First, I think you're awesome and brave for getting started again (I am, too) and for reaching out to the community for input. <3 Much love and admiration for that. It's totally normal if you are on a gaining trend when you get started on a weight-loss path to have a couple of sluggish weeks before you see the trend turn…

@Shanny - brilliant blue eyes!

Make an appointment with yourself, put on your favorite workout clothes, and just start with the first step: START MOVING AGAIN!! :-) You might hate it on the front end, but you know you'll feel awesome when you finish! P.S. Instead of feeling guilty about falling off the wagon, find the excitement and joy in being a…

^^ I've found this to be much more accurate than any online calculators that I've used in the past. Plus, I have an ongoing calorie count, so if I want a better burn, I just keep going until I get the burn that I want.

I use a watch-style HRM (Mio). For a baseline, I wear it for an hour during sedentary activities at home. I burn about 70 calories per hour doing basically nothing, according to my Mio. Then, I use it to record my HR and calories burned during exercise, and subtract the calories that I would have burned, anyway. So, if my…

I don't have a clue ... and yet, I'm compelled to keep doing it. :ohwell:

@jrs - what big eyes you have!

I keep one of those insulated plastic cups going all day with ice water. If I drink something else, I just set it to the side, then get back to it. I've been doing this for months (traded my usual coffee thermos for the water cup in January). I fill it up 3-4 times per day. I never feel bloated, but I think it's because I…

That's awesome! I love it!

"oooooookay, then..." + a smile that says, "you were joking, right?"

Yep - six-pack abs are the result of razor-sharp focus on diet. Achieving them is one HELL of a goal, but you can do it! :flowerforyou:

OMG, y'all!! Be kind to yourselves!! How about, instead of beating ourselves up and feeling bad for what we eat, we just pick a couple of things that we would LIKE to eat, and make them mandatory?? Such as - making sure to get lean protein for breakfast every day for three days. Boiled eggs are really easy to make on the…

^^This^^ was so true for me. After a few weeks of logging my food, I found a few habits that were packing seriously sneaky calories into my diet. My peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a glass of milk?? Nearly 800 calories!! I had no idea!! On the other hand, some of my favorite foods were surprisingly good for me AND my…

Is your daily calorie goal 1100? That seems a little low.

Are you sure your activity level and weight loss goals are realistic? I've you've been trying to lose too much too fast, you would feel pretty uncomfortable. I'm set at 1390, with a goal to lose one pound per week. Sometimes I don't get my WHOLE calorie allowance, especially when I burn a lot of calories with exercise. But…

Eggs have really worked for me in the mornings. I used to eat one boiled egg, sometimes, for breakfast with some other healthy thing thrown in for balance. It helped, but I was hungry really soon. Now I eat two eggs and a fruit every day for breakfast. I stay VERY satisfied all morning and part of the day, too!

Are you using a phone or a computer? I know that I really prefer using my computer because my phone is just a pain in general. Also - make good friends, and participate in the community conversations as well. That helps me.

Eggs and toast ... small fruit juice or Gatorade ... aspirin ... water ... nap if possible Also, if you live near a 7-11, I always found that a hot dog and Crystal Light Slurpee worked magic. Good luck! Also - get moving and keep moving. The more you lay around, the longer you're going to feel like ka-ka.

Oh yes, definitely!!

I love the excitement in your eyes in your "after" pics that just isn't there in the "before" pics. It looks like you're gaining a lot more than just physical health! ((hug!)) You are awesome!!

Nothing - I just make smart choices. I plan my meals ahead of time, and then if I do have a craving I wait a couple hours or even a couple of days. If it's still there, I feed it. Telling myself that I can have it later helps me resist impulse eating, and a lot of the time when later comes, I just don't need it anymore. I…

@Glamorousflo - 24?? Hair, face, body!! You are stunning!

It took me about three months to actually lose pounds when I started because 1) I was on a pretty rapid gaining trend 2) I started exercising, which causes muscle gain But I did notice less cellulite, a smoother silhouette, and my clothes looked better on my body. Now the pounds are dropping off at a nice, steady, slow…

Aww, Honey! It's okay. Losing weight can make us feel emotional and a little insecure. You are doing okay, and you are meeting your goals. That's awesome!! When I read your post, I wondered if you were short on protein because I can get really emotional when my diet is unbalanced and I'm not eating enough of it. Sure…

OP - Are you taking the appetite suppressant under medical advice, or on your own? I would seriously consider not taking the appetite suppressant if you're eating so little every day. 500 calories is not nearly enough. I won't even start with all the reasons why. Just eating less food is not enough to lose weight, and…

I got my first "real gym" membership in January. I hired a trainer who showed me a lot of things that I could do at a beginner level, and then worked with me as I became stronger. Alternatively, I had some success at Curves, and my aunt had awesome success! Just beware - some people at Curves are there to talk, not work.
