some sort of resistance training will help you lose inches much faster than pounds and you'll be stronger for it as well. Check out and make friends with the people of this group. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/10118-eat-train-progress Very helpful

I love the bulk grain bins, the grind-your-own nut butters, the darker varieties of chocolate, and the cheese selection. Not sure this is what you meant but...

If I were going to do classes (not really my thing), I think I'd rather do them alone (join without a friend/relative). If I don't know anyone there, then there can be no preconceived idea of who I am or what I'm like. I don't have to care what a bunch of strangers think of me. Who knows, maybe you'll actually make friends.

I went back and watched the video with the volume off and the "closed captioning" on. It was pretty darned funny.

Walking and/or running is good. You could try Couch to 5K. Also, there's a site called You Are Your Own Gym that offers many exercises that don't require equipment and can be done anywhere. YouTube offers many exercise videos you can do at home, as well. Good luck to you in whatever you choose.

with a loss of only 20 pounds: -I get cold more easily -I can now reach the middle of my back -I can easily maneuver between the toilet and the stall door in public restrooms. -I can breathe and tie my shoes at the same time -I can climb stairs without getting winded -I'm a lot stronger than I thought and stronger than I…

I have no idea, but I can confess to be pretty irritated when I discovered the little piece of fudge I had planned to eat after dinner last night was moldy.

Beautiful...before and after. Fantastic progress!!!

If it's activity above and beyond your normal daily activity, it will make a difference. You may have to increase it (faster or longer) eventually or add other activities later, but for now...good for you for taking that first step.

For starters, read this: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/Robin_Bin

You may want to check out some of the groups like: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/10118-eat-train-progres There are other groups. Just do a search.

It's pretty random. Sometimes once, sometimes twice, sometimes not at all for weeks at a time.

Several things: - Unhappy with my appearance (reflection/photos) - general discomfort - difficulty performing normal everyday activities - difficulty keeping up with friends/family - fear of diabetes/heart disease - ill-fitting clothing I'm sure there are more.

OH Yucky! but I hope you had a great time in New Orleans, it's such a cool place.

You should try a full body, progressive, strength training program. Plenty out there. Here is some useful info: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/833026/important-posts-to-read/p1

Baton Rouge, Louisiana Current: 42 High: 52 Low: 20 That low of 20 is rather rare; I would NOT trade places with some of you for anything. BRRRR!

The above is excellent advice. Also, try not to change everything at once. It can be overwhelming and you won't stick to it. Rather than "dieting", which is temporary and produces temporary results, try slowly changing your habits one by one: increase your water intake, cut out sugary drinks. Then reduce desserts to only…

Welcome to MFP. Here is some great info for beginners: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/Robin_Bin http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/833026/important-posts-to-read

A person can fluctuate 4-5pounds in a day depending on intake and activity, but it's only temporary. Not worth panicking over. Just get back to your regular healthy eating program and it will balance out soon enough. Like SLHysell said, "Binge-fast, binge-fast, binge-fast isn't a good plan. It will always fail".

Losing inches is sooo much better than losing pounds. Trust me, this is a good thing. It's definite progress so don't kick yourself. Just keep doing what you're doing and the pounds will follow too. The scale is not the only measure of success.

Anything you can't explain that hurts is worth a doctor visit Anything that has you on your knees in pain is worth a doctor visit. (for peace of mind if nothing else)

My mom used to do this, but she also added sauteed onions and peppers, covered it with bread crumbs, popped it in the oven and called it a casserole.

I didn't read the entire thread (I'm on a study break and don't have time), so someone may have mentioned this already. Check out www.brettcontreras.com . He's the "butt guy" and can help you do it right.

It's all about perspective. You've got the right one.

I had a friend who truly believed she was "allergic" to any red meat. Granted, she did have a lot of health problems and many surgeries. I'm would not be surprised if she had some intolerance, but intolerance is not an allergy. She also firmly believed in the "eating for your blood type" diet. I know a couple of women who…
