  • Oh- one more! Ground turkey!! Jennie-O 93/7 Ground Turkey. I get ground turkey, mix in some chopped onion and red/green bell peppers, and a little garlic and grill up (5) 4oz. turkey patties Keep them in a tupperware in the fridge to eat throughout the week. Just pull one out, add a dollop of my favorite BBQ sauce (a TINY…
  • My favorite is Greek yogurt. Dannon Light n Fit Greek (only 80 cals for a conatiner!) Or I get Trader Joe's 0% fat plain Greek, and top it with pomegranate seeds... so good! Other sources: a dollop of peanut butter - you can even add it into plain greek yogurt to make it better (I can't eat it alone - too tart). Hard…
  • way to go! Keep up the good work!
  • 2 things come to mind: my Heart Rate Monitor (HRM)... I love wearing it to every workout (with chest strap of course, for accurate read!) to set a goal for myself. Like, if I am almost at the end of my workout and I'm at 750 cals burn, I'll kick it up to reach 800 calories burned! I love seeing how hard I worked during a…
  • Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time... hopefully you are pulling thru and can get back on track with everything. Talk with your doctor or a close friend when you feel ready. Until then, just do your best for yourself and your family. Just remember-- when you eat better and move more, you feel better... helps with…
  • Do you have a Trader Joe's in your area (can't see where you live)? They make 2 dressings that I swear by! One is their Champagne Pear Vinaigrette with Gorgonzola... I believe it's just 40 cals for 2 tbs.... and I hardly ever use 2 tbs on a big sald-- 1.5 is enough! They also make a Cilantro dressing that's yummy and low…
  • We were at Disney World back in April, and I wore my pedometer most days just to see how much I walked. Like you- I think in an 8 hour day at a park, I walked around 5-8 miles. Not fast, but still-- lots of walking. I tried to be mindful of what I ate-- but I was away and not able to prep food at home (obviously!) so I was…
  • me too. Do great all day- then at about 9pm - I want chips and crackers with peanut butter and popcorn and cereal and all sorts of goodies. Sometimes I give in, sometimes I just go to bed. I guess the only advice I can give (to you and me!) is either: go to bed, don't bring the junk food that you snack on into the house,…
  • Go to Food Tab, then Recipe Tab, then over to 'Create New Recipe' It can be used for something you make over and over and over - so you dont always have to enter it again and again. Or - you can use it just one time-- if you're making a dish that has a lot of components. I love it-- I have about 30 of my own recipes…
  • Just got done raving about this on another post about snacks... so here it is again! Only 80 cals (compared to 100-150 for all the other greek yogurts!) and less sugar, carbs and sodium than the others. 0 fat, 12g of protein... keeps me held over between meals
  • If trying Greek Yogurt-- maybe try the Dannon Light n Fit Greek. It has the lowest cals for sure!! I have looked at a lot of them, and for a serving (usually a 5.3oz cup) the Dannon ones are 80 cals (all others are at least 100 cals, a lot of them at 130 or 150!) and it has less sugar and less sodium than most. 0 fat on…
  • How will you get to the gym? If driving, maybe the closer, but more expensive one is better-- because you'll spend the extra $20 in gas going to the far away gym so much (right? Because you're going to go 4-5 x a week!!) So if you plan to go often, I'd say go closer, spend the extra and save gas! You'll probably be more…
  • I'd like to think HRM's are accurate, though I always subtract about 10% of what it says-- just to be safe! After all, you're burning SOME calories even without exercising (we all burn X amount of calories per hour, just by 'being') ... But 800 cals for 40 minutes on treadmill sounds kind of high. Unless you were GOING!…
  • TinyPic is the way to go! Go to tinypic.com 1. on first page, upload your image - resize to message board size (I always scale mine 1st, so I've never had to resize) 2. type in 'secret code' they give you 3.after it uploads, highight n copy (cut n paste) the url for 'message boards' (2nd option) 4. Come back here to your…
  • Like she ^^ said, you burn cals just by being alive. Check out your BMR (basal metabollic rate) or RMR (resting metabollic rate). You will burn calories (usually between 1000-2000 I think) just by having your brain function, your liver function, your lungs work. If you were in a hospital bed totally immobile and just…
  • Saw it and agree with all that has been said (full of excuses, how did she gain all of that, etc). But the one thing I remember saying last night as I watched, was how Trina seemed so child-like. I told my husband (who came in halfway thru) a brief description of who she was and what her story was...and I said to him, "She…
  • I always subtract about 10%, partly because I'd rather err on the side of caution (did I *REALLY* burn 800 calories in an hour of super high intensity cardio-kickboxing?!) but also to offset the calories I burn as part of my TDEE or 'just by being alive!' Now to read that link- thanks!
  • You look absolutely gorgeous! Especially the dirty feet - hahah! Looks like you've been out doing some fun stuff- gardening, running, gettin' dirty! Love it! I too am 5'7''...but havent seen 135 since...high school? I'm also 20 yrs older than you - but maybe this is what I would look like if I ever got that low.…
  • THIS! Grease is my all time fave, love the music and the high school silliness, and of course the Pink Ladies and T-birds ! But my follow up is The Outsiders- love the whole Greasers vs. Soc's thing. Go Greasers!!!
  • Change it up. Regarding exercise, remember this: F.I.T. F: Frequency - if you're exercising 4 times a week, kick it up to 5 or 6! I: Intensity - Kick up the INTENSITY of your work out, walk faster, swim harder, do more reps T: Time - If your workouts are currently 30 mins, make them 45! This helps get away from that…
  • What she said. I mean, what is a good source? If not the internet, not WebMD, not a blog, not a company that sells water (and presumably has done some research on it's product), then.... I guess it has to come straight from ... who? A dietician? I could say: "my dietician told me a lot of people confuse thirst for hunger",…
  • I was a 40DD when I started... and I was close to your weight (a bit more). At about the 6 month mark (50lbs lost), I noticed some small changes-- nothing major. But then... BAM! It just happened. Almost overnight! Where have my boobs gone?! They are still (I suppose) considered ok in size 38C now, but the shape... hmmm...…
  • Sodium is ALWAYS the killer at restaurants. They post the calories, I think I do well by choosing something that's maybe 550 cals or so-- then I get home and see that it has ALL the sodium I want for a day! ARGH! Oh well- like you said- one meal, one day. Drink a ton of water and start fresh tomorrow! No biggie!
  • Dang! Look at those guns! That's what I'm working towards! Dropped 80lbs, but want some ARMS! Way to go- keep up the great work!! You look FAB!
  • But if you're already at 34g of sugar and you've only had that shake, as well as what sounds to be a low sugar smoothie you made yourself with tons of veggies, then the bulk of that is coming from that 'complete meal shake'. And since it's not really 'food' per se - it must have a lot of added sugar? Maybe you can search…
  • Way to go! Over 100lbs in 6mo's... you're rockin' it! Keep up the good work!!
  • After picking all this stuff from our garden this weekend.... I decided to make Turkey Chili!! It was delicious, but a little high in sodium (due to flavor packet, etc). Next time, I add my own spices, no packet! Served along with some 'Zucchini Tots'... think tater tot, but made w/ zuch instead! yum!!
  • You must have a RAD husband if he got you a Dropkick Murphys tee for Xmas! Sweet!
  • I agree with THIS! "Exercise for the sake of exercising" - where you put on your shoes and your workout clothes and go get your sweat on! If you think about it-- you got to where you're at (where ever that is, but I assume, wanting to lose weight) doing things like, walking to the shops to go grocery shopping--- right? I…
