I think it's very worth it, especially just for 3 sessions. It's great to get feedback and I am learning so much more with the individual attention.

Wear a heart rate monitor and enter the calorie burn it gives you...

I'm getting to really like rowing... I'll log 10 sessions by the end of the month I hope!
-
Yeah, it sounds like it's time to leave what you're doing behind and get some sessions with a trainer to start lifting dumbbells and barbells. Bodyweight exercises are also great if done with good form. Good luck!

Hi there Moms- I am 6 weeks PP with my second, and logging in here for the first time in months. I need all the support and friends I can get, so I'll be adding a bunch of you. I lost 40 pounds before I got pregnant again, and I've regained more than I had hoped. I am going to be working up to more exercise over the next…

I like Suzanne Bowen's Long and Lean Pregnancy... I found it on Amazon.

I wouldn't want to have a BMI restriction on me for the third trimester, it's really amazing how fast the baby grows at that point. Third trimester can be hard, and you never know if complications might arise. Besides, I really think that hospitals are the best places to give birth. I had such a great experience, I highly…

What an inspiration... Congrats and you should be so proud of yourself. Thanks for sharing!

I don't know if other people have said this, but great job on eating so reasonably while reaching your goals... I read IPOARM and changed my thinking too, I eat about 1800 most days, sometimes more and sometimes less and I exercise a LOT. I feel great and I am 40 pounds down... So nice to see someone who's not eating only…

Massage is a favorite, but new clothes are always a treat. I am looking for a nice dress next :)

How many carbs are you talking about? And is it potato chips and fries? Or whole grains? Vegetables? Brown rice? Whole wheat bread? I think that eating junk just makes me want to eat more junk, but if I eat healthy I feel more satisfied. Drink plenty of water too...

Congratulations and thanks for sharing the pictures... You look great!

Ballet Body Dvds by Leah Sarago.... Really great workouts, though she does use hand weights for part of the upper body section. It's well worth it!
-
Check out Leah Sarago and her Ballet Body workouts. She does exercises that develop long and lean muscles, eccentric contractions and isometric holds.

I do Ballet Body by Leah Sarago and her upper body workout is really awesome (difficult but good). I might hurl insults at my tv during the workout, but I am getting great results and i am so much stronger. All of her workouts are great- go slowly, take breaks, and stick with it :)
-
Yeah be patient... I know it's hard when you want to see results. Time of the month plays a bigger role for me than I want it to- I have to disregard a whole week basically. I'm 5'5" and I exercise every day, and i eat between 1500 and 1700 calories a day, sometimes 1800+. I eat back some but not all exercise calories. In…

I don't have any personal experience, but I just read this amazing article and I think you might be interested. This whole field of study will probably reshape how we think about health and medicine in this century... http://www.economist.com/node/21560523

Check out Leah Sarago DVD's- Ballet Body/Warrior/Release. She has some really awesome core strengthening exercises, and actually all of her workouts are awesome. There's also a DVD she did with Suzanne Bowen called Long and Lean Pregnancy and it has a postpartum ab segment.

Don't listen to any advice you get here and talk to your doctor!

I use DVD workouts by Leah Sarago, called Warrior, Release, and Ballet Body (really hard!) It's really awesome and a great workout. All you need is a mat. For Ballet Body you need a chair to hold onto and 3 lb. weights.

yeah, my staples are chicken breasts, sliced turkey, swordfish, salmon, chicken sausage, beans, lentils, hummus, fat free Greek yogurt, almonds.... Once in a while we'll have pork loin. Another good one is a very lean, high quality steak. The American Diabetic Association recommends cuts with the word "loin" in it-…

Today is a really awesome day to not drink. You can do this.

Almost 3 years sober! So glad you're here, I have a little one as well. Feel free to add me as a friend!

I have a Skinny Cow Ice cream sandwich usually. Some days I have chocolate. I love it!

Yeah, ditch the treadmill and use the elliptical if you're working out indoors. I really love walking though. Try to find a nice park or trail or someplace beautiful near you and walk there just to be outside and get fresh air. There's a Lake near me with a great 5 mile trail that I go to all the time. It makes the time…

Hey there! You are not alone... Please friend me- I have a bunch of friends who are also newish moms and it's been really great to have the support. We "met" each other through Fitbit, there's a group there called Fitbit moms. You might consider getting a Fitbit actually, it gives really great motivation to be overall more…

Add me if you'd like! I am friends with a bunch of moms and we all support each other, it's great.

Wow, thanks so much for sharing this. Look at all that hard work you did- amazing!
-
Wow, you are a real inspiration and I am so happy for you. Keep up the good work, and keep it healthy... I really needed a boost this morning and you've done that for me. I think I get really impatient, I need to work on that.

Because it counts stairs and hills differently than regular steps... Plus it tracks your sleep, which is very important to overall health. And it syncs so well with MFP. Worth every penny!
