  • check this out......guidelines at the bottom of the article http://www.telegraph.co.uk/lifestyle/9480451/The-52-diet-can-it-help-you-lose-weight-and-live-longer.html
  • Without knowing if you have access to a fridge and microwave...... I take either cereal with fruit and a yogurt or protein bar and yogurt for breakfast = 300 Lunch is from a meal I've prepared at the beginning of the week and usually = 300 Here's what I made today and am totally 110% satisfied (I'm vegetarian) : whole…
  • Just started 5:2 yesterday and I was surprised how easy it was. Aside for 3 hours after I ate my protein bar/yogurt for breakfast, I felt little to no hunger. Today I've eaten my normal target and haven't craved beyond that. Hoping to see a loss at the end of week #1. I will say that yesterday during fast I had greater…
  • You're thinking of BMR which is baseline cals needed to nothing but supply enough energy to keep your organs viable. TDEE= total daily energy expenditure, which is amount of cals needed to do everything including workout etc...
in TDEE? Comment by jillebean60 August 2012
  • Holla!! Totally going to freeze some pumpkin and do a pumpkin pie frozen yogurt! Thanks for the idea :)
  • I slice bananas and keep them in freezer (1 baggie per banana) then microwave for 10 secs and blend protein pwd with vanilla yogurt, a tsp of reduced fat Jif peanut butter. I use as a meal replacement. SO good!!!!!!! Peanut butter banana smoothie. It's thick enough to eat like frozen yogurt from a bowl.
  • Yep- feeling your pain. I was right there a couple days ago and decided to do this: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/lifestyle/9480451/The-52-diet-can-it-help-you-lose-weight-and-live-longer.html
  • You should aim to eat calorie allotment with correct amounts of carbs, protein and fats. Adjust your menu accordingly by carefully assessing nutrients. You'll feel better and be healthier for it and then able to make it a lifestyle habit to know what you're eating.
  • There are claims that you lose in reverse of how you gained. So with that logic, if you started gaining in your mid section(as most do) first and then limbs later, you'd lose in the limbs first and mid section later. I tend to think that you just have more fat stored there so it will take longer to notice than the smaller…
  • I'm sure with that intense workout schedule you'd have to eat back some of your cals or be starving. That's the million $$ ?? and I think it's different for everyone..... how much to eat back? I gave up with trying to figure it out and started 5:2 fast. Good luck
  • @ TOM your body will try to compensate by increasing your appetite to adjust for blood loss...... Drink more and eat iron rich vegetables and proteins. The proteins especially should help with the cravings and not cause too much problem on total calories. Best of luck. I well remember the days of feeling like I could eat…
  • You'd be surprised how good certain fruits and veggies taste when you're REALLY HUNGRY. I mean hungry hungry. Not just "it's time to eat" hungry. Stomach growling- been overdue for some sustenance for awhile. Try it and you might find a handful of fruits and vegetables you can incorporate.
  • • With the 5:2 diet, you can eat whatever you like five days a week — so-called feeding days. On the two “fasting days” you eat 500 calories if you are a woman, or 600 calories if you are a man. • It doesn’t matter which days are spent “feeding” and which “fasting”, as long as the fasting days are non-consecutive and you…
  • Nobody is ever too old to invest in their own appearance and health. Our self esteem affects nearly every, if not every, aspect of our lives. INVEST HARDCORE! And best to you on your journey!
  • During your TOM you need to make up for blood loss by drinking more fluids and I would suggest eating more iron rich protein. When you're starving- it's your body's way of trying to get you to take in something you're deficient in..... namely hemoglobin :)
  • After tons of research, here's what I found out and what is working for me: No way are you going to lose weight unless and until you get your progesterone: estrogen ratios back to manageable. You'll know they're back in good ratio when you #1 aren't so irritable #2 don't have hot flashes #3 have energy again #4 notice it's…
  • My guess is that you won't see a loss this week but will stay the same. That being said- try working out in the morning before eating as studies show you burn up to 67% more fat that way....... BUT be cautious about it. Do a slow burn- really keeping an eye on our HR!!! while using your quads however you get 'em moving ;)
  • Obviously sarcasm since you have 140 posts and nothing better to do with your time huh? ;)
  • Great job!! Congratulations!! All the hard work, consistency and effort have paid off big time :D
  • Incredible!! Congratulations!!! Total transformation :)
  • Eat what you want as long as it's high quality proteins, fats and comlex carbs in the form of whole grains, beans, legumes, vegetables, and fruit. So many good healthy carbs! Research and adapt your favorite recipes. It's quite easy once you start doing it- it just becomes a natural thing.... not a chore.
  • There's room in any diet for sugar and beer so long as you're consuming the amounts of protein and fat you need. After you've given your body what it needs, why not have an occasional treat? It's all about balance and doing the correct planning. KNOW what you're eating by weighing, measuring and planning.
  • Sounds like classic "afraid to fail" syndrome. Tell her that no matter how much she loses, or even *if* she loses, as long as she is starting to be aware of what and how much she's putting in her mouth that eventually the weight will come off. Best of luck! This is a tricky thing with a mate's "help". Been on the end of…
  • I say this with much kindness and concern. You have to get help with your eating disorder. Do it now. You'll be glad you did. You're tortured over a basic, necessary bodily function. So sorry :(
  • Bahahahah!!! Thanks for the laugh!
  • Not only heard of it but did it in the form of HCG diet last summer and I lost a TON of MUSCLE in the 28 lbs. lose. It was a diet based in desperation and not intelligence and I'm quite sure I burned some cardiac muscle in there also :( DO NOT think for one minute that it's safe or good in the long run. Sure you lose fast…
  • WIthout seeing your food diary or knowing how much you're working out, it's hard to say. When I first started on here a few weeks ago I had 20 lbs to lose and honestly it felt like it's taken a HUGE effort to lose 6 lbs. BUT- when I think of the fact that if I hadn't used the tools here and extensively educated myself…
  • Pure Protein bar and 2x Protein Greek yogurt = 310
  • Good ol' USA
  • I've been using Mama Mary's thin crust whole wheat pizza (1/3 of 12" pie is about 375 cals dressed).
