is great, I'm in!! Love Leslie's DVD's. For February I will try to add some of her toning workouts to the 3 miles per day/5 days per week that I do. Any suggestions on the best toning workouts would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, definitely get a hrm. I have a New Balance N4. It was about $60 at Target. Works great and very easy to use. Liked it so much I bought it for my daughter too!:smile:

Yes! Finally able to kick it up to 3 miles per day Monday through Friday. I so wanted to add that extra mile. Also, bought a heart rate monitor and love it!! Can now really tell how many extra calories are burned during workout. I was just logging as 2 miles at 4 mph but with the Leslie Sansone dvd it comes out to more…
