  • I'm nowhere near there yet but I had lost a lot of weight before an accident, disrupting any sort of exercise for a long time. I never got the be the "small" stage yet, but I was thrilled to look at my t-shirts and see a MED for the first time in 15 years or so. This time, I am going for that small !!
  • Trying to get my *kitten* moving again.. here we go! May 1- 1.68 miles (OTF workout) May 2-
  • I just turned 43 and I have learned that what I did even 6 years ago is harder for me now. Minor injuries put me down for weeks rather than days now. I missed most of last month in the gym due to a muscle strain/pull. It was a pretty bad one but still.. a freaking pulled muscle? Anyway.. I am new here (again) and…
  • New to OTF, returning here to MFP... I am back at the weight loss again after a 2 year health issue-hiatus but the point is I AM HERE! I just finished my 7th and 8th class. A friend and I did a class, rested between and then went for the first half of the next class. What a rush! I am a data freak, as I saw someone…
  • It's like so many other things in life. Everyone has their own opinion and what they think you should do, how and when, etc. I had a lot of people telling me not to throw out or give away my "fat clothes" because as they said, "you know you'll gain most of it back and then what will you do for clothes? Have to buy them all…
  • Orange Theory is a circuit training, coach -led gym. There's a lot of naysayers and a lot of OTF lovers out there. I am just starting there myself. My first workout was last Wed and it was so.. hard, but worth it. I haven't been in a gym or done any workouts for almost two years so I was quite sore afterwards. I am happy I…
  • What drives me nuts (and this irks a lot of my friends/family) is people who use "leet". Things like "brb" I can deal with but getting a message that looks like... Just send me over the deep end. That and my dad who still thinks he needs to use a subject line in text messages. Jeez, dad!! ;) Between his subject lines and…

  • The annual Resolution Run was yesterday. I did the longer version of it (4 miles), but walk/jogged it. I am returning to running after a year long hiatus :(. Back at it now though.
  • Iamhere4- Just to let you know, a lot of the phone apps for step counting are quite innaccurate :(. Some of them require your phone screen to be awake the entire time and some of them just don't account for each person's difference in strides. It's a good idea to use time as your guide until/unless you can get a fitbit or…
  • Count me in. I have been semi-AWOL in 2015 but I need to get back at it.
  • Please please tell me there's a way to beat the depression. Mine's gotten so bad lately, I can't sleep. No sleep means no waking up early to workout. No working out means I get more frustrated and then eat badly. Then the circle comes 'round again :(
  • Right there with you. I started with MFP about 2 years ago now. I lost 55 lbs almost right off the bat, but haven't been able to really keep the motivation in the last year due to a lot of seriously high stresses in my life. I am back up almost 15 lbs from my lowest weight and I am trying not to let it drag me down.…
  • I'm going to give this a try... Name: Rhonda (I hate it though, go by Nareena) Starting Weight/Date: 240 - Aug 16, 2012 Current Weight/Date: 185 - May 6, 2014 Goal Weight/Date: 160/165 - September 15, 2014 I need to lose more than 20 lbs, but if I can lose even 10 or 15, I know it will give Me a kick to get going and stay…
  • Simply put.... be consistent. This is what I as well as many others have suggested to me, have done: Put the scale in the same place (or leave it there). Mark the floor with small bits of tape if you need to. Weigh in after you wake.. naked, after the toilet, before a workout, shower or food/drinks. Personally I weigh…
  • Well done Bernadette. Keep at it. Sometimes it's a little rough, but you're worth it. Way to go!
  • <--- omg this is SO me. I"ve lost TWO FitBits in the last year (an Ultra and then a One) and yes... I lose chapsticks and pens on a daily basis lol.
  • *walks into the room with a wave and a slightly nervous smile* Hi.. My name is Nareena The Gypsy.. Just Nar for short is fine. I am 38 and have lost a little over 50 lbs in the last 1.5 years. I still have 50 more to go so I am not fully able to do all the hoppy jumpy moves, but I am trying! I started jogging and running…
  • Me personally.. that short a time into the program, I'd rather start over. I'm sure you could just pick up where you left off and go on. But only week 2, I'd rather start it over and get the full round of it, if possible.
  • I was supposed to start on 1Feb.. had some issues w the DVD player though and I had to wait a day :(. So I started on 2Feb with the Fit Test. 1Feb: Fit Test (results, I'm not very fit lol!) 2Feb: Plyo Cardio- muscle aches and light soreness only 20 min after my morning workout. That NEVER happens usually lol.
  • I no longer have my FitBit but I have another pedometer that I use regularly. I would be interested in similar challenges. But jeez.. 100k in a week is more than 6 miles a day with my steps. Not sure I can get that high!
  • I've done 30DS a few times now.. I originally bought it Sept 2012 and did it then, again in Dec 2012 and again in Feb 2013. I can't say I really gave it my all the last time I tried but the first two times, I saw some real changes! I did lose some weight while doing 30DS but that was when all I had to do was think thin and…
  • I use RunTastic. There is the occasional issue, but it's overall pretty good and it integrates with MFP :)
