  • Check out www.c25k.com and it will link you to the cool running training program. It slowly helps you work up to running for 30 minutes non-stop. I am near the end of the program and run for 28 minutes at a time. Six months ago I would thought it crazy but now I enjopy it... when I get done running that is.
  • GREAT JOB! That is so great. You truely are an inspiration. You are looking like a new person. Keep it up!
  • I am in Portland today. I will let you know how it goes and post a link to photos or just put some in my profile pictures.
  • Good luck and welcome back. I hope you reach your goals and have fun doing it!
  • Welcome, I hope you find the support here that you need to reach your goals. I have found this community very helpful. For me it has been a big help and has kept me motivated. Good luck.
  • Hi and welcome. It has been 3 years since I was last in Ireland for a friend’s wedding. I use the calorie counting like a game to see what I can get away with. Of course trying to fit in a full Irish breakfast might be a challenge.
  • Yahoo! free stuff good. Thanks!
  • This sounds good. What is the serving size?
  • I had the same thoughts when I hit week 3. I just went with it but felt like I was cheating. My thoughts are it was a little break both physical and mental before hitting week 4. To compansate on week 3, because I run in the morning, I would walk 3 miles each evening.
  • I voted yes. I feel any consumable item listed for purchase should at minimum, have the calories viewable in plain sight. Yes there might be the cost of new menus or stickers for marques, but the cost of health care in the long run and health insurance for obese employees should out way the cost. Of course having the…
  • I too use the Cool Running program. I doubled the first two weeks till I became more comfortable with running. I have been using a GymBoss (www.gymboss.com) to vibrate in my hand when I need to walk or run so I can listen to music and not have to track how many times I have changed.
  • Bassment Jaxx
  • I try to eat healthy things like fruit. But I do love me some Skinny Cow products. LOL
  • I use to use it for rum and diet cokes till I watched "Sweet Misery: A Poisoned World". Now I try to not eat or drink anything with Aspertame. I switched to drinks that use Splenda till that is found to be bad for me.
  • I did not do too bad and lost 1 lb. over the weekend. Yeah. I hope everyone else had good results.
  • lol I also weigh in on Friday morning. BUT I am in. 1) I will not go overboard. 2) I will brisk walk for 60 minutes each day (about 3m./5k) 3) If I eat out I will keep to the light side and eat ONLY at restaurants that have nutrition menus to make better choices.
  • LOL Vegetables? Oh ya those things. Stick to it, you are going to be weekend motivation to eat well this weekend. Thanks!
  • I second that. I totally support you. I started the C25K about four weeks ago, but I am taking it easy by repeating every week. I am trying to get ready for the Warrior Dash. Not to win, but to do better if I did not work out. Here are two things I have done that seem to have really made it easier. 1) I went to a good shoe…
  • I think I will have to try that, the wife was saying the other day she wanted a Quiche. Thanks for the recipe!

  • Welcome Lacey. Great job on losing 21 lbs already. It sounds like you have made some great but challenging life style changes. Hang in there; I know it only gets better one day at a time. Whenever I feel down I scan the forums and always find inspiration. And if your 2 year old is anything like mine, keeping active is a…
  • I think you have covered the best idea. If I am going to a restaurant that has an online nutrition tool or menu, I plan my meal before heading out. I find it easier to eat well and stick to the calorie amounts I should. For example, Red Robin has a nice tool where you can play with the items on your burger and even remove…
  • I have never ran it before, but I am signed up for the Warrior Dash on September 12th (the 11th was full). I am so excited and talked a friend into joining me. Of course the wife thinks I am crazy but is supportive. Can we talk about getting ready for it and stuff? I am curious what others are doing to get ready. For my…
  • One thing to keep in mind, uncooked rice and cooked rice measure different. "Standard cooking for rice is two to one." http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_many_cups_of_uncooked_rice_does_it_take_to_make_1_and_one_half_cups_of_cooked_rice
