  • Hello. I started this past summer and lost a bit over 40 pounds so far. I'm your age and know that it isn't easy. Feel free to add me if you'd like, but only if you intend to stick with it and be active.
  • Best advice, make friends and commit to supporting them, then do it. The support in return is awesome. I've lost 23 lb in 50 days. My friends are awsome. I am also a cancer survivor, two times, but my weight gain was simply over eating. Stick with the plan, it really works. Make friends. Best wishes for your success.
  • Like many of you, I also like beer. Unfortunately I like the heavier porters and stouts that are full of flavor (calories). It was Ben Franklin who said, "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." How can you argue with that wise guy. And you've seen the pictures of him with a bit of a beer gut. I really…

  • The only good thing about that chicken is that it's so well done that the meat falls off the bones. Many years ago, my mom who was a single mother of three trying to make ends meet, would make chicken and dumplings with canned chicken. You plop it in a big bowl and sift through the meat, removing bones, until you're…
  • I can be added... lost 14.5 pounds in less than a month by knowing what i'm eating and support from my dear friends.
  • Add me if you'd like. Colon cancer free since 1994. 'cept for a skin cancer a few years ago.
  • A mouse trap set on top of the alarm clock's snooze button might help.
  • Anyone can feel free to send me a friend request. I'll be 58 near year-end, so I suppose I could be classified as "older" as much much as I don't feel like it. So, add me!
  • I lost either my head and a guinea pig, or my skin and brain. Somehow none of those things sounds good, but I do feel better.
  • Hello RejoicingL. I'm Drew from Pearland, TX just south of Houston. Welcome aboard. You have a long way to go, but I know with 100% certainty that it'll be worth it. You started your post with a comment about "I am scared ... terrified really." You're still in the first half of your life. I hope that you get excited about…
  • Hi Kim, I'm Drew. 57 and live in Texas, USA. Welcome to the MFP community. I glanced at your profile and see we both are trying to lost the same amount. • Hello fellow Houstonians. I'm Drew, living in Pearland. I'm looking for and hoping to provide support to others who are on a weight loss journey. I'm glad to be here - MFP is amazing. I'm looking to lose about 75 pounds so I think I'll be here for a while. Feel free to send a friend request if you want some encouragement…
  • Hot n' humid Houston, Texas area is where I'm living now. Howdy.
  • Good for you!!! I just started this also and lost 7 pounds in a few days and have put back on a couple, but I expect to be down more tomorow. Isn't this application great? Feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like support.
  • There are about 236 grams per cup. Here's a link to a good conversion site... http://calculator-converter.com/converter_g_to_c_grams_to_cups_calculator.php Please feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like. I'm just starting out also and would appreciate whatever support I can get.
  • Take a donut in a napkin to the ladies room. Dip the edge of the donut in the toilet. Then look at it. It isn't that appetizing. Then next time you look at a box of donuts, remind yourself that you really don't know where they have been. That can be said of most food brought into offices, you just don't know where it has…
  • Great success! You're an inspiration. I've only been doing this for a week and lost 6 pounds. It's stories like yours that will keep me motivated. Thanks for sharing.
