  • Just finished day 10 of keto. Would love some like minded friends.
  • Meh, I tried it, lasted maybe a day or two. I really like having a large dinner. If I don't, then I'm snacking an hour later, causing me to go over my daily calories. Big dinner = full till bedtime.
  • I've been buying he Bear Naked Fit Almond Crunch recently. It's yummy! I don drink milk, so to get my protein in, I make a protein smoothie and use it for cereal milk. Super filling, and you get all your macros in, instead of just having a carb overload for breakfast.
  • I love quinoa. Besides all the healthy reasons you would eat it, it cooks way faster than rice, so I don't have to plan ahead to make it. 15 minutes, done. I'm not down for hour long cooking sessions.
  • I have a heavy bag in the garage, and I love it. Throw in some jump rope and kettlebell swings, and you'll build up a serious sweat. Anyone feel free to add me (please leave a message so I know where you came from).
  • I'm right handed, but think like a lefty. I box south paw, bat lefty, etc. I highly recommend using dumbbells for workouts to ensure one side is not over compensating for the other. I was doing barbell OHP up till a week ago when I had a sneaky suspicion that I wasn't lifting evenly. Sure enough, I cut the weight in half…
  • Thank you for making this post. I found it while trying to find a solution to my lower back pain from deadlifts. I thought I needed to strengthen my core, but now know I need to ramp up my glute exercises. I'm doing Stronglifts right now, and I love it, but realize I'm not really feeling any glute activation. I've got the…
  • I use NOW Pea Protein Powder. It's made from non GMO peas, has almost all the amino acids that whey or egg protein powders have (you can get the rest from a balanced diet) and is easy to digest. Sometimes whey gives me tummy issues, plus I don't like the added favors, binders and other crap in it. I mix it with cocco…
  • I second that. My husband doesn't get it, he thinks lifting is boring. I love it! On another note, I'm doing Stronglifts, and think it is a great program to start with. I don't like trainers, because they tend to shy away from heavy lifting, and send you on a rat race for isolated movements (bicep curls, leg extensions,…
  • I started heavy lifting two weeks ago, and can already see a difference in how my clothes fit, and strength and endurance in daily activities. Feel free to add me if you're looking for female support.
  • Anyone feel free to add me, I'm on MFP all the time!
  • As the saying goes, "Abs are made in the kitchen." The only way to reduce stomach fat is to reduce overall body fat. We all have a six pack under that layer of fat.
  • 50lbs to go here. Feel free to add me as a friend, and I would love to join the group!
  • I just cook up 4-5 whole breasts in my crockpot once a week with basic no salt seasoning, shred it and use it for all my meals. Have it in salads, sandwiches, wraps, tacos, soups, the list goes on. I just can't cook chicken everyday, but I love to eat it everyday.
  • Wow, have I been there. I never learned healthy eating habits or proper portion sizes growing up (I'm 31 and this is the first time in my life I've actually counted calories). I've lost massive amounts of weight, never quite reaching my goal weight, I'd get comfortable, then gain it back. I come from "bigger stock" as…
  • Oh, my MIL would do the same. Buy crappy food when she came to visit. Food I said we did not eat or want, but she bought it anyways, and then I would have to throw it away (donate if non perishable) when she left. Then, she had the audacity to say I had an eating disorder! WTF? Needless to say, I wasn't the only one she…
  • :flowerforyou: Love it! I also love the quote, " Pain is just weakness leaving the body." And of course the Leauge of Their Own quote, Jimmy Dugan: ****, Dottie, if you want to go back to Oregon and make a hundred babies, great, I'm in no position to tell anyone how to live. But sneaking out like this, quitting, you'll…
  • That's totally me! Nutella has been forbidden from the house for years! Ice cream as well, my husband and I will polish off a quart in one sitting. And any kind of chips, somehow my hand always finds the bottom of the bag :blushing:
  • Yeah, you're going to get a lot of people that say their way is the best. But you have to figure out what works best for YOU, something you can stick with forever. Best of luck!
  • My husband always says he knew we were meant to be when he found out I hated mushrooms as much as him!
  • MinMin97: Yeah, I think I'm currently 35%, ugh. Luckily for me, I can put on muscle, so hopefully I can cut that down little by little each month. Unfortunately with dieting, I'm the same size I was six years ago, but weigh about 40lbs more, so I know I've lost muscle. I don't log my exercise either, I don't like how MFP…
  • Ugh, get a cupcake so you don't go overboard, savor it, log it, and eat healthy the rest of the day.
  • :drinker: Cheers to that. I've never wanted to kids, so I'd be happy if I were barren. However, I do have amenorrhea ever since I did the depo shot and gained a ton of weight, which was seven years ago, yikes. I just want to be regular with happy hormones. Feel free to add me, I'm on a health quest. The husband can get…
  • Oh, where to start. I too am over the yo-yo dieting. I started back up last week (but went camping this last weekend, and didn't make the best food/beverage choices). I'm weighing once a week, and got a body fat monitor to make sure I'm actually losing fat and not muscle, as I know previous diets have done. I'm swimming…
  • Anyone is welcome to add me. I have about 50 lbs to lose, and am finally ready to get off this diet roller coaster. And friends help!
  • The theory behind not drinking water half an hour before or after you eat is because the water dilutes your stomach acids, which can slow down digestion. I've never been a big drinker while I'm eating, but I tank it the rest of the day. And I also eat only two-three squares a day, so if this theory is true, doesn't really…
  • The switch to 3/4 was not too terrible, I think I was only on it for a week though, so I can't really say for long term. It was nice though changing it up. Different actors, moves, etc. Looking forward to it now!
  • Power 90 and P90X are two totally different beasts. Gregorah, I feel your pain. I've owned the Power 90 series for almost 10 years now, and have never made it past 60 days. I too kinda feel my fitness is back at zero, but the results of the program should be motivation enough. Looking at your post, and seeing if I start…
  • It is correct that you are burning fat, but the fat cells themselves need time to shrink as well. Its called reset, your body needs time to adjust to the weight loss before loosing more fat. Just keep on keeping on. Water is the most important thing you can do while loosing weight, and thereafter. I would advise against…
