Another thought for you, I would have calculated you at 2233 BMR. From my own experiments and research I have experienced a similar thing. I wasn't losing weight but I did lose fat during this time. I do not hold with the general belief that you should not eat under BMR as people who are a lot more qualified than I am…

just picked up on this thread, it is a subject that has fascinated me to be honest, so much so i have written a short book about it ( due to come out in about two weeks) I believe the calculations for BMR are accurate however i question the activity level calculations that are used when working out TDEE

Hi I haven't had a drink since 2006 at all. I found it very easy to do partly because it gave me up and not the other way around. I have not said I am not going to drink again I just have not had one. My friends and I meet regularly and they get tipsy, they do not put me under pressure to drink and I still have a great…

Hi One pound a week is good, please feel free to add me if I can help in your goal

Lots of stuff been written on this subject over the years, including don't do cardio and weights at the same time etc. Also with time constraints the argument as whether compound exercises are better than isolation exercises. A lot depends on what you want to gain out of it. Body builders will do isolation exercises…

You are doing very well, the one pound a week is good. It would be interesting to see how your 1.5 pounds per week is calculated and from where as all sites vary with their calculations. Please feel free to add me and our group my fitness - our fitness if you think we can be of some help Good luck

Hi Charles Please feel free to add me and/or join our group my fitness - our fitness If we can help we will Good luck

Hi Jo I joined MFp a few months ago and also formed a small group called my fitness-our fitness, I have been interested in exercise and eating correctly for most of my life. I have done my research the same as you and have become so interested in it that i have started a nutritionists course so I can help others. Please…

Hi Kelly Thanks for the reply, sorry its took this long to get back to you - I only have just come on the computer because of the holiday, i normally do all my weekday logging on my phone and had not seen the message until today. I eat not through stress but when I have forgotten my fluids, if I have come in from training…

Hi Kelly Thanks for the comments, I have to agree with you - tablet for this and potion for that is not the way to go. I have been interested in staying healthy for as long as I can remember but I know a lot of people who haven't got a clue what they are eating and why they are putting on weight. I checked various web…

Have to agree with everyones comments that consistency is the key, I weigh different at various times of the day and also different weights on different scales. After sleeping when you first get up is best, you haven't had time to eat, drink etc so you can set your bench mark then, don't forget a litre of water weighs 1…

you are doing nothing wrong, that is a good steady and sensible loss. If a friend asks me to help them lose weight and I break down their intake requirements then I will always suggest going for one pound per week. so you can see you are doing really well. Please feel free to add me if you wish

My opinion and also some other martial artists that we do weights first then cardio, the logic behind our exercise regime is you are using your food consumed source/energy to do the weights then when you switch to cardio you are burning fat. It is felt that you won't get the muscle development by trying to build the muscle…

Usually you find the intake of water drops at the same time so you do nibble on bits of food.

Hi Please feel free to add me and I will help if I can, personally I believe you have to start with nutrition. No amount of exercise will get rid of bad nutrition.

Why tomorrow and not now! Gunners start tomorrow because they are gonna start then, make a start now, even if you have eaten your quota for today go prepare for tomorrow, do your lunch etc. Enter your details in MFP and find how much you should eat, you then should find out how active you are. Its good to plan like this,…

Based in West Midlands but always in your neck of the woods working, please feel free to add me, Let me know if you want to join the group and i will send you an invite to that as well

Hi I can really see why you are frustrated with all this, i was just the same a few weeks ago. I started looking at the calories and also got several different answers from different sites. I am not a techno expert but let me tell you what I found and it worked for me - might do the same for you. My first conclusion was…

Hi West midlands. UK please feel free to add me

Whatever you do it will not help by beating yourself up ! Your boyfriend loves you so thats great, if you try to do something too quick it just will not work, you could run the risk of bad health etc etc. As others have said slow and steady is the way. Check your BMR and activity levels then come up with your own calorie…

Not a lady but married to a short lady, she struggled and I became interested in nutrition and joined MFP. I calculated targets for her and she has lost well since, please feel free to add me - who knows it may do the same for you. Good luck anyway. The offer to add me goes to any of the MFP folk who reply to you

I think a lot of people would agree that the setting for protein on MFP is low and we have all gone to custom setting, I lost weight at default setting but felt weak and general sporting performance was down. altered my protein with the help of a calculation and all seems fine now and weight/fat loss keeps happening but…

Please feel free to join our group, we will support if we can

Thank you, I would love us to get more members so we can all help more.

Hi You can always pick to set the goals yourself and use MFP as a food diary come lifestyle reminder, thats what I do, my goals I have set myself, I don't want to be a stick insect but prefer a toned muscular look. Check out our group My Fitness- Our Fitness if you're looking to join a like minded bunch of people for chat…

It does make sense, the reason I ask is I felt the calculations for protein requirements left me feeling a little down by the end of the day, especially if we were throwing weights around or doing hard cv workouts. I adjusted mine away from the 40;30;30 a little and it worked for me.
-
I have been looking into this with my wife who is 5' tall, when we tried to use national averages which equated to 1200 calories it did not work to any real extent. We then calculated calories, protein requirements and mildly adjusted the MFP target and to no surprise to us she has lost 9 lb in the last 3 weeks. Please…

i look at mine on a daily basis more than by each meal, I am very interested in this topic and have done some research into it. I find that I disagree with the protein level that MFP recommends for me and at this moment I am using myself to test my maths. Suffice to say with the slight tweak I have done to my own diet I do…
