  • Switched from Lattes to Long Blacks when started this. Only 2 calories and cheaper. Now really enjoy the coffee and not tainted with milk which can vary so much in taste depending on how it heated. Also a cup of hot water with a slice of lemon hits the sweet tooth and only 2 calories too.
  • Which would make it "pretty intense" for you.... :)
  • QUOTE: I lost 35 pounds by walking. last 5k I did, was mostly walking. I go by my HRM, and keep my beats per minute around 135-140. (doctor says not to exceed 150) Walks are usually around 4.0 mph. Worked for me! END QUOTE I'd say you lost most of your weight from eating less and the walking helped. Must be pretty…
  • Sorry OP missed your point on CX. Have never done it but probably should. I figure most classes do an ab track so covered with that
  • As a female i would do Pump twice a week and the cardio you enjoy the rest. I try and do pump 3 times a week( as a male) and really push the weights. Has been great for weight loss and overall toning when combined with intense cardio (attack, spin or step) once a week. Once get a flat stomach will revert to intense low rep…
  • Good to hear. Water and black coffee. Not really have soda anymore unless i'm having alcohol with it. Don't miss it at all.

  • I do weigh myself once a week but does not mean i can't be curious why things occur...
  • Have they even done follow up shows to see where these people are at 5 years on...?
  • So true. Even artificial replacements are not the answer because you never break the addiction. Find alternatives rather than something to replicate the sugar rush!
  • I see sugar as an addictive substance (like nicotine). When i first started on MFP i went without refined sugar(chocolate, candy, slices, biscuits) . After a while fruit (the real stuff from plants and trees) became my sugar hit and started to fill the cravings. However, over the last few months I've been eating and…
  • I know weight can change throughout the day. Heavier at end of day etc as more in than out. However, if you weigh yourself at night before you jump into bed (after been to toilet etc) and then weigh less in the morning where does the weight go...? I don't own any scales and just use the ones at the gym so never tried it.
  • OP quote "And it's highly possible that I've been eating more than 1000 calories over my TDEE everyday. I actually tracked what I ate one day and it totalled at 6000+ calories." Anyone going to gain weight like that unless doing a heck of a lot of exercise. Give yourself another week (or two) before worrying about it. Look…
  • You might have an item in there where someone has entered the total calories but not entered all the breakdown in.... or the other way around...
  • first time i had it was at a wedding and throught it was an avacado dip... lucky had a drink in my hand to wash it down!!
  • It's probably the milk, fat and sugar in chocoalte milk that is stalling the weight loss.... not the possibility of a few drops of blood.
  • Have edited my post. Basically saying protein is better for weight loss than carbs or fat ...
  • its a lot better than too much carbs or fat. yes the MFP level is way too low. I set mine at 40% carbs and 30% for the other 2. I work on the theory that if i meet my daily net I could never have too much protein within it. Protein shake vs a muffin, bagel or cookie- go the protein shake.
  • do the classes if they offer them. Never did them till a few months ago and best thing for motivation and intensity. I felt a bit silly to start with but a good gym will provide support. Just hang out at the back and give it a few sessions to pick it up- depending on what you do.
  • It's not how much weight you can lose in 40 days that matters but how much you can lose in 4 months or maintain in 4 years that really counts. I'm sure this post is a wind-up as it goes against everything MFP is based on and you will not see this approach from the long term success stories. Can you please give us an update…
  • Read from the start and you will see more. 5 pounds a week is awesome!!
  • so true!!! OP- If I could live on 1500 of food as a 6'3" male going to the gym regulary (to lose the first 12 pounds) then you should be able to get by on 1400. (Before you shoot me I now up to 1740 but find it easy unless i go out.)
  • If 1400 hundred is to lose 1 pound then 1600 won't see you lose much at all. I would not worry what the scales are telling you for a week or 2. You are probably more than sedintry though chasing kids around all day! A bit hard to comment but if you open your diary then can give constructive feedback.... The other side of…
  • and how much saturated fat.... reason it tastes so good! I always find i eat too much and feel sick afterwards and ask why i ever ate it..
  • only if i'm hungry or going out and drink them. I might also eat a bit more knowing i'm going to the gym. Say a banana before or protein shake afterward. No point going through the McDonald's drive in to eat back for the sake of it.
  • water or black coffee
  • I'D say the calories come from the eggs and butter. only way to cook it.... not oil and def no flour!
  • a bag of almonds. take out 10 and put the bag away before start snacking ....
  • Have thought about this too. Perhaps just use it intermitingly, Say 1 week a month and keep an eye on weight. If put on a few pounds then log for a week or 2. Great effort BTW
  • how often you work out and what your routine? looking great btw
