• Think cream puff w/ chocolate sauce. And I'm w/ Sarah...!
• Sorry, the last time I allowed a photo of myself was when I was thin! That was a LONG time ago! Any that others took of me, and had the temerity to send me, I destroyed. Now we'll have to wait until I allow photos again. And, I've just been too lazy to use any other image, I guess! :flowerforyou: I use the default on…
• I know everyone has different experiences, but I have 2 scales. One is over seventy years old, it's one of those that used to be on the city streets, you deposit a coin and it gives the weight; the other is relatively new, they both give me the same read out. So, in my case anyway, I find that a scale is a scale.
• I lost over 40 before I could SEE the difference. By that point I had lost over 8" from my waist alone. I felt better, my clothes got too big, but I didn't see any difference. It was about 30 pounds before anyone else noticed, or said anything. It will happen, just be patient and keep up the good work!
• For the most part, I don't eat my exercise calories during the week. Sure a few here and there, but not more than a couple hundred. As a result, I feel no guilt when I go a little overboard on the weekend. It's worked so far. Try it and seee if it works, if you find eating the maintenance hinders your loss, try something…
• I would start a hospital and medical group for those without health care or with no way to pay for services, or whose insurance doesn't cover EVERYTHING. No-one would be turned away and they would be provided with the same quality of health care as afforded the wealthy of this country. Doctors and staff would care and…
• I want to know if any men have tried it and had success? As a former dancer I think it looks awesome. But does it work? A mans perspective? Or are you all too alpha to admit using Zumba?
• I don't believe in rewarding myself for doing something that wouldn't need done if I'd been behaved in the first place. My only reward is to die thinner and, hopefully, soon! I hope to reach my target weight before my next birthday and be dead before my fiftieth!
• Sorry! I don't know why, but it posted twice.
• Bag Balm works great, it was once recommended to me by a Doctor. Same concept as the Udderly Smooth, but it works. It is greasy, so you want to apply when you don't have plans to do much else for a bit, but if you leave it, you'll be amazed at how much better your hands and feet look and feel after just one use.…
• Thank you all! This is why this community is so awesome! Everyone is so supportive! I wish you all great success as we continue our journey to happier and healthier selves!
• I feel for you! I made caramel corn last night and had such a hard time resisting. I managed to stop at one serving, so out of character, but I still felt guilty! BTW, never heard of cake balls, but they sure sound good! I don't know that I could have stopped at 4!
• Forget calories! now that I've read the menu I want the cognac over ice cream. I'm not even an ice cream fan, but with cognac... I know I'm no help, but happy anniversary!
• but I'd rather have the Twizzlers! I hate hamburgers! and frozen three muskateers are the only reason to buy halloween candy! Unfortunately, I can't have chocolate for medical reasons!
• Actually, that's a common misconception. I am overweight because of conservation/starvation mode. I had, prior to MFP, never eaten more than 1 meal a day. I was often told by the doctor and others that if I wanted to lose weight I had to start eating. I started gaining as a, very active, professional dancer who thought…
• I don't! Having been told, repeatedly, that I had to eat part of them or re-enter starvation/conservation mode, I tried to eat part of them. My weight loss stopped. So, I quit eating them! I will, occassionally eat a portion of them, say an extra 100 or so on a weekend, but as a rule I stay within my original allowance.
• Double post? I don't know why. Sorry!
• Welcome! This site is wonderful and the people so supportive. I HATE water, and probably drink a gallon or more of iced tea a day. Although I have learned to drink water with my workouts, I still think it tastes terrible! I have heard that decaf drinks count towards your water intake, but not those with caffiene. I have…
• I did say that I knew that wasn't what it was, but where it came from, it's just the idea! I did read all of the literature his doctor gave him, I just knew it wasn't for me. But, like I said, it really worked for my b.i.l.!
• Isn't this the "urine shot" diet? If so, my brother in law did it to lose his baby fat after my niece was born. It worked, but he was just losing a few pounds off of his beefy, muscular frame before heading into Navy Seals training, he has very little body fat. But he didn't follow the diet/calorie plan either, just had…
•
• We have annual passes, the last time we went for the full day, my pedometer registered over 6 miles. Log it as 6 miles at a casual pace. Have fun! We were hoping to go tomorrow, but other things have transpired.
•
And avocados will not kill you. It is natural vegetable.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but it's actually a fruit.
• Thank you all! I guess I needed the pity party and the cheer leaders! I don't intend to give up, it just seems I can't find the "magic formula" to eating enough. This isn't my first rodeo, but as most programs cater to those who overeat I've had a difficult time finding answers on how to do this right! Thanks again!
• I am a former chef. I eat only whole, natural foods. Lots of fresh produce and, generalyl, very little fat. NOTHING processed EVER! Very rarely do I drink soda. I'm not allowed caffiene for medical reasons and I don't care for the overly sweet taste of soda. I excercise twice a day and don't want to change that as I enjoy…
• I don't even own a microwave! And haven't for over 17 years. I never used it when I had it so it was just taking up space. I make everything from scratch and can't stand frozen or canned veggies! Fresh is best, in everything. I don't eat leftovers either.
• Thank you, this is the most thorough explanation I've found and does help to answer my query. I want to maintain weight loss and not throw my body back into starvation mode. I was just hoping I didn't have to eat more as I've gone from one meal a day at 700 to 1200 calories max to three meals a day and snacks. I'm trying…
• I'm sorry, maybe I added too much superfluos information. The question isn't one of what to eat or making up my minimum. The question is," Do I HAVE to eat any or all of the extra calories I've "earned" from excercise?" Thanks again! And, I'm doing this while still cooking for my roomies, so there won't be much of a change…
