  • I have seen this before but it always gives me reason to pause. My husband has been a green beret in the army for over 32 years. He has served unaccompanied (without family) all over the world. My son in law is in Iraq as I type this and will miss Christmas with my daughter and their three year old son. It is a sacrifice…
  • I am a vegetarian and have been thinking a lot lately about going vegan. As far as food goes looks like you got the advice needed: morning star frozen products, Amy's frozen products, beans and any dairy or egg products. The only advice I have to give is to be very cautious about cheese. Most cheese has animal rennet in it…
  • Hmmmmmmm, With Easter being five weeks away I think I will try one week at a time....so here it goes: #1 cardio at least 5 days a week #2 weights 3 days a week #3 bikram at least 1 day a week #4 meditate daily for at least 10 minutes (very hard for me) #5 no soda That ought to take care of week #1.
  • lite yogurt, 1/2 cup of Kashi go lean cereal and a mini box of raisins a kazillion cups of coffee
  • My weight is the same and has been for the past two weeks so I did my measurements and I have lost a total of 4 1/2 inches:glasses: !! Of course needless to say I lost 2 inches in my bust and 1/2 of an inch in my hips.....if only it were the other way around!
  • Just about every morning I have a breyers light yougurt (80 cals) 1/2 cup of Kashi Friends (85 cals) with a mini box of raisins (45cals) for a total of 210 calories. Seems to satisfy my cravings after my morning workout.
  • Congratulations! You have been and are an inspiration with all of your help via recipes, etc. I know you are very proud of yourself. I have 5 pounds to go so I am looking forward to you braving this new territory before me and giving me your experience. :drinker: Thanks, Z
  • Way to go! Keep up the good work, reading that you have busted through a plateau is an inspiration! Guess I will keep plugging along! :flowerforyou:
  • Hello, I am a vegetarian as is my 15 year old daughter. It is really great finding these web sites because it is easy to get in a rut of "the same old thing"....the other side of that coin is that it is almost impossible to be a fast food junkie! I am so glad to see Sarah recommend the Vegetarian Cooking for everyone, I…
  • This is a great web site. Thanks!
  • 4 pounds
  • Welcome, no better time like the present! Staying healthy for our children and grandchildren are not only a great motivator for us but a great example to them, as well.
  • I am at the gym every morning when it opens. I find that if I can get my workout done before work my success rate is 100%! Otherwise, I can come up with a million reasons as to why I cannot workout in the evening. Another bonus for doing it at 5 in the a.m. is that I do not think about how I look, give me a hat and…

  • Ohmigod! I just took the USA today test and all three candidates that match my criteria are democrats! I have voted republican all of my life, Ronald Regan's first term was my first time to vote. That is a great site, thanks. Can't wait to have my husband fill out the questions (30 years in the military) hee, hee, hee.…
  • Love all Quorn products, especially the (pretend) chicken patties with the white cheese and breading! My husband is not a vegetarian, yet he never complains when we are having those for dinner. Worst thing is the product is hard to find in my area so I try to get to Whole Foods in Raleigh every three weeks or so.
  • welcome aboard
  • Welcome:smile: Hopefully you can teach us some new recipes from your heritage!
  • Something else that really shocked me was servings per package. If I bought a vegetarian burrito frozen meal, I would check the calories...when it said 240 I was good to go right? Wrong! The suggested serving size was half a burrito! Come on...who eats half of their frozen dinner...and do what...save the other half for a…
  • I feel very sorry for the person that said that to you. Imagine what must be going on in her life to make her so insensitive and crass. Don't let her "stuff" get you down. What a magnificent thing that you have done by quitting smoking. You have already made the biggest health decision that you can possibly make in your…
  • Welcome, the more the merrier!:drinker:
  • Welcome, glad to have you.
  • Keep on keeping on! One of the most frustrating things that I have learned to accept is that our (women) bodies have a whole lot of stuff going on, constantly! Wish it was more of a science like on day 27 add 1.6 pounds to the female physique then subtract said amount four days following. No such luck! Be strong and…
  • Girl I live in North Carolina and they fry everything here! Okra, mushrooms cauliflour, twinkies, reeses cups, ice cream...you name it! Raised in Florida where we ate lots of broiled fish and veggies, definately a culture shock. After 14 years here I have gotten use to the fact that tea is actually sweet tea and your…
  • Sounds really yummy, even if it is brussel sprouts! Going to try this weekend and will let you know...
