Visiting a good chiropractor may help. They ask if you have migraines during intakes on your first visit. If you have never tried it, I would suggest asking around for friends and relatives for suggestions instead of just picking a random doctor, since there is a wide variety of techniques. Chiropractic care deals with the…

I lost 25 pounds using Weight Watchers in 2009 and still have kept the weight off. I don't know anything about their new points system (I count calories now), but they have a lot of good information in addition to food advice - like using visualization techniques, changing your environment to be successful, utilizing group…

I would suggest you look into behavioral psychology principles. These are taught by drug rehab programs, weight watchers, etc. and includes ideas such as reorganizing your environment for success, using substitution, gaining social support, increasing motivation by making a list of reasons you want to succeed, etc. Ways…

4 - my boss told me in my first week there that the last people she trained called her Hitler, and I can totally see why.

Wow, way to go! It's amazing that you were able to make an incredible change at such a young age. Now you have a healthy life ahead of you full of awesome potential - I wish you many great years to come!

I aim for 1200 and then adjust for hunger or eating out, so I end up eating 1600-2000 about 3 times a week (and eat 1200 the other days). This works for me. I'm 5 foot 5, currently mostly sedentary, steadily losing 1 pound a week.

You have a great attitude - one day at a time!

I eat almonds that are already portioned out (either by bagging them after measuring on a food scale or they can be bought in 100 calorie packs).

Generally, polyunsaturated or monounsaturated is good for you. Saturated is bad for you. The difference is that "good" fats are made of flexible bonds and "bad" fats are not. This is why the "bad" fats cause clogging (ie. heart attack) in our bodies. Examples of good fats are avacados, nuts, coconut, dark chocolate, olives…

If you want to try out juicing, maybe try a smaller goal to start (like substitute one meal every other day or just do it for breakfast) and if you like it, increase and if not, then don't. If you decide down the line to do something more drastic you would already have a start to help you get into the swing of things. It…

A 6 pound gain overnight could be seen due to eating bread (or something similar). The water binds to the substance and then you see the gain. It's not a legitimate gain though - you will see it leave in the next few days. I try to not eat bread and simple carbs for this reason (because I like to see the scale decrease and…

You are so stinkin' cute! Great work!

I weighed myself and was happy to find I weigh the same as I did at the beginning of the week. No gain, no loss - which was my goal for this week.

I am eating on target for the days surrounding the holiday and then moderately enjoying the actual day or days of celebration (for example, eating a serving of things I normally wouldn't, but not three or four servings).

I just bought a kettlebell and already feeling sore after my first day -- so I'm not ready for this serious of an attempt yet -- but this post makes me think I should definitely set a January goal for kettlebell swings. Good luck!

I think it's about mindset. Some folks go about it thinking they will do whatever they have to in order to lose weight.... and they do, but it is not sustainable. A person can only hold on to a "Whatever it Takes" mentality for so long before reverting back. Making changes one can maintain as a longterm lifestyle is the…

You look fantastic!

Surround yourself with healthy food to help you make choices more aligned with your goals. I like easy Go-To items like Green Giant Steamers, premeasured almonds, and apples.

Online dating worked for me. It took a few years though... But part of that was me being too picky. Most of the men I went out with were proper and practically all of them paid for our date, even when I offered to pay my share. Only one or two were pushy physically (a small percentage).

My main thought is If you do decide on the surgery, make sure you choose your doctor well. Ask lots of questions and pick someone who will give you the results you want and look out for your best interest. I saw a documentary about people who go in for elective surgery and then suffer poor consequences from the anesthetic…

In my experience, no ... I know plenty of men who cherish their woman and let her know it through chivalrous acts!

I agree that coconut and olive oil, avocados (yummy in shakes), and any form of nuts (pastashio, almond, walnut) would be an easy way to increase caloric intake. Some grains like Quinoa are super healthy and also add up quickly if you have decent sized portions.

There are a lot of foods that I tend to eat on a lot more limited basis. Things like cheese, salad dressings, and white starches (like spaghetti). There are also certain foods I don't keep in the house so I don't eat them impulsively (like sweets). Not saying I never eat these foods - but basically, my preference is to eat…

Great work!

I try for 1200 but will eat more if I am really hungry. I try to eat only 200-300 calories per meal and scatter them throughout the day.

I forgot to add the time that women hit on me (I'm heterosexual). I had a woman I work with ask me to be her walking partner and eventually told me that she was leaving her husband and wanted to start a new life with me. I had a woman who offered me a job (I had previously worked with her), then two days later invited me…

I went out with a man who on the second date told me he had once summoned Satan and failed 11th grade from smoking too much weed. I had one date with a man who bragged about racing lawn mowers. And I also had one of those experiences with a great date which ended with an invite to bed and after that fell through. Dated a…

Forget it and start clean today. Don't beat yourself up about it and don't let one day (or a few) get to you. Focus on the good in the future not the missteps of the past.

I've heard this is a cultural issue (in the US) because we are so used to seeing people overweight. Someone at a normal, healthy weight may appear as "too skinny" to others.
