You just described my situation. I'm older than you (54) but I was very similar to you. In grade school I was husky. In high school I played line (200 lb) but lost control in college. I've see-sawed between 285-310 for 30 years. My wife has lost 92 pounds by watching her food intake (no MFP) and exercising daily for over a…

How Cool Is THAT????

Man, that's incredible. I actually wept a little bit when I saw your pictures (my own failure for getting this way but happy or you) I'm older than you, 54, and I I've weighed between 290-310 for the last 25 years. I hate that I am so miserable with my weight even though I actually have a nice life. However, I'm sure that…

Diet soda does not contain fructose. Fructose is a simple sugar that contains calories. If you have a diet soda that contains fructose, it is impossible for it to have zero calories.

The weight for the entire package would be .97 pounds or 440 grams. The individual serving size and nutritional information per serving would be on a separate label. Common sense tells me that a boneless breast would weigh approximately 1/4 pound. Of course that can vary from serving to serving.

+1 so cool to hear your happiness at your victory. Keep it up sister!

I guess I need to rephrase my supposition. I have an insane obsession with food that I like! But, I've never obsessed about my next vegetable or legume meal...but of course..I've never had such a crazy thing...JK to the vegetarians on here. I have to stay at this with writing and reading success stories. Appreciate…

That is some very relateable stuff. You made the comment that you didn't feel stressed out because you were medicating with food. I don't feel stressed most of the time, so I'll have to see if not medicating with food allows some stresses and problems manifest themselves in my life. That's a great point and I appreciate…

I went back and added my binge day Friday. 2 meals and 1 snack added up to about 4500 calories. Whew! But, I'm following your advice and logging the bad with the good. No sense trying to delude myself!

Wow, these are some great posts. I really appreciate all the feedback. I particularly like the suggestions about posting even on bad days. I have to admit that if I start out with a healthy breakfast but lose it at lunch and then of course dinner, I wouldn't log those days. I'm going back to log my binge day just to see…

Yeah, one can is 750 calories. A large Wendy's Chili is less than 400!

LOL...you stole my line:laugh:

If the egg is cooked in a different food like butter or oil, then obviously you need to add that in. The calories however do not change between hard cooked, scrambled or raw for that matter as long as you don't add anything to them.

Like my friend Cosmo Kramer I like to spread Coconut Oil on myself and lay out in the sun so I smell like popcorn!

LOL....it does add a nice picquant to the fish does it not?

Thank you

Whatever happened to my favorites??? Bud Dry and Mich Dry....Good times :)

I'm not sure how you would draw that conclusion. The average person needs 2300 mg. of sodium per day. A 16 oz bottle of Coke Zero has 60 mg of sodium. So drinking 3 or 4 16 oz bottles per day would only contrinbute 10% of the needs of the averge person. Of course, there are sources of sodium that far exceed that but diet…

Hey pal. Don't start confusing things here with science! Just kidding but you are correct that many people take personal anecdotal information or correlative data and extrapolate to a conclusion.

a literal LOL moment for me..love the pants on the ground comment

I eat whatever I want. I just eat a whole lot less. I used to think I could eat 3000-4000 calories per day. When I saw calorie charts based on average of 2000 calories per day I always assumed that was for very thin people. As a former (I love the sound of that) 300 lb. man, I now realize that I am a 2000 calorie per day…

Delighted for you. I'm amazed at how a relatively modest wait loss for myself (13 # but need to lose 110) for me has made exercise much eaiser. Way to go!

You did this for your wonderful child....great job bro

I hear what you're saying about treating yourself. I have such an entitlement attitude about overeating. I dealt with this when I was in OA and at least now I recognize that I have it. Having the mindset that I cannot eat more than 2000 calories a day has been a real eye opener. I'm so grateful to have my eyes opened.
-
It also depends on what you weigh. I'm early in the program and just slipped under 300. I was very suprised to find out that my baseline was about 2100 calories. Makes me shudder to think I've spent many days at 4000+. Old conventions are what did me in. I have fought counting calories my entire adult life because I knew I…

I wonder if the cravings for sweet/fats after dinner ever subside for others?

Well, shut my mouth! I actually kept track of everything I've eaten for two consecutive days. I have NEVER done that. So, at least for two days, it's been a success. I made good food choices today. I am so grateful for the restaurant food database is so wide because I travel a lot and if I go to chain restaurants, I can…
