  • Hello! I'm 43yo and lost 35lbs with MFP several years ago. It's crept back on so I'm trying to get back into the habit of being mindful of my eating. This is more fun with friends so you can add me if you'd like
  • I've done intermittent fasting off and on for 18 months. Every time I start up again I get headaches for the first week or 2. Keep up the water intake and it should go away as your body adjusts.
  • They have a few random fees here and there, but the monthly rate is so much less than any other gym in my area that it's worth it to pay the startup and annual fee.
  • I like the Jefit app. There are several different beginner workouts that you can use or follow their ideas and make a custom plan.
  • I run a fun Trail Race every year outside of Omaha called The Dizzy Goat. 3, 6, or 12 hours running a course through a state park.
  • My trainer recommended that I do 10-15 minutes of light cardio to warm up, then lift weights, and then do 30 minutes of my regular cardio. She said to get the maximum benefit from the weights, you don't want to lift on muscles that are tired from the cardio. Also she said that it is better to do 30 minutes of hard cardio…
  • Unfortunately, the flex bands are not known for their longevity. My first one only lasted 2 months. I started with one color, and then bought the 3 pack of replacement bands so I could switch colors depending on my mood.

  • I use the C25K by Zen Labs. It only does time, not distance.
  • I don't have "cheats" because I don't deprive myself. Instead of setting my calories super low and then going over on a regular basis, I just set my daily allowance high enough to lose weight slowly and still eat the things I like. I'd rather be happy everyday, than be miserable 6 days a week and make up for it on cheat…
  • I was the same as the other poster. I only had attacks with greasy foods, lettuce, and popcorn. I found that if I got dehydrated, the stones would "settle" or "stick" and I would have an attack, but if I drank a few big glasses of water the attack would go away sooner. I think every body is different, and you will find…
  • When you start a new excercise program, it is common to maintain or gain weight at first. Your muscles will hold onto water and glycogen at first. After your body adjusts to the new program, it will release the extra water and you will start to lose weight. A lot of people on 30DS say they don't lose weight until 2-3 weeks…
  • Jillian has said that the 30 day part of the title is just the marketing. She recommends doing the 30DS along with other cardio or srength training. I have seen a lot of people doing the 30DS alternating days with the C25K running program. It should be called 30 session shred, meaning do each level for 10 days, but not…
  • I just finished D2L1. I am sooooooo sore. I just about cried when I realized I forgot something downstairs and had to go back down to get it. I have way too many stairs in this house.
  • I do either 30DS or C25K after my kids are in bed. Each is only 30 minutes, so I have a hard time telling myself that my health is not worth 1/2 an hour of my day. I like those 2 programs because I don't have a gym membership. I fell off of the wagon for a while and lost my motivation, but have picked myself back up and…
  • I'm in!! Did day one yesterday after about a month of not excercising due to lack of motivation. Every muscle in my body is sore. I am suprised I could get such a complete workout in 30 minutes!!! I'm going to have my Hubby watch my form tonight so I can make sure I won't stop because of injuries. Add me as a friend if you…
  • I have had a sick toddler, so I haven't made it out in the morning yet, but I got an alarm clock app for my phone that makes me do math problems before I can shut it off. I will see if that makes me get out of bed tomorrow.
  • Question for the morning excercisers - Do you get up at the same time every day, or just get up early on the days you work out?
  • I use C25K by Zen labs. It is free and has the whole plan included. You can also play your own music and it will mute the music when it gives you the voice prompts.
  • Different things work for different people. Some find it easier to take it day by day and not get overwhelmed by the big # of pounds they want to lose. I find it easier to look ahead at my goals and know that this process is going to take at least a year. When I get frustrated about how long it is taking, I just remind…
  • Maybe you are trying to make too many changes too quickly. Since you can tell a difference in how you feel from eating healthier, just focus on that for a while. Then, ease into becoming more active. if you over do it, you might burn out too quickly. You will have ups and downs in this process, but don't use them as an…
  • I lose about 5 pounds per month. My usual pattern is 2weeks at the same weight, and then lose the 5 lbs. in the other 2 weeks. I am happy with that pattern as long as I am gradually getting lighter. I figure a slow and steady loss will be less likely to be regained and will give my skin time to adjust so I don't get saggy.…
  • It won't be easy, but it will be worth it.
  • I use the Zen Labs C25K free app. Never had any problems with it.
  • For most celebrities, looking a certain way is a big part of their job. I f I was able to focus all of the time I spend at work and taking care of my kids and my house on fitness, I could look like them too. They have personal trainers and nutritionists to help them out.
  • Constipation and slow metabolism are 2 big signs of Hypothyroid. I'd suggest seeing your doctor.
  • I always find myself losing motivation when I put to much emphasis on what the scale says. To keep myself motivated I also have to look at other things like measurements, fitness goals, energy levels, stress levels, ...etc. The scale doesn't tell the whole story, but if it isn't moving I feel like the changes I've made…
  • I almost chickened out and did an extra day of week 2. I decided to try W3D1 to see if I could do it, and made it all if the way through. It is amazing me that I can actually do this.
  • The only time I can fit in exercise in is after I put the kids to bed. I have started changing into my workout clothes as soon as I get home from work, so I have fewer excuses. If I'm already dressed, it doesn't take much to pop in a tape, and get moving. After a few days, you won't be as sore. Make yourself give it a…
  • I don't think I could keep the leftover cake in the house. I don't have that much willpower. I'd have to give it away or throw it out.
  • Maybe it would be easier if you don't try to say no to the things you want. I've been doing this for 2 months now, and have eaten everything I wanted. Sometimes it was just a bite, and sometimes I just ate lighter at the other meals to make up for it. I have done extra minutes on the treadmill in anticipation of the…
