  • Same for me! I was really excited that I held crow pose the other night as well. :) I know it's because of Stronglifts.
  • Ooooh, anyone can add me as well! :)
  • My name's Nicole! I just started low-carb and have been transitioning into keto as I get better at meal planning. Love to look for tips and recipes. So far, I'm feeling pretty great and I'm never bloated. My tumblr is healthynic.tumblr.com so add me! (I follow from my personal blog though)
  • I usually pre-log up to dinner. Dinner is whatever will fit the rest of the calories. Otherwise, I tend to under eat because I will overestimate my calories and I'm trying to bump them up.
  • 400-600. Usually in the form of a smoothie & some kind of protein. and then I eat a 200 calorie snack/meal 2 hours later. I prefer to eat more in the morning because I don't like to eat dinner. I consume 85% of my calories by 3:00 so I put a lot into breakfast.
  • I'm not hungry either. I usually just have a glass of milk/protein shake. If I need the calories, I'll make a filling smoothie so I can drink the rest of them and not have to eat. It's easier to do than to chew them all.
  • C25k for sure. I'm on Week 6 and just ran for 20 minutes straight for the first time! Make sure you go slow, and definitely keep your feet under you. I'm looking into the 10k program by the same app company next!
  • My family started to notice at about 10 pounds. Other people at 20. I've lost 35 now and people just ask if I've had a haircut. I seriously get asked if I've changed my hair twice a week. (I haven't). So, I think people notice I look different, but aren't quiiiite sure why. They'll catch on eventually. :)
  • I'm in Orlando near UCF as well. About to graduate. :) Getting into running now using c25k. I just never post on here because no one else does... I'll send you a friend request!
  • I HATE reheated chicken. BUT I've found the secret to making it normal. :) I've made 3 different recipes using a "rolled" chicken. http://www.skinnytaste.com/2011/08/chicken-rollatini-stuffed-with-zucchini.html It reheats marvelously in the microwave and in the oven. I was definitely suspicious of it because just the…
  • I switched from running on the treadmill to running outside 2 weeks ago... and the first 2 weeks were AWFUL for soreness. I waddled home, could barely lift my legs. But it would always be better by the time I went for my next run... and then be AWFUL again. Onto my third week now and the soreness is much better. Still…
  • You should be fine! I started c25k but I'm only halfway through and my 5k is next week! Oh well it will still be fun! I'm just going to say don't worry about your speed. You will probably find running outside to be harder, so take your time and speed will come!
  • I recently switched from the treadmill to outside. It is a little harder, but I feel like it is 100% more rewarding. It's a lot less boring and I enjoy the fresh air. I definitely feel it more muscle-wise, but I do not want to go back to running on the treadmill now.
  • omg I'm going to cry. It's almost enough to ruin pancakes for me... ALMOST. I regret coming into this thread 100%.
  • Commenting for myself so I can read advice that you get later. For myself, my jaw has been stuck in a semi-closed condition for a year. I'm in bad pain every day. I have noticed that I am much angrier, crabbier, and annoyed more often, especially when the pain is noticeable. Insurance wont cover any treatment because they…
  • Keep going! It will get easier and easier as you go. Don't worry about speed for now, just go for completing it. The first time you complete the circuits entirely, you're going to feel amazing. Nothing tops it. I also get what you're saying about stride, I feel like mine is short, but I'm short (5'3") so I guess it's…
  • I recently developed an allergy to red meat, so I stay away from it.
  • I have bad knees from 16 years of competitive dancing, but did not find the shred to be too difficult on them. Do what you can if you're committed to doing it. Try it on Youtube first, as others have said. Also, if you're doing it on carpet, buy shoes with little traction on the bottom. It will help.
  • I workout twice a day. In the morning, I do weight training at home. I love the way it makes me feel and I'm much more energized throughout the day. After work, I go straight to the gym to do cardio (currently doing C25k). With my school and work schedule, I do not have the time to put off all of my workouts to the end of…
  • I like to do 10 minute pilates videos: http://www.amazon.com/10-Minute-Solution-Lara-Hudson/dp/B0002J58ME She has different DVDs, but the main premise is 10 minutes for different target areas. Each segment is 10 minutes, so you could either do a short workout or combine them all for a complete set. One of them is…
  • I take a vitamin with iron in it. It has the smorgasbord of other vitamins/nutritional items in it, but the main focus is on the iron. I'm anemic and I rarely eat enough food with iron in it, so it was necessary to supplement that. Most of the other things I manage to get in with food. Some vitamins make me really nauseous…
  • There was a girl next to me at the gym yesterday wearing some really short spandex bootyshorts while walking... This would be mostly fine, but they rode up her butt every 2 minutes and she kept pulling them out with extreme force. They just kept going back up. -_-
  • Oh. My. God. I'm crying... too funny. Poor third grade you!
  • I find the elliptical to be easier than the treadmill. I can go longer and harder (ha ha) on the elliptical, but I always feel like I'm actually working harder running on the treadmill. I don't see the point in owning both, unless you have a home gym and can afford it. Personal preference.
  • Definitely agree with needing weights. You will feel it for sure if you're just starting out with 3 pound weights. Fill a jug with water or use soup cans if you have to, but 3lb dumbbells aren't that expensive at Target, Walmart, etc. Other than that, don't give up! Even if you can't do all of the exercises, don't stop…
  • These are mine! [x]GW1: 175: Dye hair/get it cut [x]GW2: 165: New workout clothes []GW3: 150: Pedicure []GW4: 140: New outfit []GW5: 130: Tattoo Can't wait until 130 because I reaaallly want a new tattoo! :)
  • There are certain types of ellipticals that really kill my knees and others that I could spend 3 hours on and have no problems. The one in my apartment's gym kind of aims downward with the normal incline. That's the type that hurts me. At the normal gym I go to, they have nicer ones that have a general upward incline. Love…
  • I do not eat if I wake up early to work out because I get really terrible cramps and I wouldn't be able to make it through even 10 minutes. If I'm waking up early to workout, I try to have an extra snack the night before so my stomach isn't grumbling when I wake up. I eat right after I'm done!
  • My downstairs neighbors are annoying, so I don't really care if they hear me jumping around. IMO, it's only 25 minutes and they can handle it. I'm not clomping around like an elephant (most of the time)... I wear shoes and do some of the jumps on my mat which absorbs the impact. Also focusing on landing lightly is good for…
  • That's awesome! I'm starting C25K tomorrow and I'm always doubting if I'll actually be able to run for 30 whole minutes. Seems so far out of reach... Thanks for the motivation! :)
