  • Hi everyone! I'm Carrie, married mother of 2. I started taking my weight loss seriously in May 2017. I have lost 120lbs so far. I would like to lose about 25 more. The weight loss has really slowed down and I know it's because I'm just not keeping myself accountable. It is time to get my head back in the game and my weight…

  • Your body is healing you may need to go back and forth between phases a few times, I did. Even at 4-5 months I would have a day here and there that my pouch just needed a break so I went back to soft foods for a day.
  • Happy Anniversary!! You look amazing
  • Happy Anniversary!! You look amazing
  • I went to a concert last night and my @$$ fit in the seat! Can I get a fist bump??
  • A pillow to hold against you on the ride home can be a game changer, good luck!
  • I have a very active 12 yr old son. He plays hockey, football, and soccer. I am not friends with the other Football or Hockey parents, they can be a very judgmental group. I had my surgery at the end of soccer season and I haven't really seen the football or Hockey parents since. Today was my son's first football game of…
  • I am 5'4" 225 lbs, 3 months post op I eat 650-800 on average.
  • Sorry to hear your feeling so stressed. *high five* for seeing the unhealthy coping and replacing it with a healthier choice!
  • Every program has a different time line. You should ask at your next appointment. The liquid diet isn't fun but it is necessary, it helps shrink your liver which makes the surgery safer. Whenever I felt like cheating I thought about that. Good luck with your approval!
  • Found this online "About 1 in 7 people with gallstones willdevelop stones in the common bile duct. This is the small tube that carries bile from the gallbladder to the intestine. Risk factors include a history of gallstones. However, choledocholithiasis can occur in people who have had their gallbladder removed." I had…
  • You're doing great! I hope you are feeling well too. Welcome to the group! I had RNY a few days after you on May 23.
  • I have a husband and 2 kids that enjoy their junk food. I don't deny them but it's limited. I don't keep things in the house that are triggers for me. I meal plan, so if I were to plan a dinner of sandwiches and chips I would buy them each an individual bag so there won't be any left overs for later snacking. I also…
  • I had a huge non-scale victory this week. More than just one, it was a whole day! My husband's boss invited all the employees and their families out to the lake. Normally I would find a million reasons not to go but I didn't. I put on my new swimsuit which I do not feel like an Umpa Lumpa in for the first time in 11 yrs.…
  • I was nervous too because I do have anxiety and it can get very bad. I was honest with her although I thought it would delay my surgery. I figured I didnt want to have the surgery and sabotage it myself by not telling the truth. I'm glad I did because she was amazing and helped me so much. My surgery was never delayed and…
  • I was told in my program that with surgery the average person loses 30% of their highest weight which would put me at 210lbs. My surgeon said for my size I would likely lose 100lbs from my surgery weight which would be 172lbs goal. My personal goal is 160lbs.
  • 8 weeks post op, feeling great! Down 32lbs since surgery. I am active on here and will continue to be because there is a lot of good information here. It's a great place for support. I haven't struggled until yesterday and today. My birthday and my daughter's birthday are back to back. That's two days of "celebrating".…
  • Nuts and cheese....exciting right? Lol
  • I started vitamins 2 weeks after surgery
  • Gastric Bypass/ VSG/ Lap band is a group on here. Lots of great people with excellent advice. You can add me if you like I had RNY gastric bypass on May 23.
  • I'm the opposite. I used to always be warm or hot, even in winter. Every since my surgery day I am cold. The first two weeks I couldn't get warm. Now I'm like a cat, any patch of sunlight and I'm in it haha. I'm not looking forward to winter this year.
  • Hi Sandy, congrats on your success! Great job maintaining.
  • Good luck with your surgery and your new journey, this week will fly by!
  • I get it. All of it. I will give you the same advice I had. Do the program, get the information, learn everything you can and then decide. You don't have to have the surgery. The surgery is far from a copout. It is a lot of work and an entirely different lifestyle. It is not for everyone. I am 5 1/2 weeks post op and there…
