Looking forward to winter running this year, just got my Yaktrax delivered this week! Of course I'm in Canada so now I just have to figure out how to dodge all the polar bears............

You can bad-mouth my children, you can be-little my wife and you can insult my parents, but don't you ever.....ever.....EVER make a snide comment about my free range corn husks again. Consider yourself warned.....

I'm always worried I'm gonna reach for the Almond milk, and come out with that tetra of chicken stock. THAT would not taste good on my Kashi cereal.

if someone does come up with something like that, all I can say is........ "it better be kibbles, and it better be bits"

People who have absolutely no idea that anything exists outside themselves. So basically, yeah, society. I'm not sure why I ever leave the house in the morning.

I'll take advice from anyone that can help me. Since you have such an obvious problem with strippers, why'd you even click on this thread? Haters be hatin'.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I use a 2:1 water to quinoa ratio, and prepare the same as rice. I actually use my rice-cooker. I love quinoa, it's great when you're hungry and want 2,000 of something. (RIP Mitch)

How did you cook it? Playing with the amount of water can alter the texture (less water = firmer, more water = mushier). I like mine a bit firmer, so I use slightly less than 2 cups of water for 1 cup of quinoa.

I also recently discovered quinoa. Now I can't live without it. I cook mine in my rice cooker, 1 cup quinoa, 2 cups water with a bit of kosher salt and a bit of smoked paprika. Unreal. I have no trouble finding it, I get it at the Bulk Barn, of course that's here in Canada (I just ride my dogsled to the store, and bring my…

lol, no kidding! If you look on the same website, they have a list of the saltiest foods, and I believe #1 was also from that chinese food chain (I'm not familiar with it, I live in Canada) and it had over 10,000mg of sodium! That's over 10 grams! I immediately pulled out my trusty kitchen scale and measured out 10 grams…

Can we just cut and paste this response to every post that anyone makes on MFP from now until the end of time? In the age of the internet (it's a series of tubes, you know) every nut-bar with a modem thinks they're an expert. Thank you for some much-needed level-headedness. It can be awfully rare on these forums.

I have a snack very night. Had to, it's one of those things I knew I wouldn't be able to give up, and if I tried I wouldn't stick to the new lifestyle. I also do strength training (free weights) 3 nights a week and have a protein shake after each workout (in addition to the snack). I make sure I stay within my calories for…

Good lord that was quick! Thanks guys, kinda what I figured but I thought I'd ask. My thought was that I use olive oil on pasta with parm and basil quite often, and I figured I could cut some calories using the pasta liquid instead of the oil, but wouldn't bother if the calorie difference was negligible. Think I'll still…

^^yeah, what they said. I ran the Terry Fox 10K last weekend. Pasta for dinner the night before, WW bagel with some peanut butter a few hours before. Flew through the run, felt great. But I'm no nutritionist, do what feels right for you.
