  • Hi, I'm Heather. I'm 43 and would like to lose 80 lbs but I just seems impossible. I've been on MFP for 2065+ days and it has been a roller coaster ride for me. I've lost, gained it back, lost a little, gained it back and now I'm doing it again. Anyone can add me.
  • Me too. I lost 80 lbs with MFP then life got in the way and I gained 60 back. I'm here to start again and finish it for good this time. I want to lose 120 lbs total. Anyone can add me .
  • Me too. Lost 80 lbs and gained back 60. Want to lose 120 lbs. Lets do it for real this time!! Anyone can add me.
  • I saw that online and was thinking about ordering it. Thank you!!
  • I wanted to update since I have made some changes and rode a few more times. I raised the handle bars up as high as they can go and tilted them upward some too and that made a big difference. Tilting the handlebars also helped make it easier to get my fingers on the brakes. My fingers are short and I was considering…
  • Thanks for all the advice. It all makes complete sense. I wish I could afford a nice expensive bike but for just starting out my $200 Amazon bike will have to do. I raised the bar and tilted it up a little bit more so I will try it out again Saturday and see if that's better. This one is a cheap bike so I can't move the…
  • I do both. I have been a runner for a few years and have always enjoyed that but have recently gotten into cycling. After dealing with a few injuries running and what seems like chronic shin splints I am back on the bike. I like cycling because I can go farther, faster and it's more fun. For me it's more fun to go out for…
  • I just tried a new one this morning. 8 oz chilled coffee, ice cubes, vanilla protein powder and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Next time I will add a little bit of almond milk or skim milk. Iced Protein Coffee!!! YUMMY!!!
  • Same here! I hate working out with other people. If I walk or run or even bike I want my music loud in my ears to drown out everything else. It's my time to think or not think and be alone. I don't want to have to worry about another person. It's my time.
  • Another thought you could try is skipping breakfast to save those calories for later. Some people can do it, others can not. It's called intermittent fasting if you want to look into it.
  • Thank you everyone. I find it funny that it worked fine until I started using my Charge HR. I will contact support and see what they say. Thanks again.
  • No one has any advice???
  • Congratulation! You have made an amazing transformation. Thank you for sharing your inspiration. I am very interested in how you overcame your unhealthy relationship with food. How did you do it?? If you don't mind sharing, you could pm me if you don't want to do it here. Great job!!!
  • @vrojapu Thank you. You are right, "failure" is too strong of a word. I am making progress.
  • Some people might think I'm crazy but just do squats. It always works for me. I will do about 3 sets of 15-20 along with some cardio and it works. Not every day, but close to it. I'm not very regular but if I do squats it gets my system going.
  • Hi! My name is Heather and I'm going to start OMAD on Monday, January 4. I have been on MFP for 1228 days. I lost 75 lbs in the first year by calorie counting, dabbled with IF and Intermittent fasting then have been maintaining, slowly gaining about 20 lbs since. I exercise daily, that is my passion. It sounds crazy but I…
  • I did the exact same thing. Some trial and error too. I tried a pair of Saucony's once that were terrible right off the bat, so I gave them to my daughter, but I had a different pair of Saucony's that I bought from Famous Footwear years ago that were wonderful. Then I tried a pair of Brooks Ghost and those are great so I…
  • Me too! I surprise myself often with the things my body is physically capable of at the weight that I am, but I don't have the strength to resist a pizza or chocolate. Portion control is also not one of my strong suits.
  • Thank you! I have used KT Tape for shin splints and did ok with it but was thinking of trying Rock Tape instead. I appreciate your opinion.
  • Yes, congrats on nipping it in the bud before it got too out of hand. I also get a little obsessive with my Fitbit numbers. I start to feel bad if I don't make my goal and am considering just taking it off. I work out daily, but will get frustrated if I do a 45 minute strength training video and it doesn't give me the same…
  • I eat one of these almost every week day. I try to stick to Healthy Choice because they are a little lower in sodium but I eat Lean Cuisine and Smart Ones too. I try to pair it with maybe a Greek yogurt and some raw fruit or veggies. I like the portion control and the convenience of them.
  • I thought the show was entertaining in it's earlier seasons where there was actual competition, it focused on the physical demands, the things they learned, the contestant's personal growth and the shock factor of the weight loss. In the last 5 seasons or so I have completely lost interest because it has become more about…
  • (Sheepishly raises hand) Guitly, here. I ride with headphones. But... they are not so loud I can't hear something behind me, I put a rear-view mirror on my bike, I never ride on trails, I ride 90% on rural gravel roads and I will take one bud out if I'm on a highway or in town.
  • This is interesting info. Thanks for sharing that.
  • When I say zombie I mean I felt like I could fall asleep at any moment. Sleepy tired, not fatiqued. I wear Fitbit and I slept like I normally do and I'm rarely tired during the day. As far as my calories I have been eating around maintenance for quite some time now. I had chocolate milk after my ride and then went to bed.…
  • Did you also try Ebay, Amazon and Craigslist?? Good luck.
  • Well I'm glad to know I'm not alone in this. I told my husband about it and he looked at me like I was nuts. The one positive thing about it is that I can spend all day at a softball tournament and not have to worry about peeing in a dirty, disgusting bathroom. Thanks for all your responses.
  • I would rather stand. I love the treadmill idea and understand it's a slow pace, but I think I would spend more time trying not to fall off or drop something so I will just stand.
  • Me too. Animals is an incredibly sexy song that turns me on Adam Levine can totally do it for me. And even though I don't listen to country music, a nice slow song sung by Blake Shelton like Over or God Gave Me You. (Sigh) He has a really sexy voice too. I also like scruffy facial hair and broad, strong chest and shoulders.
