  • I have been going to pole fitness once a week for a few weeks. The first class had me with a huge case of T-Rex arms. Second class, my legs were so sore it was ridiculous. Supposed to be doing a third tomorrow. I'm planning on once a month until I can afford more than that. I balance it out with 3 gym days…
  • At the gym, I prefer the elliptical to the treadmill. If I wanted to just walk, I would go outside and walk. I usually change which program I do (Hills, Intervals, Cardio Burn) each day, and I try to bump the level up or add minutes. As far as motivation, I have several different playlists. Each one (depending on how long…
  • Essentially my two play lists consist of these: (For weight training): "Cowboys from Hell" Pantera; "Jungle Love" J Dilla "Mama Said Knock You Out' LL Cool J "Party Up In Here" DMX "Wasted" Excision "Stunt Rhythms" Two Fingers "Body Movin'" Beastie Boys (For Cardio): "Beautiful Day" U2 "The Jump Off" Lil Kim "Good…
  • Thanks! It's definitely the entire bicep on both arms, so I'm thinking DOMS. I think that it might feel a bit more concentrated towards the crook of the arm because the tendons between the two (bicep and forearm) are probably wondering what the heck happened, because I haven't actively worked those muscles in any direct…
  • Gym (weights and cardio) Dance studio (belly dance class--teaching) Home (yoga practice, belly dance practice)
  • I have had extremely intense menstrual cycles since age 12. Not to get all TMI, but the flow is so heavy that I have to wear overnight pads through the entire 7 days (yes 7, sometimes 8 or 9). When I first started, I was getting them every 2 weeks. I cramp so severely that I vomit. I get hormone triggered migraines days…
  • Not having to buy wide width shoes anymore. Fitting comfortably into an airplane seat and not needing the extender on the belt. Able to zip a hoodie that I bought at a rock concert that I couldn't fit into when I bought it. Typing at work and my rings keep sliding around my fingers because they're too loose. And my…
  • THIS!! SO MUCH! HAHA I have reacted that very same way.
  • I sit at a desk from 8AM to 4:30PM, not to mention I spend 90 minutes a day in my car commuting. I try to get up at 5AM (some days it's easier than others) and do a 20 minute yoga session. On mornings (two or three times a month) when I have to go in an hour earlier, I do the yoga session the night before. I park 2 blocks…
  • I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I can sympathize. I was with my father when he had a heart attack last year. My mother and I were both in the kitchen when it happened, and I (trained as a Sheriffs deputy) had to not only perform CPR on him, but also remain in the room while first responders and medics worked on him. We…
  • Haha My dad used to tell me it was my German coming out when I'd get red faced when exerted. I get super red and I sweat like crazy. I always notice the really attractive guys come into the gym after I've finished my workout and I look like a sweaty mess instead of when i first get there and look presentable.
  • This seems to be my problem as well. I'm down from a 44F, now a 42DDD. I cram myself into 40DDD but it's stupidly uncomfortable. I have actually just started working out in Cacique balconette bras. I use them for belly dance costumes (which needs a lot of support as well), and as much as I hate using good bras for the gym,…
  • I have a big blotter sized calender with workouts and dance practice written in bright colors. It is hanging where my purse and gym bag hang so I can see it every day when I leave for work or go out of the house. I have a cork board by my bed and every workout gets pinned on it so I can take stock at the end of the week.
  • We have St. Augustine grass, which is uber-thick, and it's been super tall with all the rain we've had. It takes about 2 hours to cut the entire yard (front and back) without stopping. You better believe I count every minute I spend pushing a lawn mower. Also when we weed flower beds, prepare flower beds (ever operate a…
  • Riceworks brown rice crisps. A great alternative to crackers (as with Tuna or chicken salad) or chips (with salsa), but man a bag doesn't last two days with me. When I take some to work, I literally have to count out a serving.
  • Multivitamin Calcium Vitamin D Cranberry supplement for urinary tract health That's it.
  • I do love cottage cheese. Preferably with pineapple.
  • Clothes are pretty much a given as I lose weight. Can't have my pants falling off now can I? :) I do want to buy a pair of skinny jeans, though. And at least one bra from Victoria's Secret (because I can't do it now). At my goal weight, I'm going to get a rib cage tattoo (design to be determined). I currently make all my…
  • I pretty much retain water like a sponge the week prior and week of. I've been off so it's hard to gauge when it's going to hit. One month I'm a week early. The next I'm a week late. And I will eat anything you put in front of me, especially salty then sweet.
  • I'm an old punk/metal/rock chick so I listen to Pantera, White Zombie/Rob Zombie, Nine Inch Nails, The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, Iron Maiden, Motley Crue, etc., usually when I do weights or core training. Some days I throw in The Go-Go's, Duran Duran, The Cure, U2, The Beastie Boys, and Missy Elliot, primarily for cardio.…
  • Depends on the day/workout: Mon-Wed: Cardio/weights: My gym is 45 min from home so I drink 8 oz of low fat chocolate milk right after (carb and protein replenish) followed by 16 oz of water. I drink those on the drive home. Then it's usually a shower, and a good dinner (I workout in the afternoon after work). Then a short…
  • Daily walk from my car to the office (AM) and from the office to the car (PM) 10 minute round trip 35 minutes on the elliptical (level 4 rolling hills) 20 minutes stretching
  • 6 in turkey on wheat with swiss cheese, spinach, cucumbers, pickles, spicy mustard and salt and pepper. Sometimes I ask for very light amount of low fat mayo with mustard, but very rarely.
  • I like Oikos more than Chiboni, though the mango Chiboni is really good. I generally don't like the fruit on the bottom of any kind of yogurt, but that's just me. I prefer to just get plain or vanilla and add my own. I do like vanilla greek yogurt with granola or even with the Vanilla Almond Special K.
  • I'm 5'3" and my goal weight is 135 lbs. I graduated high school 20 years ago at 130. I think I'd be happy at 140, though.
  • WOW! Great job! I get tired just watching the infomercial! Keep it going!
  • You made total sense! I was afraid of the weights at first. The serious guys are pretty intimidating. I started out on machines about two months into my membership. I haven't made my way into the free weights yet. But I will. I've always been more self conscious doing ab work though. I think I'm more comfortable now that…
  • Actually the women's gym I was a member of did have a good range of machines and weights. There were some serious lifters there. I did find a lot of the women who attended were very judgmental of each other. I'd hear them chatting about the other women in the gym. If one was too muscular, she was obviously on steroids. If…
  • I work in an office in the courthouse. I do park my car two blocks away so I get a good 5 min walk in the morning and another in the afternoon. I try to get up and stretch often, and I go down two floors to grab papers from the clerk of court. Other than that, I don't have much activity. My other "job" is teaching belly…
  • Oh girrrrl I sweat like the proverbial lady of the evening in a house of worship. Red faced, drenched, clothes soaked...yep. That's me.
