  • What do you do for exercise now? I would focus on weight training/lifting. You can only go so far with cardio. I'm just finishing P90X and have noticed my arms and legs (all over really) tightening up, I believe from the weight training and trying to use heavier weights than I'm used to. (In combination with cardio- spin…
  • Neither had I when I started. It is great! I found it hard at first but you get better over time and you'll notice it in your legs. Make sure your diet and nutrition are up to par as well, I try to make sure I eat enough/really well on days that I have spinning after work. Makes a big difference energy wise.
  • I'm not overly familiar with eating as a vegetarian but I would suggust lots of protein- eggs (you already eat), greek yogurt, beans, nuts (especially almonds), peanut butter, veggie burgers, and definitely protein shakes if you're able to. Healthy/complex carbs- whole wheat breads and pastas, brown rice, fruit, etc. And…
  • I'm not familiar with that program or which exercises you would need to modify but I'm sure you would be able to find ways to do them with your dumbbells and eventually add weight in small increments (when you purchase heavier weights). If you're trying to improve/work on your lifting, the P90 (Power 90) workout program is…
  • I would say it depends on how hard you work your legs out. If you're doing a lot of leg work without weights 3 times a week probably wouldn't be too much however if you use weights -Squats and deadlifts with the barbell, and lunges with dumbells (awesome for working on the legs/reshaping and gaining strength) you probably…
  • You will likely be sore tomorrow, I remember when I started doing Kenpo X I was sore in places I haven't been sore before lol. Mostly my back, good sore though! As long as you are using weights that enable you to feel 'the burn' and have you struggling in the last couple of reps you're good. If you find that at the end of…
  • Strength training is key for reshaping the body. There are many contributing factors though; I'm not sure what type of exercises are involved in the class you will be taking but I would get a feel for it and see how you feel after. Heavier weights will get you better results, especially if you don't have much/any weight to…
  • He seems to say 8-10 reps for building 'muscle mass' and 12-15 reps for 'lean muscle'. As a woman I know I won't bulk the way I/most women think they will by doing lower reps and heavier weights so I try to stick to that. I'm on week 9 of P90X and I've always used weights that ensure I feel 'the burn' by the end of each…
  • Absolutely!! You look GREAT! Keep it up :)
  • Anybody :)

  • There are several yoga, pilates or combos on available on dvd, I would look around online to find one with good reviews and that incorporates what you're looking for. You can also find a lot of strength training videos, programs online as well. Try youtube.com they have loads of them. Even if you check out some videos and…
  • Wow! Good for you, you look fantastic!!
  • LittleD311 is right!! Nutrition is key. Also P90X Abs is pretty good http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jh1Ol3RpOEc- I couldn't find the actual video but this is someone doing all of the exercises. I'm on day 40 (of 90) of P90X and have been doing their ab workout 3 times a week, although I don't really see much definition I…
  • I'm doing the P90X program as well as a spinning class at least twice a week. I would say it depends on how much you were planning to workout on top of the program but you should be fine. As long as you're eating enough to fuel your body and you have the energy I couldn't see it being a problem :) Be sure to get your rest…
  • Protein shake and some sort of complex carbs; whole wheat bagel with peanut butter, smart pasta. Carbs help your muscles recover and repair better/faster after workouts.
  • Also, swimming is generally amazing for your body overall. I'm not sure why they would want you to stop all together.
  • Plus if you are strength/weight training 3 times a week, depending on how hard your workouts are, you should be building muscle (which weighs more than fat) so it might take some time before the scale reflects what you're hoping for. Try taking your body measurements and record them every few weeks. I'm doing the P90X…
  • You need to up your calorie intake. Your body needs more fuel for your workouts. And carbs aren't necessarily a bad thing; healthy/complex carbs like whole wheat breads, brown rice, oatmeal, etc. are important (in moderation of course) and will help keep you energized during workouts as well as help your body to recover…
  • P90X- Ab Ripper X- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jh1Ol3RpOEc - watch the video, all of the moves are listed in the description part below it, take breaks if you need them but try to get through as many moves as you can :)
  • I just finished day 1 of week 3, feeling really good. I haven't lost any weight yet but I've lost 1 inch on my waist, 1 inch on both thighs, and 1 inch on my hips! I would definitely say take your measurements!! And write them down somewhere so you can compare. Whether you do it at day 30, 60 and 90. Or every two weeks…
  • Week 3, Day 1 and feeling good!

  • Great tool! Thanks :)
  • P90 is an excellent program for starting to get on track with working out! You may be quite sore for the first week or two and alternating daily between the same two workouts (Cardio and Sculpt) might seem like a bit much at first but do your best to stick to it and the soreness will be gone in no time!! I'm currently on…
  • Yes exactly, whatever works for you. I found that doing the few weeks of P90 increased my strength and helped me prepare for P90X. Technically it requires a pull up bar (&weights) which I now have, but I am still unable to do a full pull up yet...so I use a band wrapped around it (could also wrap it around the top corner…
  • i"m in and I know what you mean! I got through about two weeks of P90 in January but I started wanting something a bit more challenging so I just start the P90X program on Monday (Feb 13th). The workouts are about an hour each, some longer. However I'm finding more desire and motivation to do the workouts with this…
  • Yea I hear you. I'm interested to see what Chaleane Extreme is like, let me know if you end up switching. I've started the P90X and I was surprised at how much I could do already, I thought it would take me a while to be able to do the whole hour. Attempting the Yoga X tonight for the first time, we'll see how it goes I…
  • I agree with you Lisa, the P90 got a little boring, if you keep pushing yourself and challenging yourself i.e. like how you've increased your weights it isn't as bad. I've decided to attempt the P90X program, I'm on day two, its hard but good hard.
  • That's awesome! Let me know how that works out. I am starting to up my weights as well. I can do most of the Sculpt exercises with my 15 lbs dumbbells now, definitely getting stronger!
  • Happy Friday ladies!! Enjoy the weekend:happy: !!
  • I had my first TRX class this morning! Well it was a Spinning/TRX combo class but wow I can feel it already, what a workout!! In love!
