  • Feel free to add me too :) Good Luck in your journey!
  • Either toss it in the pan with a little EVOO, sprinkle with pepper (or Mrs. Dash), or I do the same thing on the grill. Easy and tasty.
  • Yep, same problem for me too....seems like everyone if we're all noticing the same thing. It's very frustrating.
  • I agree with some of the suggestions already. I struggle with my protein intake as well (falling short like you). I try and make sure I have some sort of protein at every meal and snack and I'm looking into protein shakes/bars as well (I think something homemade is the best way to go as the bars seem chock full of so many…
  • Holy crap!! Looks like it's the frozen fruit for me ... that's good to know about the Black Sapote - you know, just in case I suddenly can afford to splurge
  • Thanks so much. Love the idea of freezing the fruit, I always forget about that. Dumb question, the Black Sapote?? Where do I find that, I don't think I've ever seen it in my grocery store (or maybe I just walked by it! lol)
  • No I haven't, I'll have to check it out - thank you!
  • Sounds heavenly!!
  • No I haven't, I'll check it out - thank you.
  • WOW!!! Awesome, thank you for all the suggestions! I do eat veggies with hummus (a fav) but it's usually an afternoon snack at the office and adding the almonds to my greek yogurt is something I've done before and I love. You can also never go wrong with popcorn!! I do enjoy the Fibre 1 bars - a little too much and I…
  • I would suggest anyone to buy a scale. I started measuring and weighing all my food and it makes a huge difference. I bought a Starfrit one at Canadian Tire and it was $9.99. I've never had a problem with it and have had it for for 1 1/2 years and haven't had to change the battery (9 volt) yet. It's lightweight, compact…
  • You've made the first step and things aren't going to change overnight, but the more fruits, veggies, whole grain and protein you incorporate into your diet, the more your body will adjust and you won't be craving those fatty foods and sugars. Drink lots of water - it really will help (forget about those "empty calories" -…
  • I usually just end up adding grilled chicken and veggies to my quinoa, but thanks for all these recipes, I'll be doing so many more things in the kitchen!!
  • There are fluctuations every day, but I log my weight "officially" for MFP on Monday mornings. It's a new week and whatever my weight is (up or down) it gets logged. It's the only way I'm honest with myself and if I go up ... I better watch what I'm eating and I better be exercising more! If I go down - bonus, but the…
  • Through MFP, mine is set at 2500 however, I try to keep it 1500 and lower which is pretty easy because I don't eat alot of processed foods that are high in sodium to begin with. There are times when I hit 1700 but I really watch my sodium intake. I don't have any health issues related to me needing to restrict my sodium…
  • Clean Eating for me is nothing processed and eating foods (fruits, veggies, whole grains, lean meats and organic) as close to it's natural state as possible. I just started eating clean, so I'm not 100% .. YET .. but I'll get there!! I'm about 85/15 right now. I looked at Tosca's book and her website as well and also…
  • I used to eat 100% whole wheat bread, but I've recently made the switch and become a fan of Ezekiel bread. So good, so filling (80 cals per slice) and the Ezekiel English Muffins and Tortilla shells are good as well. I haven't found it at my local grocery store, but I buy it at my local health food/organic store. I won't…
  • Before I got my heart rate monitor - I figured out how much time I walked and how much time I ran and logged my exercise that way. You know how much time you're walking and running on C25K.... that being said, get a HRM, it's your best friend and is more accurate than anything!! Good luck!!
  • Hang in there .. don't get frustrated. As cliche as it is to say "the weight didn't come on at once, so it won't come off at once" is so true. I can't see your food diary, so I don't know what you're eating. How is your eating - remember, it's diet & exercise, and make sure you are drinking plenty of water. If you're…
  • Free Range - made the switch 3 years ago and I'm glad I did!
  • You can always try the rowing machine. Also, instead of running 5K all the time, switch it up and shock your body with some new cardio routines like interval training (HIIT) It can be done on the treadmill, elliptical or rower and you go full out for short periods of time followed by a recovery period. When I first started…
  • I have trouble with pushups too. I keep doing them though because the more I work on them, then I know I'll be able to accomplish them. Practice makes perfect .. keep at it, it's the only way you'll finally conquer them! You know how I've tried to learn how to do them -- I did them up against a wall. Stand arms length from…

  • I drink the 0 calorie sparkling water - every so often and coffee, but I log ONLY my water - plain old water. That's just me though so I make sure I'm getting at least 8 glasses of water a day, if I have one of those other bevvies, than it's a bonus but I don't log it.
  • I'm so sorry that you're struggling with so much and that you've beaten yourself up about it and hurt yourself, but you've made the first step before to try and talk to someone (although not really helpful) and here you are again. DO NOT EVER APOLOGIZE FOR HOW YOU FEEL. Your feelings are raw and they're real. Don't be…
  • I bought one and I don't know how I ever lived without it! It's amazing to see EXACTLY how much food is compared to just eyeballing it. I spent $20 on mine at Canadian Tire and it's a digital one. My suggestion (like others on here as well) is to get the one that measures in grams and ounces and get a digital one with the…
  • I agree with this as well!!! Great advice.
  • I totally get what you mean ... but remember this "you're stronger than you think" and you'll conquer this. I agree with the other poster who said "don't give up" ... You've worked hard up to this point and have had success so don't undo all that and don't let any frustration take away from what you've accomplished. I was…
  • I love this question!! I just started "clean eating" last week and sure it's only been 10 days, but I feel great. Before I started, I read alot of the "old" posts on here, checked out some websites and books and went and bought a clean eating cookbook. To say I'm a 100% clean eater would be wrong, but 90% of my diet is…
  • My co-worker and I signed up for Zumba at the gym and she had gone before while I had NEVER done a class before. I made her go to the back of the class with me because I felt awkward, but in all honesty ... the awkwardness left me pretty quickly. Everyone in Zumba class is concentrating on doing the moves correctly and…
  • At home I have my yoga mat, medicine ball, bosu ball, kettlebell and resistance bands. Nothing beats them and especially with kettlebells that's great for cardio and toning. Also, there's nothing better than your own body as well (squats, lunges, planks, pushups etc.)
