Very appreciative of the positive comments. That's great motivation!

I am healthier for sure. Amazingly, though diabetes and other crap runs in our family, I don't have it. My "numbers" ie blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, etc. while not "healthy" were not way out of whack either, but now they are down to that of a young healthy man. A1C is good, normal BP is now 165/60, heart rate…

She's "of age" in every state that I know. That said, yeah, too young for me.

@Southern_Bell Yes

Like anything else, if it's a priority, you'll find a way to fit it in, and make it work.

There's Bugs Bunny and all the rest! /thread

I'm going to Orange Beach (Alabama) the last week of this month. Bonus: it's a "working vacation" paid for by the State. Free Condo on the beach, plus per diem.

Ok, I get New Orleans being on your destination list, but what the hell are you going to see or do in Mississippi? LOL

If WW works for you, then don't quit. That said, and I'm sure others in this thread have already said it. WW IS calorie counting. Nothing more. 1pt is roughly 50cal. All the "tools" one needs, except the in person weigh in and meeting are here on MFP, but you can create the same amount of "accountability" through a friends…

Because nobody has ever said anything cruel or "less gentle" to fat folks before, right? Bottom line: it's open season on fat *kitten* 24/7. I accepted that, and I can do one of two things. Change the thought process of the entire planet, or change me. I'm no rocket surgeon, but it didn't take me long to figure out which…

You're HOT!

NEVER, EVER can go wrong with this, assuming the steak is cooked right, and the BJ is completed.

I don't call it cheating, because I'm not on a diet. I'm trying to maintain a healthy way of living/eating. I'm losing weight as a byproduct because I was overweight. I work out fairly strenuously 4 days a week. My calorie intake goal is 1500-1800. I stay within that probably more than 90% of the time. Sometimes a few…

Lots of assumptions made and inferences being drawn by you two on what I said. The personal cracks make it clear you don't have much in the way of intelligent retort. I, being an alcoholic like you, and having had some liver issues due to same, my opinion isn't without direct knowledge, and is based on doctor's opinions on…

Pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft.

^^^^This!

Thanks!

The liver also repairs itself. So, yes, you're correct, it would cause some damage, though in a healthy individual, the damage should be offset by the fact the liver heals faster than the damage being done by moderate alcohol intake. Which was my point! DUH!
-
Which was kinda the point I was making. I didn't know that specifically, but if the poster had FLD, there were probably other bigger factors aside from alcohol consumption.

I've heard/read this 1200 cal a day minimum debate over and over. I've also read/heard some doctors say that for a small percentage of people, mostly very small/petite framed females, (yes people, there are such things...we're not all supposed to look or be built the same) 1200 may not create a deficit enough to lose.…

You can lose while consuming alkyhall, just not as fast as you want, and it does have "side effects" on the way your body handles other things such as: fat, calories, sugar, sleep cycles, hormones, etc, all of which can have an effect on your weight loss.. How much effect? That depends on your alcohol to wt ratio to begin…

I find it incredibly difficult to believe 2 glasses of wine a night over 6 years caused any damage to your liver.

Wow! Wow to what the OP said, and WOW to so many comments. If only I were smart enough to come up with an original comment on either side of the subject.

There are no "rules" at least not set by the OP.

I've known people to move up north with their kids, and have their kids told in school to stop using "ma'am" and "sir" the way they were taught here. Seems up there they think the kids are being smarta**ed when they use it. I know one set of parents that told the people at the school that that is what they're taught, it's…
