  • Wow, thanks for sharing. Great story. Great guy.
  • Awesome! Was nervous I was going to have to do more cardio or eat less! :flowerforyou: I truly appreciate this message board and all of the good, solid support and information you both give to people with a wide variety of lifting experience. Thank you both for your time!
  • Performance and hunger: I'm mixed about this. My fourth weak into all of this I was feeling weak, grouchy, and had major hunger fluctuations. I didn't have cravings per se but was just hungry and felt weird. I upped my calories closer to what Scooby says is probably my TDEE (1750) and felt better. I am nervous that maybe…
  • I make Jamie Eason's protein bars. She makes them in different flavors but my favorite is chocolate. They are super quick and have lots of protein with few carbs. I make a pan and it last me a week.
  • 3 T of egg whites, honey, berries, cinnamon, PB2 or just plain peanut butter.
  • I've seen more change in my body (not really the scale) when I have lifted heavier for less. When I lifted less for more, I saw more changes on the scale but not on measurements. I will take the measurements. :) Also, it is kind of fun to feel strong.
  • I think it depends on your goals regarding weights. If you are wanting to gain muscle mass (beyond the newbie gains), then you will need to eat all your calories (no deficit) at least. This will slowly add muscle. If you are trying to lose weight while maintaining the muscle mass you have, you eat at a deficit. This sounds…
  • I cannot stand armbands. I use a "flipbelt" and love it. Holds my phone, key, card...I'm good to go.
  • I'm 5'10 and weigh 177. My waist is currently 33 in. I tend to be more hourglass shaped though so my waist is one of the quickest places to move inches. Not complaining! :) Good luck!
  • Loved it! I didn't loose a lot of weight (bad diet) but firmed up and lost major inches which I guess is about the same thing. :) But better. I liked that the videos are short but I really felt each work out. My butt has never looked so good thanks to the squats and lunges. Good luck.
  • I just finished the program and was slightly disappointed when I finished my first 5k at 34 minutes...then I checked myself and did some research. Running fast doesn't come naturally to many people...they are usually people that have been training for years and are dedicated runners..not people, like myself, that just…
  • I can't help with the well endowed; although I know REI provides a wide range of sizes in sports bras. Regarding the running...for me, the first two weeks were the worst and I did have to repeat a few days (if I didn't do the exact training I would repeat it until I could do it) but I didn't beat myself up about it. I will…
  • I had this same problem and after talking with my husband...who runs all of the time...and going running with him, he noticed that I tend to scrunch my shoulders forward. They should be pushed back and dropped down from your ears. After I changed this, I noticed a difference. Hope this helps!
  • Wow! First of all, it is great that you can already run a mile without stopping and at that time. Most people who run a 5k for the first time must build up slower than that...or at least I did. :) I recently ran my first one and came in at around 32 minutes. I had injured myself three weeks early so I had to take some time…
  • I call foul also! I used to teach High school English but this year I moved to 5th grade special ed. I was on my feet then and am now too. I got a fit bit a few months ago and I put somewhere between 2-3 miles on everyday during work. Fun times. :)
  • I'm 5'10 and my husband is 5'3. I never, ever, never dated a shorter guy before him but love is love. He treated me better than anyone before...that was 14 years ago. :) He is confident and could care less what people think about him. My dad makes fun of him and he shruggs and smiles. :) Sometimes, in pictures, I look…
  • Great job! You will love Chalean. I'm on Week 2 of the Push Phase and although I sometimes modify (knee issues) I have lost over 10 inches. It is really important to take your measurements before starting Chalean. I've only lost 5 lbs but have gone down a pants size. Enjoy!
  • My mom and dad always told us that tall people were lucky...we can weigh more and look skinny...reach things, see over other people, and look confident. They both wore their height with pride which helped me.
  • Thanks, that helped a lot. Good guidance.
  • High school English teacher turned Special Educator going to Elementary (ACK!!!) this year. Last year I lost 25 pounds during the school year by doing a few things. I made sure to always plan my lunches for the week and sometimes packed a few days in advance. I also took lots of snacks and made sure my desk always had…
  • Also a teacher...another suggestion: I bought a miniture, portable crockpot for lunches. I plug it in and it is ready by lunch time. This way I don't have to wait in the microwave line. I bought it off of amazon for 19.99. Love it.
