Read Ketoclarity. I started on October 2nd and am down 15 Lbs. It does take some time to adjust to the changes, physically and mentally. I am still trying to wrap my head around it as it goes against everything we have been taught and force fed regarding nutrition. The book is helping explain. My two big takeaways so far…

That is a great way to look at it. I lost 68lbs on MFP and 30lbs before I found MFP. I couldn't imagine carrying almost a hundred pounds around for even 10 minutes. And to think, I was doing it everyday.

Another thing, I stopped taking my acid reflux medicine. I've had to take it for many years just to keep it under control. Now? I stopped cold turkey, and only have a very mild episode once every great while. Previously I couldn't go a day without it, it was unbearable.

Great post and a big congratulations to everyone on it. As a 50 y.o,. male and down 100 lbs., you are right. It may be more difficult but it is definitely doable. Cheers

In the end, I got the car, but you could tell he was ready to bail out!

My *kitten* hurts if I sit for to long. I guess it's a signal to get up and move!

What everyone here said, pushups. When I started the "7 weeks to 100 pushups" I could barely eke out 2 correct pushups. I'm now doing multiple sets of 15's and 20's. Do some reading to make sure you have the correct form and start slow, you will be amazed at yourself in no time. Now, GO

Founders Breakfast Stout FTW.

Try it with some diced avocado, a squeeze of fresh lime juice and a little bit of hot sauce. Awesome!

I have bones! Bones, I tell you. Hip bones, collar bones, ribs! Ribs? Where the hell did these come from?

Beer. I cut out beer because it's so high in calories. Now I pick out a craft brew that I have been wanting to try and just stick to one and still stay within my goals.

Haha, I'm going to try most of these, they don't sound weird at all! Mashed avocado mixed with cottage cheese with the juice from half of a lime and hot sauce. I could, and have, eaten that for dinner.

Seasoned with a little Thyme and salt a little bit of oil to keep from sticking topped with very thin slices of orange baked at 375F until flaky, depends on the thickness, could be 12-20 minutes. Keep an eye on it. Couldn't be simpler and damned tasty!

Go ahead and ad me. I'm in a similar category as you. I dropped 87 lbs so far but without much exercise besides walking a whole lot. I'm going to start weight training in Feb. (I've got some minor surgery in Jan.). Good luck to you.

Well hell yes! I also remember not sitting in booths at restaurants because I couldn't fit. Go man Go!

Well I started this journey just about a year ago. And sorry, I don't have any pics. I'm 49, 6'2", my starting weight was a very unhealthy 330, I'm now down to 243, 9" off my waist. MFP played a huge part in my lifestyle change. You really have no idea (or at least I didn't) what you are putting in you on a daily basis…

Between the side dishes (butter and more butter, in everything) and eating deserts, yes that's plural, I'm guessing I was about 4000 over. Crap, that's over a pound of body weight. But the good news is I'm right back on track. I also noticed that deserts are not tasting as good as I thought there were. It just tastes…

Yep, me too. When I started using this and saw it was just a numbers game (well, with some self restraint thrown in) it all clicked for me. Still tough at times, but the results are worth it. Good on you, keep it up!

You know, as a guy, I have never understood the man dictating if a women can cut their hair or not (and yes there are people I know like this). IT'S HER F*****G HAIR, NOT YOURS! Sorry, I got out of hand. Good for you, it looks great.

If you just want a straight up pedometer, you can't beat this one. I bought mine in March and have been using it since then. If you set it up correctly it seems very accurate, I compared it to my GPS on several long walks and it is very close. This along with MFP have been the basis for my 80lb and counting weight loss. I…

Great info. Saving and passing it on. Thanks

It does get easier, but it is never easy. Does that make sense? On the other hand, it will be so worth it. You only started on Monday, you have to give your head some time to realign itself. You can do this, just look around these message boards and read the success stories, they always helped me. Cheers

Well I know from my situation that one of the side benefits from eating less was that I spent far less money on food. I cut out all the fast food and snacks and most, but not all, restaurant meals. It's expensive eating out. It's a win-win!

Ad me on. I may not be the most verbose fellow but I'm an open book! Diary is unlocked and I log EVERYTHING that passes my lips. Welcome aboard. Sean

So I read the sticky again. I changed the letters to lower case and sent a test email to myself and it still won't show the pic. Also, I can't go back and edit my original post, or at least I don't see the edit button anymore. Oh well. Have a day! Cheers

Welcome. I dropped 70 lbs this year already with another 30 to go. I really don't think I would have/could have done this without MFP. It's so easy to track your intake. And to think I discovered it kind of accidentally. So log EVERYTHING that you eat, even if you are having a bad day. You will start to see how what you…

Everyone, thanks so much. Great suggestions. Keep them coming. Trainer, never thought about that, good idea. I'll see what they have where I go. Yeah, I joined a small gym close to my home. As far as my goal, I've never really thought about it, I suppose I should. I just want to be healthy, and strong. I started at 330lbs.…

Two-a-day here. I just ask myself, "What's better, that banana or a hostess fruit pie?" Well heck, the banana wins every time!

Yes, everyday is a a day with no mistakes. Everyone falls, get back up and try again. I keep two pictures in my head at all times. One is where I started, at 330lbs. totally flabby, and the other is my goal, 230lbs and fit and feeling good. Whenever I need to make a choice on what to eat, whether it's ordering out, at work…
