  • I use pita's lightly brushed with EVOO and sprinkled with rosemary and roasted garlic, in place of sauce some hummas (homemade) and then topped with carmalized onions, wilted spinach, roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts and lots of either gorganzola or herbed goat cheese. My family loves it!

  • 1 lg cauliflower, cut in to pieces, put in oven safe caserole 2 tbsp butter/margarine 1/2 cup each chopped red and green peppers 1 cup fresh or canned sliced mushrooms (fresh so much better) 1/2 cup veggie broth/chicken broth (homemade is much lower in sodium) 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese 1 can/homemade cream of celery…
  • from the sticks in Alberta :) feel free to add me!
  • ironically enough if you add a titch of mustard powder and paprika to your homemade mayo's it will taste even more like the real thing. I do this with my home made vegan-mayo (base of tofu instead of yogurt)
  • this is kind of a funny one but it's a breakfast fave in my house, can be made the night before . Mexican Cinnamon Rice 1/2 cup chopped onion 1 clove garlic, minced 2 tbsp becel vegan margarine (or your personal choice) 1 cup uncooked long grain rice (white or brown will work fine) 1/4 cup currents/raisins/cranberries 2…
  • Hi I am a vegan :) have been for a few years and was veg before that. Feel free to add me :) my diary is open, although I will warn that I am not always great with entering things since I am not really trying to watch cals that much right now lol
  • For the most part my breakie's are around/over 400 cals. Then maybe 50-100 for snacks 200-400 for lunch, another 50-150 for snacks and then dinner is anywhere from 200-300 (there are days that I am over this, but they are the days that I am running around non stop)
  • crap... dual post due to my excessively slow computer :S
  • TOTALLY WITH YOU TARA!! :D
  • okay here's my take and I may be way off but for the most part it works for me. I am 5'4" and weight 109lbs. I have a small but very curvy frame. I eat like a pig (all vegan diet) in saying that, I tend to eat over half my daily calories between breakie and a morning snack. Also I eat every 2 hours or so all day long. BIG…
  • For me it's not bad... it's alot of strength training, not alot of actual cardio but you are always moving. It works up a good muscle burn atleast.
  • I am in the best shape of my life thanks to Jackie Warner, both the book and a work out dvd (power burn) I love them!
  • If I have to eat some where like that I always ask the restaurant staff to have the meal cut in half before serving it to me. That way I know that I can't gorge on the whole meal. Have a good healthy snack before you go and maybe down a glass or wo of water befor you eat, have the diet coke and maybe a beer if you want to.…
  • hey... I am a vegan so if you want you can message me any questions and I will do my best to help you. I get tonnes of nutrients and my food is never boring!
  • I have often wondered the same thing. I don't consider the basics like washing dishes, sweeping floors as either... heavy cleaning to me is total house clean, moving furniture to vacuum etc. If I break it up then cleaning bathrooms and washing floors would be light. I guess for me it's how long I go at it and how much I…
  • I tend to agree with alot of what has been said, that vast majority of foods are processed. If it comes pre-packaged or pre-made in almost any form then there is some processing and alot of the times chemicals that go in to the foods. Frozen veggies really arn't that bad, but if you are concerned and can do it grow your…
  • I tend to eat bigger lunches and smaller dinners so some of my fave's are (keep in mind I am a vegan so you can add some meats if you choose) quinoa with mushrooms and wilted spinach, coucous salad mixed veggies (eat warm or cold - couscous with peas, carrots, brocolli, cauliflower, green beans served over spinach or kale)…
  • Hi, I am a vegan (was vegetarian for a long time too) I have to say that I DON'T eat crap or processed foods. I make everything from scratch for every meal. I make nut based "cheese" which no isn't cheese but it works good in place of. I make all my own baked goods and breads aswell and they are in fact all dairy and egg…
  • I am in the process of toning up and shedding the last few pounds that I need to. What is working for me with interval/circuit training is one minute per exercise, all out hard core, do three different and then a "power burn" of all three combined in the following minute. I found this through Jackie Warner and it has made…
  • I need accountablity buddies too so feel free to add me!
  • Welcome! For me if it wasn't for all the great support here I would not be near as motivated to get my healthy life style back. You came to the right place. Feel free to add me as a friend and we can support each other!
  • I am right there too! I don't have alot of weight to lose. I am at the low end of my healthy range but definately have some body fat to burn off and some muscles to tone, tighten and strengthen. Add me as a friend if you want and we can struggle through that last little bit together! Good luck ladies :D
  • that's incrediable! Congrats :D you can most definately see a difference. Keep up the good work! Congrats
  • I am in for sure! :)
  • I am in for crunch and squats! (have been doing 100 crunches a day but want to up that). Definately need to work on making 65 squats! Great challenge
  • I added you :) I am looking for all the support, motivation and feed back I can get too!
  • thanks everyone. Yes I did mean Insanity, gotta love when you combine a remark you are going to make and a name :S better proof reading needed obviously
  • I guess the other thing when it comes to food is that I don't/can't eat any preservatives, msg or food dyes so I eat about as clean as you can get.
  • was actually a vegan, and happy about that. But due to some blood work complications, some dairy is being put back in my diet until it is under control again. This is an issue that I face occasionally and it does make it hard for a few weeks to adjust again.
