All excellent thoughts except number 2. Number 2 is completely false. Meal timing is irrelevant :-) it's all about the calorie defict, not the timing! Otherwise nice post :-)

This Thread is from 2012. Pretty sure the OP isn't going to be back :-)

You weigh 356 pounds. You have no problem consuming calories. You shouldn't just be eating salads, just eat what you used to eat but in smaller quantities. Get a food scale, and weigh all your foods. Try to eat enough protein and balance your Macros. I'm sure you can do this if you try :-)

No, no and no. Ignore this.

5'11 1/2, so a bit short but here I am. My starting weight was 305 and I'm now 157. The tough part is when you get smaller finding pants that actually fit you in the rise and inseam. It seems that pants that are designed for really tall women are always too long for me, LOL even though I am all leg. I just don't get it! I…

I did the c25k as well. And I did in fact repeat a few days because I didn't feel that I was ready to move on. I went and got serious running shoes, because shin splints are no joke :-) After the c25k program ended I just kept pushing myself with a similar program that I created, starting and stopping when I felt it was…

Nope.Complete myth! Grandma was wrong ( I'm not telling her, though). !

First thing in the AM. Before eating, after potty time and buck nekkid. I weigh on my Aria scale, then log in to Fitbit (to tell it I'm up), log in to Trendweight (for the graph), and MFP. In that order :)
-
You didn't get to be overweight eating 800 calories per day. Fix your logging, and you should start losing weight.
-
No. This is a myth that won't die. You will lose weight if you consume less calories than your body needs.
-
Nope. Simply eating protein won't cause muscle gain. The only way for a person to gain muscle is to lift heavy objects and not be in a caloric deficit. Muscle is not the answer.
-
Not true. The solution to not losing weight is NOT " eat more" .

Target carries the PB powder too. It's in the PB aisle.

I'm 5'11, 159 lbs and between an 8 and 10 as well. I am also very big framed. I have to special order shoes, and no matter how thin I get, my wrists, hands and shoulders don't shrink!

Vivarin or No-Doz are two popular name brands, although the generics are just fine. I buy mine off a shelf at Walgreens, but some stores have them behind the pharmacy counter .

Cookie butter. Not allowed in the house. For me, it's even worse than Nutella :-) All I need is a spoon.

Not with that username. A butterfly is a pro-anorexia term

If you are in a plateau, you are eating at maintenance. Increasing your calories will lead to weight gain. The answer to not losing weight is never to increase your calories.

And, since HGC is now illegal to sell in the United States they don't contain any of the actual hormone at all. It's a scam.

In my case, Ankylosing Spondylitis is caused by an extra gene; the HLAB27 gene. Carbs ( or not) have nothing to do with it.
-
Nope. Not possible.

There is a new kind called Power Crunch. It's like a sugar wafer with protein, and probebly the best I've ever had. I crave them. PB one rocks1

I have had results similar to that of jgnatca. It's a tough decision and not one to be taken lightly. I'll be 4 years out in March, and have lost ( and maintained) around 140 lbs. I can now run 10 miles. I can drink however much water I need, and eat just a bit less than most people. This was a tool to help save my life…

I know but you have probably considered this, but I had this problem, and it turns out that I simply cannot wear a workout headband or a sweat band of any kind when I work out. The tightness around my head give me a screaming shrieking migraine within about an hour. Again, I'm sure you've looked at this as a possibility…

This has been my experience as well. Except for "one"day where MyFitnessPal website was having data issues, my Fitbit has synced with MFP immaculately for the last 8 months. I love mine and I had no problems with it :-)

No. Starvation mode is a myth.
-
Your body won't store fat because of too few calories consumed. Your nutrition goals won't be made if you under eat, but the whole "starvation mode" thing is a myth. :)
