  • hey! i do home work outs and share a similar diet in that i am lactose intolerant and surrounded by friends who are gluten-free. i also am a part of a bunch of support and accountability groups on facebook. would you be interested in connecting on facebook? let me know! it is easier for me to keep up on facebook than on my…
  • i drink the chocolate vegan and am in love with it! as a vegetarian, i use hemp seeds as a trick to switch up what proteins i get. three tablespoons counts as a red! are there any other vegetarians or vegans in here?
  • hi everyone! i am running a group on facebook with daily activities and accountability and support. if facebook is a better medium of communication, shoot me a message and we can talk about adding you!
  • I have an instagram for this: sassiworks Let me know if there are any recipes you'd like me to share :)
  • I drink Shakeology! It gives me my required dose of protein as well as a slew of other natural goodness. And there's a vegan option :)
  • I'm in graduate school and figuring out time management as well! I've finally figured out a really good thirty minute workout, though :)
  • I am a huge working at home person! It is a huge time saver and you don't have to deal with the whole people thing. You can even get group classes at home through DVD programs. Have you looked into any?
  • Are you mixing it with fruits or just drinking it straight? I find that when I add fruits, it works better as a meal replacement. You don't want to cut out too many calories :)
  • Have you considered doing some other types of training to get you stronger? I would suggest adding some HIIT workouts or strength training to work your muscles differently. When I added those in, it felt a lot easier to add more distance. Happy to suggest a few workouts if you are interested!

  • How long have you been doing the shake diet? Is it all liquid? Are you doing it every three days then four days off, repeat? I think the weird weight loss may be your body trying to figure out what is going on. Also, what type of shake are you drinking? Are you sure you are getting all your nutrients? How long do you plan…
  • Oh girl. I'm going through this right now for the third month in a row. I also worried about it. Luckily, when my period was over, I not only dropped all the weight, but lost more as if the blip never happened. I think it just hits some of us harder. Hopefully, once you're done you'll be even lighter than when you started!…
  • Are you closed to getting protein from different sources? What about protein shakes so you can mix fruit in and mask the taste (or find a delicious tasting brand)? I definitely like the crumbling idea, but perhaps into yogurt.
  • I actually do not over eat during Ramadan and always make sure to get a work out in. The reason I personally gain weight is the timing of the meals. Unfortunately, your first meal at 9:45pm is not ideal. I was a swimmer on the NY State team for the majority of my Ramadan fasts, and though I am no longer, have played soccer…
  • If we are talking about MFP's site-wide community guidelines, let's start with the first... 1. No Attacks or Insults and No Reciprocation a) Do not attack, mock, or otherwise insult others. You can respectfully disagree with the message or topic, but you cannot attack the messenger. This includes attacks against the user’s…
  • I would really try to motivate him to change. I know you cannot change a person, but I would try to change both of your regimes and do it together so that it would be something you are both invested in. I don't think I could just give up on the situation, though I know more is at hand.
  • Hi! I use Shakeology, which has been my favorite protein shake so far. I am partial to the chocolate flavor and have come up with quite a few recipes. Here are some ideas for chocolate andd vanilla: Chocolate 1. 3 dates, 1/3 a banana, 1 tsp of peanut butter, water 2. 1/2 banana, mint, 1 tsp of peanut butter, water 3.…
  • I did the 21 Day Fix, and on Day 22, I didn't realise it was Day 22 and kept with the eating plan. It really changed the way I approached food and eating and in general, my fitness goals. Before it, I was very careful about what I was eating, I weighed my food, and I tried to adhere to a DIY 21DF-esque eating routine. It…
  • What type of workouts are you doing? Have you thought about switching up the type of exercises you are doing? Shoot me a private message if you want to exchange workout ideas :)
  • If anyone wants to hear a success story from the program, let me know! Shoot me a message and I am happy to share my experience with the program.
  • Hi! I fast during Ramadan and gain weight every year. While there is a proven science to intermittent fasting, the weight loss is not sustainable and, more importantly, is not healthy. I don't know your situation, but what if you spread out whatever you were going to eat for that one meal over several hours? Though I…
  • Hii! I am not the most active on MFP, but I'd love to exchange recipes with you and this will give me a reason to be more active. I have dabbled in veganism for some time now, though have not fully committed for health reasons. This is my favorite blog http://havecakewilltravel.com/, though my favorite comes from Gimme…
  • 21 Day Fix did it for me. It is not just a workout, but also an eating plan that truly redefines your approach to health and fitness. It forces you to marry the two and change them both at once in a way that is sustainable. The workouts are challenging, but not impossible. It really jumpstarted my transformation. I also…
  • I was also going to suggest Fitness Blender! Beachbody also has HIIT programs, but they are not free. I swear by this five minute Fitness Blender workout: http://www.fitnessblender.com/v/workout-detail/5-Minute-Butt-and-Thigh-Workout-for-a-Bigger-Butt-Exercises-to-Lift-and-Tone-Your-Butt-and-Thighs/ie/

  • I'm actually not a coach yet, just a customer who had a great success! Thanks for the thought though! I would love to be one eventually :)
  • Beachbody has quite a few really awesome at home programs for lifting! The Les Milles Pump series is great! I just started coaching with Beachbody after losing twenty pounds on one of their programs over two months.
  • I agree with everyone who suggested using the phone app! It makes everything extremely easy. I find it easier than using the website. I also find that making friends sign up increases accountability. Having any sort of buddy system works!
  • Fitness Blender has quite a few awesome free videos. If you are looking into purchasing programs, I am a huge fan of the 21 Day Fix from Beachbody. It is a program that doesn't have you counting calories, but rather has you reconsidering what you eat based on the food item and portion control. I had been using My Fitness…
  • Have you thought about changing your routine altogether? I had that experience once and it made me realise that my body got used to the workout I was doing to the point where it needed to maintain the status quo. I would suggest looking into group classes at the gym. I know those may put people out of their comfort zone,…
