This has happened to me a few times. I have had to get up about 1am to get something to eat as I knew that I would never get to sleep as I was so hungry. Now I have upped my calories a bit and make sure that I get a good meal around 6pm, it now seems to be OK. I think that if you are really hungry then eat something, it…

As the above couple of posts have said I also agree that you can turn it around. I forgot to mention that my Dr said that he would rather leave off the medication for at least 3 months to see how things go, as he thinks I can turn it around as I have made a really good start. Where it was mentioned about the carbohydrates…

Like you I have just be diagnosied with Diabetes 2. The nurse I saw on Thursday told me that if I keep up my wight loss and eat healthy there may be no need for me to take medication. Exercise is important too, though I can only do anything for 5-10 mins max. Carbohydrates are important, along with fibre (the diabetic…

I had siatica for 18months, it took 18weeks of treatment for it to go. I was advised by him to get a exercise bike, and get a really soft mattress for the bed. Since I did this I have not had it since and that was about 18years ago. Not only that but I suffered from a bad back, not now since I got a soft mattress.

Unfortunately there are no hooping classes anywhere near me. I live in the country and my nearest town is 8 miles away and even that is quite small. I have seen demo's on utube though. I read that you can burn loads of calories, me think I am going to have to get one. I keep putting it off as I was unsure. I did stupidly…

Good on you

Well done, you must be very proud of yourself. Hope my loss goes as well as yours.

My Doctor advised this years ago. He told me to go on a strict diet for 2 weeks and then eat normally for 1 week without gaining any weight back and that really did work and I dropped the weight easily. This was 30 years ago and was working every day 6 days a week and was on my feet all day and had 4 teens and house to…

The weight I would like to be, though I use a spreadsheet too and there I target myself to drop each stone. I have 3.5 to lose.

On Monday I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, My Dr said I needed no medication, but was pleased that I was losing weight and exercising a bit. He reckons we can turn the diabetes around if I get rid of my stomach fat, as I am quite small around the hips and legs. I was determined that I wasn't going on medication, so…

Include me too please.

Wish I knew what you are doing to lose that much. I eat about 1200 cals a day, but for over a week now I have lost no weight, so getting a bit dispondent.

I do, if you log them in 10 min intervals it still amounts the same as a solid hour. I usually do perhaps 5 mins as I have trouble with one of my legs so I have to be careful, but I keep a note and then add the minutes in one go as it were.
-
Thanks. I didn't realise you could change the amounts. That will be really helpful.

I weigh myself in the morning as soon as I get out of bed and then again before going to bed. I have found that if I have gained 3 lbs in the evening then my weight will be the same as the previous morning, however if I weigh in in the evening and I have gained 2lb that day then I know that the next morning I will have…

I have wine every evening whilst cooking and a glass with my meal. Never done me any harm. I always log it though, so that is part of my daily allowance.

Years ago my Dr told me I ought to diet so he advised me to go on a strict diet for 1 week, then the following week to eat normally, but not put on any weight. He used to weigh me every 2 weeks and that really did work as the weight dropped off as did the inches quite quickly. I would think that this is similar. I am only…

Hi I am from the UK and live in glorious Devon. I am 67 and really do not feel it, though I am carrying a lot of weight around, but things are going to change, and I am so pleased I found this site, purely because I downloaded an app for the ipad what luck that was. Add me as a friend if you like.

I think I will see how it goes for a month or so with my current settings. Thanks for you advice.
-
I did not lose 3lb really. When I filled out the settings or whatever it is I put in my wrong weight by 2lbs. I had started to diet a week before I found this site. Going by what you say I will keep it at 1lb then. If I am lucky maybe I will lose more. It just seems that 45 weeks to get to my weight is ages away. I just…

I have read all the posts with interest, never realised that you should eat all of your calorie allowance as well as your exercise ones. Though if my memory serves me right I think Weight Watchers allowed you to have extra points for exercising. At least now I can see the logic.
-
I would do what you think is good for you. You could opt for maybe half the time you do normally.
-
I am doing this too, but at times I only do 5 mins, like when I am waiting for something to come to the boil on the cooker, instead of just standing there I move. Today I am going to start a salsa exercise I have seen, maybe then I will be able to endure longer periods. I am really badly out of condition, so I need to…

I am from Devon. You can add me.
