I purchased a dial scale - I check it against my digital scale when I weigh in. Sometimes the digital scale can add up to 5lbs. I weigh daily because I don't mind the slow progress. I just like to see the trend.

I base my calorie intake off my fitbit hr. It's been perfect. Still losing 2lbs/week. No need to guess mfp excerise calories. HR monitor picks up every thing as far as I can tell

Usually I drink a sweeter tasting diet soda. that is Usually enough! I also keep chocolate rice cakes in the house. When i'm craving something I will try to distract myself by taking a walk. or playing a game on my phone... just walk away from the pantry.

Remember if you're aiming for a 2lbs a week weight loss.. you have 7000 calories to eat on top of your goal (weekly) to reach maintenance (3500 calories for 1lb/week and so on)... I highly doubt you would eat a 7000 calorie meal. Also remember this is a long term battle. Enjoy a meal in celebration and focus on staying in…

*how to find lower calorie substitutes in my favorite meals that would normally be high calorie meals. I can still eat things that taste great and lose weight. I just have to substitute ground turkey for hamburger. or low-calorie sour cream... or whatever it may be. *I can still have soda, just coke zero and really only 1…

Keep up the water intake, and eat a little under your goal calories for the rest of the week and you'll be fine. I've eaten a few whole pizzas (thin crust) during this lifestyle change. and I'm still losing 2lbs/week. It's a journey. One day won't derail you if you look at your CICO in the week-long picture.

Gave up if I didn't lose weight every day. (which usually lead to me eating a whole pack of oreos in one sitting). Telling myself if it wasn't a part of my meal, It didn't count (sneaking bites while cooking) Thinking Plexus, Hydroycut, medifast, or anything other diet pill, plan, scam was going to work... and somehow I…

I agree with all that was stated. For me "meal prepping" is done day-to-day. I normally cook a bigger dinner, or cook the protein separate so I can use it again for lunch, but maybe in a different fashion. For example I may make chicken breast for dinner, and cut up chicken to go over a salad, or in a wrap the next day.…

79 pounds to go for me! Hoping to see it by New years eve this year. It's been probably 8 years since I've seen onederland

I've thought all of these things. PLUS if someone posts that stupid chart one more time on "why you're not losing weight" instead of actually typing words I'm going to cry.

This. I LOVED some Mt Dew.... now I can't even remember the last time I had it.

99% Aldis - I may pick up something from walmart or Target if I happen to be there already.

ENTIRE PACKS OF OREOS... like no cookie left behind! I miss that. lol

I have an ambassador on my facebook who posts every 5 minutes about how you have to "stick with it" and she's 2 or 3 months in and she hasn't lost any weight but she "feels better" and has more energy... I feel better after a hot shower and a cup of coffee.... that doesn't cost me 200$ a month. It's a scam. get yourself a…

I started at 302. I lost 15lbs my first month. I have been measuring everything to make sure I am getting enough calories and I never feel famished... I believe if you are tracking everything and are sure you're eating enough then you're just fine.
-
This is my first month. I do not exercise and mfp Suggest 1600 cal. So that is what I eat.

Minnesota. Lol

I weigh myself daily as well. I agree with the other comment that you're not harming anything by doing it, but you can't be the kind to be easily discouraged. If you find the scale number to be discouraging you, put it away for a week or two and focus on your other "non scale victories".

Thanks Everyone! You're right. I need to focus on the big picture - I'm turning my eating habits around to teach my son how to eat healthy and if I lose weight in the processes even better! I think I'm going to stop weighing myself as much as I do and stick to the task at hand!

actually I work as a shift manager at BK. I eat there almost daily. you know whats healthy for you, stick to it. Salads, grilled chicken. if there is really nothing you can get away eating then eat before or after work.

My tip: If you want to eat a cupcake, EAT A CUPCAKE, just not 10 of them! Weight loss is all about finding self-respect for yourself and taking care of you!
