Being strict about measurements. I do way too much "eyeballing" and saying "Well, I bet that was about 1 serving of ____" and then logging it. I'm sure I'm not being precise enough and eat over what I should (to some degree), and if I do that too much, then shedding the weight becomes much more difficult.

Born in DC, raised in Gaithersburg...moved to Canada about 7 years ago, but still a DC/MD girl at heart. :)

I was going to suggest getting pregnant and giving birth. You can lose up to 20 pounds in 2 weeks!

Librarian. (Currently for a special library in a corporation.)

Like empty bags, right? I know that feel. Unfortunately, not much to do for it unless you go the surgery route. Just try to get a sturdy bra with a strong underwire to help. Oh, and I thought this thread first said "Burning Bras After Losing Weight" and I got pretty excited. Whoops.

Jewish Rye, Rosemary/olive oil, and sourdough are my top 3. Mmmm!

1,300 calories is quite do-able when you fill up on snacks of fruit and veggies, which are oh-so-low-cal. To spice it up, buy yogurt for dip for the fruit, and get tasty seasonings for delicious oven-roasted veggies. Also, you can find frozen fruits and veggies for cheap at the store. Also, gum is a life-saver because I…

Same here! I've been losing and regaining the same 2 damn pounds since January. It's because I like to take weekends off, which is a bad habit that needs to be broken. Like britzzie said, maybe logging every little thing that goes in our mouths will help.
-
Good luck everyone! I'll join on that, too. It's going to be hard because I have an out-of-town guest for 10 days (which means restaurants!) and it's summer, which means beer. I'll try to make lighter decisions and better portions, though.
-
Good call! I think I'm going to start logging on the weekends again. I know, you're all aghast that I'm not, but I slipped off the wagon and said "Meh, I'm good for 5 days, so might as well take two days off." Well no wonder I'm stalled!

Hi y'all! I'm Diana. I'm 29, born in and raised outside of Washington, D.C., but have been living in Edmonton, Canada for the last 6 years. Librarian by day, couch potato by night. The heaviest I had gotten was 186 (I'm 5'5) before I decided to nip it in the bud. Joined MFP in April 2012, lost 36 pounds in 8 months, and…

Dream job: Beach librarian :glasses: Actual job: Corporate librarian :grumble: Close enough!

Another important thing to remember is burnout. Going really hard really fast is a good way to burnout fast. Your motivation is going to be HUGE going in the first time, because you're more determined than ever to lose the weight and do really, really well. However, the first few weeks of counting every calorie and eating…

I also used to suffer from panic attacks (still do, but they're mostly under control). I'd do the same as you -- have breakfast and then skip food for the rest of the day, get home, and not be able to eat a whole lot. It's because I was so afraid of having an attack (which would make me nauseous and scared), that I…

Kaiser Wilhelm, who is a somewhat distant relative. Herbert Hoover is my great-grandfather's cousin. Both crappy historical figures.

I really love my legs. Shapely like Barbie's but better tone and definition!

Spaghetti squash. Nom nom nom.

That's the best part for me! Went from 36H to 34F. Not enough, but it helps my back problems a lot!

FYI, calculations are off. Up to Pasukaru, it's 4,220 lbs lost.
-
36 pounds. Total: 3,378 lbs.
-
Me too.

I've heard about that! Some people have bad side effects, like bad teeth and prostituting themselves to buy more, but I've heard that it can really help shed those unwanted pounds really fast. It works differently for different people, of course, but I hear it can be very effective if added to diet and exercise.

I agree. My wedding wasn't just about me, it was about celebrating all the people who lead me to become the woman I am, and supported me through my life. All of the most special people in the world to me were under one roof at one time, which wouldn't happen again (unless...anniversary parties??). I wanted them to all be…

Fat-free, plain, with a teaspoon of honey and a bunch of mashed-up berries in it. Mmmm!

I'm starting over from Day 1 again. Saw good results last time, but never finished.

Style hasn't changed, but I was really excited to fit into belted dresses without looking 'squeezed.' I've always liked them, but they always looked a bit odd at a larger size.

Level 2: "For all you badasses out there, keep your eyes on Natalie." I thought she said "fat@$$es" at first and was like "well, that's mean."

My parents are supportive of everything I do to better myself as a person, so absolutely! My husband has been wonderful, too. He has taken this whole journey with me and changed his lifestyle, too -- picking out better options at the supermarket, finding new and interesting vegetables and fruits that we can add into our…
