  • I know a few people exactly like that! One them gets SO mad because I refuse to post my surgery details on Facebook.........I have MFP for that---and it is NOT anyone's business. Anyway, even though I work out six days a week (kickboxing and strength training), this person still comments to others that I'm cheating and…
  • I am currently playing the first Kingdom Hearts.......again...........:)
  • There is a lot of misinformation spread through MFP regarding Bariatric Surgery. This is a decision only YOU can make and you have to do it for the right reasons. The surgery is only a tool, and those that use it wisely will be successful. Those who think of it as a short cut will fail. Yes, you have to change your eating…
  • You will get better faster if you work out :) I was super sick a few weeks ago and still went to my kickboxing classes.........I was over being sick in just a few days versus the weeks it used to take me!
  • I just went back through my food logs and I barely reached 150 calories a day the entire first month. Granted, the first three weeks was all liquid and/or sugar free jello but I couldn't have eaten more even if I wanted too..........I am now almost a year and half post op from RNY and I barely reach 1000 calories most…
  • Hi :) What are your post surgery eating requirements? I know that across the board they vary greatly from surgeon to surgeon but for me, I had 3 weeks of liquids after surgery and then pureed foods on the fourth week. I gained 10lbs just from being at the hospital due to all the fluids they give you so always keep that in…
  • Hi! I drink Premier Protein pre-made protein shakes and they rock. They are only 160 calories, 3g of fat, and only 1g of sugar! The best part is that they have 30g of protein and taste good :) On a side note--to help reduce hair loss after surgery, you should take Biotin :) I hope that helps!
  • Since I already had an ultra book and a laptop, I went for the Kindle Paperwhite............and I LOVE IT.............it is exactly what I wanted :)
  • omg...............I can't stop laughing at this.............
  • When you inform your boss that you will need vacation for the launch of PS4 and the new FF and Kingdom Hearts :)
  • hmmmmmmmmmm this could be fun :) ok SW: 183 GW: 170 WHEEEEEEEEEEE! :)
  • When I first started, I looked at food as bad vs good. However, once you start reading labels, you will find that so called 'good' food is bad for you due to the high content of sodium and sugar. You will find that by shopping at meat markets, and getting fresh ingredients, you can eat lots of awesome tasting food that is…
  • I had RNY last year in July as well :) I don't eat back the exercise calories at all since the goal is to stick to your 3 meals a day at around 3/4 cup of food :)
  • I am 9 months post-op and I still have trouble with reheated foods (especially chicken!).....no idea why......the microwave does something evil to the food I guess lol
  • Hi, I am in the same boat right now--I am 8 months post op and have lost 90lbs...but I have been stuck at the same weight for over three weeks now---it is SO frustrating and everyone seems to have ideas and opinions on how to jump start the loss again; however, nothing seems to be working. Also, I am finding that I am much…
  • Hi!! I'm a PlayStation girl---and I LOVE playing Final Fantasy games (along with a ton of others). Right now I'm replaying Final Fantasy IX :)
  • HI! I had Gatric Bypass on July 30th! And don't worry about the stall.........I hit a plateau that lasted THREE WEEKS! Its normal and pretty soon the weight starts dropping again!
  • Don't worry! Surgery will go great :) I am now a month post-op and I would definitely make the same decision again if I had to. Some things to remember though: you will probably gain wieght while in the hospital due to all the fluids they pump into you (I gained six lbs!) and the more you get up and walk and go to the…
  • Hi Babs! Congrats on making the decision to become healthier :) I had gastric bypass on July 30, 2012 and its been a journey already! (some good some bad)........Let me know if you have any questions and I would be happy to help :) Ruby
  • I just had gastric bypass on July 30, 2012 and I'm lucky if I can reach 300 calories a day. Getting all the protien is very difficult at this point as well. My book from the hospital states that once I am on regular food I should have between 300-600 calories a day. I think the point is to have healthy, high protein, low…
  • I tell anyone and everyone who asks! LOL---For me, I didn't want to feel like I was 'lying' to anyone when asked about weight loss --even though I know I could have just said 'I'm eatting better and exercising more'. Also, the individuals who think that WLS is the 'easy way out' drive me INSANE! This surgery is…
  • I did the same thing as you when I first began this process. The only thing I knew for sure was that I did NOT want the lapband (it creeps me out). I debated between the sleeve and the RNY --finally focused on RNY ... and tomorrow I am scheduled for the RNY surgery :) I researched the surgeon to help make my decision and…
  • Hi :) I'm on the tail end of my approval process and I was told NO coffee by the doctors and nutritionist because its the acid of the coffee that can harm your new pouch during that first year---giving up soda and coffee have been brutal for me. Ruby
  • Hi! I am currently going the entire process for weightloss surgery approval. I have finally done all the appointments, tests, and counseling sessions and meet with my surgeon on the 16th to get a date. I could not possibly agree with you more that this surgery is not an easy fix! Everything that has to change---and its…
  • Protein helps your body feel fuller longer as well---so I think you are good to go! :)
