Thanks for sharing! It sounds like you have the will to do it! I always feel better when I cut out caffeine and alcohol. Best of luck to you in your journey!

I'm definitely down for cutting back. I've been drinking much less (1-2 drinks a week) since mid June. Before that, I haven't felt this great in years. You don't realize how much more you eat after you get a few drinks in you...

I was an overweight 12 year old. Frankly, it really didn't dawn on me that I was overweight until I started seeing pictures of myself with my friends. My parents tried to do what they could - I was very active, I just ate the wrong stuff and way too much of it. I think teens have to get there on their own. Have you thought…

I use an incline bench (and then a ball) and do crunches w/ a 15 lb medicine ball. I also do side bends and crunches on an incline with a 25 lb weight. Seems to work for me

I like adding just a little lowfat chocolate milk or some Odwalla Chocolate Protein shake to mine -- maybe 1/8 c or less.

Great job! I've got about 15 to go as well!

This one is my favorite - I drink a version of it every morning. It's a version of the Dr Hyman's Whole Food protein shake. It's right around 300 calories: Ingredients: 1c Frozen Cranberries 1c Frozen Strawberries 1/2 tsp Cacao Nibs 1 handful greens (chard, spinach, kale) 1 tsp Pepitas (pumpkin seeds) 1 oz Tofu - Firm 1/2…

I really like this youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPqiNVE_ij8 I've been listening for the 5-6 days (before I go to bed) and I feel like it's already making an impact. Everyone is different - obviously people will be skeptical and I believe that this is working for me because I 1) exercise regularly, and 2)…

The benefit/difficulty of not living in the same state as your parents : there is no Easter Basket, no Cadbury mini-eggs, no ham, no potatoes. No extra calories, but it also doesn't feel like much of a holiday either.

I really like WW -- I've done it online before, but lost the willpower and motivation just tracking online and ended my membership 7-8 months ago. I decided I wanted to try it again after some of my friends had some great success going to the meetings. At first I was a little skeptical, but after attending meetings now for…

I'm on it too! The meetings have been awesome for me. The support makes all the difference in the world!

After a month of having Raw Meal shakes for breakfast, I'm quite pleased with it. It's a bit grainy at first, but you get used to it. I drink mine with Silk unsweetened vanilla almond milk and it keeps me full for 4 hours - until lunch. I only use one scoop and add 16 oz milk. It's plenty thick with the one scoop. I've…

Not sure how this one will work out, but I just ordered Garden of Life Raw Meal: http://www.amazon.com/Garden-Life-Organic-Chocolate-Pound/dp/B007S6Y6VS/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top Unlike (almost) every other shake on the market, this one is 100% organic, vegan, soy, gluten, and dairy free. Reviews of this one are really…

Standing desks are very expensive and at my work, they require a Dr's note. One option (that's far less expensive) is a sit-stand keyboard tray. I had mine installed earlier this week and I can already feel a difference in my legs and my core is more engaged. Granted, it's a little tiring at first, but you start to get…

We can do this together!

I'm running the 1st Half of the SF Marathon in June! Looking forward to it... it will be my first in two years!

When I go on vacation, I make it a point to work out in the mornings -- maybe every other day. I am much more lenient with what I eat, but I don't abandon my diet all together. Enjoy!
-
So, I've been eating them now for the last 4 days -- mainly adding them to my protein shakes in the morning. I've already noticed that I've got more energy, that I'm fuller longer.... and let's just say that they're definitely keeping things (very!) regular.
-
*raises hand* I'll admit it! I tried it. Didn't do a thing for me.
-
I just tell them I can't eat X because I'm allergic or intolerant to Y ingredient. Works every time!

Thank you for posting. I made an appointment to have this done (and my thyroid checked) a few weeks ago. Curious to see what they have to say!

Amen to that! The Kombucha Chia is the worst. The consistency reminds me of tadpole eggs. Bought some today though -- going to add them to salads and my protein shakes.

Trader Joe's sells massive containers of Met-Rx Protein Powder (chocolate or vanilla) for $22. I've tried Advocare in the past, and have compared their shake with the Met-Rx shake - they're almost identical in calories and ingredients. I'd imagine BBV shakes are the same.
-
I've done Advocare in the past. Works surprisingly well, actually. Both Advocare and Body by Vi are direct selling, aka pyramid schemes, so just a head's up there. I've had experience with distributors of both - from my experience, Advocare is far less agressive. From what I understand, Body by Vi is a two shake a day…
