Hi MeMe, welcome! I was diagnosed with PCOS in my 20's as well and weight has always been a factor for me. Through all my experiences so far, I would definitely classify myself as insulin resistant and extremely sensitive to carbs and sugar. The roller coaster for me can be quite severe with cravings and being out of…

And don't be scared of FAT! I eat 5% carb, 65% fat and 30% protein. If you reduce carbs, the fat keeps you satiated. If you find yourself sensitive to grains and sugars that trigger cravings, then this is the way to go. Research it for yourself.

I'm starting this week too. I bought the set last year but haven't done the complete program until now.

I do primal and low carb as well. Years ago I did Atkins and it was a great introduction to my current way of eating, but I will not touch the packaged "low carb" crap. Sugar alcohols make me very sick.

Exactly!! I feel the same way about this.

I love Bikram yoga! Don't worry about the calorie burn too much. To be on the safe side, estimate low. Enjoy the challenge and have fun! :-)

I made it without lemon and it still turned out great! I topped it with berries and almond meal after it cooled in the fridge. Just like a mini cheesecake :-)

It's easy to criticize another way of eating just because you don't have all the facts or you disagree. The truth is that every BODY is different in how it processes fat loss. Some people are more sensitive to carbohydrates than others and find that limiting them finally yields good results. Whole foods with plenty of…

LOVE these muffins! It tastes like a treat to me and lots of fiber! Very filling too.

I did Atkins years ago and lost about 50lbs. I paid no attention to calories and only counted carbs. This time I only have 20lbs to lose and I plan on monitoring my calories as well. I'm curious if anyone else tracks calories as well.

I've been using Brad Pilon's Eat Stop Eat method since last May. I fast twice a week and now it seems like second nature. My issue was over eating once the fast ended and eating too much on the other days. I lost weight years ago on low carb and decided to incorporate the two. Fasting is much more than just weight…

Evening snacking is my major hurdle. I am giving myself a cut-off time of about 7:00pm for no more food. @swaymyway- Keep at it! I'm sure you will see a…

Our bodies were not designed to consume high quantities of sugar and handle the levels of stress we encounter in our technologically advanced culture. Carbohydrates are not evil. The real cause: too much food, lack of exercise and messed up hormones.

Yep, Leslie Sansone is great for beginning exercise. Some of the others mentioned might be a little intimidating at first. Leslie is very upbeat and positive for all ages and abilities. In time you will likely need something more challenging, but at first she is the best in my opinion.

I love cheese too. I stick with low fat shredded mozzarella for my egg white omelets. Otherwise I buy the cheese sticks that are pre-portioned.

PB or almond butter

Thanks! I bit the bullet and got them and so glad I did. I know I will have them for a very long time and weight training is going to bring me to my goals. It's an investment in yourself! Maybe save up for them?

Good for you!! Sometimes all it takes is a change in routine.

Awesome!! Thanks for sharing. I am so excited to start the program next week!!

Check out Brad Pilon's Eat Stop Eat. I bought the e-book actually and there is a ton of research. Well worth it to me. I'm on my 3rd fast and it's been very easy. You do not go an entire day without eating. It's a 24 hour fast so if I begin it at 7pm I can eat dinner the next day after 7pm. There are more benefits than…

I began practicing Bikram about 3 months ago. It's intense and challenging in a good way! Someone who is very fit will get challenged just as much as a beginner to exercise. My flexibility has increased tremendously. The breathing exercises oxygenate your blood, your spine will work towards proper alignment, and it is the…

Thanks everyone  I decided to put the scale away for a few more weeks and just keep at it! I am 5'4'', 28% body fat, currently 174lbs (so it says) and in a size 8 jean. I have never been in such a small size at that weight!

Thank you. I am after melting the fat so that is what matters to me but I was a bit shocked! They say it is hard for women to build muscle too so I didn't think it would happen that fast.
