So today was my first day using a HRM and I logged my activity while strength training (legs) and my HRM (Polar FT7) recorded 734 calories for a 56 min session.
My question is, should I subtract 100 calories or so from that number? My BMR is about 2600 (height/weight/age entered into HRM watch), and as far as I can tell, the HRM doesn't distinguish from your BMR hourly burn and your activity burn.
Any advice on this would be great. What a huge difference from the 200-300 calorie "template" on MFP!

Now to go do some cardio to make up for the extra food after eating back some of those exaggerated calories!0 -
I always subtract about 10%, partly because I'd rather err on the side of caution (did I *REALLY* burn 800 calories in an hour of super high intensity cardio-kickboxing?!) but also to offset the calories I burn as part of my TDEE or 'just by being alive!'
Now to read that link- thanks!0
