I'm in starting today! Thanks for this! :-)

Oh my, it's finally happened. WATER has been linked to cancer. Well, I'm doomed then. I don't drink tap water where I currently live because it tastes vile- our water in west Texas is heavy in iron and various other nastiness, and I figure if it tastes bad and turns clothing in the washer brown, it's not really wise to…

Honestly, it's okay to go a little over your calorie goals during your TOM. Your are hungrier than usual because your body is using more energy in the week leading up to and during TOM. As long as you aren't eating gallons of ice cream and heaps of chocolate, a little extra fuel is okay. Here's one of many decent articles…

US Air Force, just passed my 14 year mark. PCSing soon to Florida, so excited!

bump for the link... I've been guilty of many of these, particularly the obsession stuff. I need a reminder every once in a while that obsessing over a healthy diet is, well, unhealthy sometimes.

And done! :-)

In!

Hmm... bump

Exactly what I needed to read today! Thanks!

I use a motoactv, and it's super easy! I have the chest strap, but even without it, it tracks steps, calories, workouts, etc. The heart rate chest strap adds a more accurate calorie count, plus it enables tracking of exertion and that lets you compare how you were feeling during your workout related to heart rate spikes…

All my miles for this thread are walking. No running for me (bad knees). I'm hoping that with a commitment solely to walking for 50 miles, that'll increase my overall moving in other areas too. It's working so far! 1 Feb: 2.35 miles 2 Feb: 0 :grumble: 3 Feb 2.15 miles 4 Feb 2.04 miles Total so far: 6.54 miles Goal:…

Went for that walk with my hubby :-) Mileage update: 4 Feb: 2.04 miles (walk 3.0 mph) Current total: 13.42 miles Goal: 75 miles Remaining: 61.58 miles

Actually, I have an autoimmune disorder myself, my dear, so I do know a thing or two about them. And no, I don't actually think aspartame causes them. My point was that ANY chemical (naturally occurring or otherwise) can do strange things to cells in a living body if ingested in freakishly enormous quantities. Some very…

Sorry, it was a busy weekend, so I was bad with logging my miles :-( Friday, Feb 1st: 9.23 total miles (3.5 mph walk, rowing and elliptical machines, stationary bike) Sunday, Feb 3rd: 2.15 mile walk (3.0 mph) Current total: 11.38 miles Goal: 75 miles Remaining: 63.62 I may head out for a walk date with my hubby in a bit,…

Nothing to do with weight loss, but it has been over a month since my last cigarette. Today is day 32! I really meant it when I decided to quit this time, and it's working!

Bump, sounds yummy :-)

Snopes.com FDA.gov mayoclinic.com Heck, even Wikipedia, which I don't normally recommend as a reference. All places you can do a little research about this never ending scam. Unless you are a phenylketonuric, aspartame is safe. Yes, aspartame probably could kill you or cause MS or lupus or some other awful, painful…

I had this problem too. Be careful with Fiber One cereal or bars; they can cause really painful gas and sometimes they don't help with the "go" problem at all, so you're uncomfortably constipated AND in agony. No good. What worked well for me was benefiber chews, LOTS of water, and walking. Prunes don't hurt either. I…

I'm in for 75 miles in February!

I'm in!

^^ This, especially when I have to face reality and admit that my clothes didn't shrink, I grew :-/ I happy that lately my clothes seem to be growing in the wash :-)

I really love food, so like everyone else is saying, I have to do both portion control and quality control. I still eat pizza and chinese food because I love them, and I absolutely refuse to give up chocolate. I've discovered that I can eat a lot more when I eat healthier food though, so I have learned lots of ways to…

This is a fad diet. And there isn't any scientific evidence that fasting has any effect on cellular regeneration/repair. If you lose weight, it'll be because of the calorie deficit, not because fasting made you healthier. Best of luck!

Macaroni and cheese... the kind in a box with a squeeze pouch of cheese!

I'm 5'7". CW: 162 GW: 145 Goal BF%: 20% I've weighed as little as 130 before, but that was nearly impossible to maintain and I looked sick. 145 is a good weight for my build, and is easy to maintain. My hubby and I are also trying to get pregnant, so if that happens before I reach 145, well, my goal then will be to gain…

In and done! 75 forward, 80 back (I forgot to stop) and then 50 in front. Thanks for the challenge!

Once you lose enough weight, the MFP apps for mobile devices will recommend that you adjust your calorie goals, so all you do is go in and reupdate your weight loss goal (one pound per week or whatever) and your new calorie goal will be calculated. On the main site, I've never seen a recommendation, but I'd think it would…

Here's an easy one, and it's really good. 3-4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves 2 good sized lemons (or 3 small ones) about 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, torn or cut in strips 2-3 garlic cloves, thinly sliced olive oil Preheat the oven to 350. Place the chicken in a baking dish. Top with garlic slices, then torn basil…

Moose/Happy/Bunny Tracks (depends on the brand, and I like all three!) or Ben and Jerry's Chunky Monkey. Or the frozen greek yogurt recipes I created for healthy ice cream at home; my strawberry and tropical are both pretty tasty! That's what I usually eat if I'm going to have ice cream, because my recipes fit my calorie…
