Hi mate, type 1 of 25 years here. You should be SUPER CAREFUL with all alcohols if you are a T1. Most largers and ales contain carbohydrates which as you know, affect blood sugar. The real problems come in a few hours after you drink the alcohol as it will actually lower your blood sugar whilst you sleep! I have had many…

Yup, as someone who suffers from type 1 diabetes it is rather funny when I meet people who tell me I have to switch to a low carb diet. Hi, can you clarify this? at the moment I have a rather huge deficit (1,000 a day) then add to that about 3-400 calories for the walking I do. Why would not eating these calories contribute to a longer weight loss time?

I have been a type 1 diabetic for 23 years and my weight ballooned when I left for university. I didn't take care of my condition and as a consequence I became rather heavy. I went on a course to get better control for my diabetes last year and it finally made me take responsibility for my condition and realise that it…

Wait.... it's suppose to help with weight loss?!? I eat two or three a day because I have a rather unhealthy obsession with them! Being a diabetic they are fantastic, they have a really low GI and taste awesome!

Hi there, I have had some problems with the levels of calories burned through the fitbit. It turned out that it was down to the BMR settings you use on MFP. I had it set to sedentary and it told me I was burning thousands of calories! I would check to see what yours is set at. Also, always wait till the end of the day as…

So this past Saturday I met someone for coffee. This coffee ended up being several glasses of wine, several shots of jack daniels as well as Thai food! Although it was a rather huge blowout it was good as it is the first time I have had experience logging alcohol and understanding the calorific content. I shall be much…
