Congrats on your progress! You have a beautiful smile that is infectious is ALL of your pictures, both before and after!

This is what I've been doing... I've been striving to eat foods with a higher satiety. Add more low fructose fruits like berries instead of some of the higher fructose fruits like bananas. Add more non-starchy vegetables -- peppers, spinach, lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, celery, cabbage, snap peas, etc. I've been…

I got about 5 weeks in to a c25k program. Life got in the way and I dropped it. That said, in week 4 and 5, I decided to "redo" some days before progressing because my body couldn't handle it. I did that based on the recommendation of others who also had found it got to be too demanding before they were able to handle it.…

Oh ya... Don't just do a soup diet... It's a fad diet. I just like soup as a way to get my veg in me and it can be part of a nutritious healthy well rounded meal plan. Just eat healthy under your needed calories and the weight will come off slowly but for the long term.

I love soup. Search for a good butternut squash recipe... Nummy. I also like my lentil soup. 1 can rinsed washed lentils, 1 can tomato soup and 2 tins of water. 1 can Aylmers tomatoes with celery, onion and green pepper. 1 beef bouillon cube. Then go to town adding other veg (I use 1 large onion, bunch of celery, carrots,…

Sure. To be perfectly honest though, for me it would depend on the "special need."

Cabbage is always a great reason to go with "lazy man cabbage rolls" in the crockpot.

A fellow dog lover ... obviously you are a caring and energetic person who takes the pooch for walks!

I rotate through a few options. Usually it is whatever strikes my fancy, how hungry I am, what I have in the house and how much time I have. 1. Fruit smoothy -- 8 oz OJ, strawberries, blueberries, protein powder 2. Oatmeal and a piece of fruit. 3. Scrambled eggs (or omelet) -- Two eggs, two egg whites, splash of milk,…

IMHO ... you have logged about 7 days since Nov. 1. I would suggest calories at least at your BMR, using a food scale and measuring cups to make sure your portions are accurate, more veg, and actually logging everything to hold yourself accountable.

My typical lenten devotion is to decrease food consumption ... which I have been doing anyways. I plan to try and use up more of the food in my freezer, buy less groceries and donate the difference to those in greater need than I am. Further, I increase my time of devotional study. And let me tell you ... hot cross buns…

I just noticed that in my feed, the "beat a dead horse thread" was just above "grinding your own lean meat." Ummmm ... just seems really wrong that these things are so close together. I would hate for the dead horse to be ground up. :noway:

Calories and exercise. It was really my first diet years ago ... but not well done and not healthily executed. I gave up on fad diets years ago. Now it's about keeping me accountable. Nothing crazy. Nothing off limits food wise. Attempts to make healthier and more nutritious decisions, but working everything into my…

Here's me at the start. Need to take some again one of these days. I'm about 27 lbs down now.

I agree with the fine grating. Also, I prefer to purchase high quality cheese. Also, I find that you get a stronger flavour from "old" cheese so you need less of it to get the taste you long for. I also love my feta ... I find it a good number of calories for the flavour it adds.

I would also encourage some resistance training. It doesn't count easily like cardio does, but it is beneficial to help maintain muscle mass which helps burn calories.

I hear you. I hate it too. Mom was here for Christmas and was insisting on buying me McDonald's Apple Pie's, Big Turk's, Mentos and a bunch of other things in addition to eating out (Ya, I ate them, generally worked them into my calories but went over a few times) but other things like almonds and boxes of chocolates from…
