  • I lost tons of weight on low carb before. I have no idea why I stopped because it worked so well. I am doing it again with lots of success.
  • Thank you so much for your support everyone, I really needed it from my fellow low carbers who I know will understand what I am going through. I did not give up today and go on a carb fest like I so badly wanted, very proud of myself!!! I am about to go work out now but this time will not do it on an empty stomach and will…
  • They ended up not doing it. My third vaginal ultrasound (YUCK) in the past 2 weeks was done by the infertility endo and he said it would not be safe and I have to have surgery. Hopefully they will be able to fix it but I may end up waking up minus my left fallopian tube :(
  • Good luck with starting over. Feel free to add me as a friend :)
  • WOW! So inspiring!!! Very proud of you :)
  • I would wear the black one if it is an evening wedding and the other if it is a daytime one. You will look great either way.
  • YES, low carb works! However, it can be difficult. Living without bread, the carb I miss the most, sucks but it is very worth it. I stick to 25 net carbs or less per day and not only has it resulted in weight loss (just low cal was not) but my blood pressure and cholesterol are normal for the first time in years, without…
  • I have been on medications for high blood pressure and high cholesterol for many years. However, thanks to the low carb diet I have been doing my blood work came back normal for the first time in years, and I have been off the medications for months :)
  • When I have stopped because I cannot afford a refill or something getting back on can be hard with experiencing all of the side effects again until my body gets used to it. I would not stop unless you get your doctors ok. Just don't take it in front of anyone if you are afraid of worrying them or having to explain. I hope…

  • I have been told that if you drop below 1200 cal per day your body goes into "starvation mode" and then clings on to all the calories you eat and does not let them go. Thus, I would suggest eating at least 1200 cal per day. And, if you are watching your carbs there is no need to be so stringent about the fat, which keeps…
  • What part? I am in Bremerton.
  • I am in Bremerton, WA so far you are the person that lives closest to me but it is still over the mountains :)
  • You know you are a low-carber when you tell the server to not bring bread to your table and to hold the croutons on your salad because you are on a diet then ask for butter to spread on your steak. The looks on their faces.... priceless!
  • Thanks caraislite!
  • Sadly, it appears that your family is jealous and perhaps feeling threatened by you and your success. I know I can be guilty of that at times. I see my sister doing better than me and it can be hard to turn that jealousy into motivation. But, that is no excuse for what your family is putting you through. Get support…
  • Nothing can be substituted for peanut butter and jelly, unless you want to put peanut bitter on celery which is good. For hot sandwiches I have not found a substitute, (how do you do grilled cheese without bread?). For lunch meat sandwiches you can use big crisp leaves of lettuce as bread replacement and with may or…
  • What an inspiring story! Thank you so much for sharing it. My goal is by next year to be at my goal weight or be pregnant, thanks for the motivation in showing what a difference a year can make :)
  • Welcome and add me as a friend. For me bored and hungry get confusing so I try to remind myself to drink a bottle of water then evaluate whether or not I want to eat. For me low calorie alone does not work, I have to go super low carb too. I tried South Beach with minimal success, Atkins works best for me. I would…
  • I went off yesterday and gained back 3.6 pounds in one day and almost nothing I ate yesterday was really even worth it. Good luck to both of us as we get back on track and stay there :)
  • Low carb cake recipe 1 cup coconut flour 1/2 cup almond flour 1 cup almond milk 1 1/2 cups coconut milk 12 eggs 24 packets splenda 3 tablespoons baking powder 2-3 tsp almond extract (flavor) 2-3 tsp lemon extract (I have altered this to be more cake like by adding vanilla extract instead) I've made this into muffins and in…
  • Thank you so much for sharing the story. Just think of all the great hand me downs you will get from your cousin for your own baby now! I struggle to be motivated by success stories instead of jealous, so thanks for a pointer in the right direction.
  • Congratulations on finishing college!!!! Add me as a friend, we can help keep each other accountable.
  • If they won't give you metoformin I would find a doctor that will.
  • I have been on metformin for so long I wonder if it is even still effective. I was put on it when I was first diagnosed with PCOS 13 years ago and was insulun resistant but it turned into diabetes anyway. I am seeing an endocrinologist at the end of the month, hopefully something new can be done.
  • Good luck to you and your husband. We have been trying since we got married last August. Like you I am hoping that loosing weight helps.
  • What kind of surgery did you have?
  • I was recently put on Chromium, but my doctor said it was for the diabetes. What was the dosage your wife was on? Congrats to you both on baby number 3 :)
  • TTC? does that mean trying to concieve?
  • I am so sorry to hear that, and it sounds like there must be more. Who would want to throw away 16 years just because he starts it most of the time? I start it about 90% of the time and wish my husband (of less than a year) would, as another member so aptly described it, pounce on me for a change. Your husband is lucky,…
