Well done! Your progress is really impressive, especially given your ankle injury!

I love Fitness Blender! I have been doing their shorter videos off and on for a few years. Admittedly kind of intimidated by the longer ones.

You must be super strong to be getting through all this stress and exhaustion day-to-day. Is there a way to involve your kids in exercise? If you have even 45 min to devote to yourself, that is great. You can get really significant burns in that timeframe with no equipment, like HIIT or tabata. I have done this 25 min…

Yes, from years of physical, verbal, and emotional abuse at a young age. Despite longterm treatment for depression, I only just now started CPT therapy to target it. It's worked well for me so far. Added you.

Hi everyone. I was successful with MFP back in 2013, but going to law school got my fitness off course. Now that I'm at home studying for the bar exam, I have recommitted to MFP with a goal to lose about 15 lbs. I log everything and keep an open diary. In terms of fitness stuff, I love riding bikes, walking and hiking,…

Not in your area, but also a (former) volleyball player. I actually got to play a little last night. I'm obviously out of shape, but it went better than expected. Feel free to add!

Added! I'm about the same height and love Zumba as well.

Hi everybody! I have gained weight in part due to depression/PTSD and anxiety that has made me uneasy about leaving my house. New meds have helped, as has biking instead of walking/running (men can't harass you as easily that way!). Looking forward to being part of this supportive community. I am back on MFP after a long…

I have the same problem. What I have found helpful is to avoid pouring that glass of wine (my other impulse when I get home) since it would also lower eating inhibitions. I also find that I can eat cheese and crackers nonstop but will not overeat with something like an apple or an orange.

I realize this is an old thread, but body-positive people can be hard to come by on MFP so I'll identify myself. I've never been "overweight" per se but I've been struggling with negative feelings toward my body since I was a child. Body positivity is the only salve to that deeply ingrained nonsense. I'm still working on…

Serious question. What exactly do you mean by inflammation in this context?

Hiya! I don't belong to a gym and get all of my exercise outside, and preferably in the woods. I hike frequently and canoe/kayak whenever possible, and lead forest ecology walks for kids to learn about nature. Sending you a request!

Nevermind.

Congratulations so much on reclaiming your life from pain! You look great!

Sure, the operations of glucagon and leptin most definitely the source of the confusion. I know "loose" is a verb, but never in the context of loosing weight. Loose the reins, sure. Wouldn't the average person use "loosen" in your scenario. anyway?
-
What specifically are you taking? I've read that large doses of vitamin B can exacerbate acne.

Outdoorsy fun girls are the best girls. Request sent!

FIGHTING EVIL BY MOONLIGHT! Sailor Moon was my intro. My favorite series are Gankutsuou, Karakurizōshi Ayatsuri Sakon, and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Vampire Knight and Yakitate!! Japan are my guilty pleasures.

I can relate to the original post. It really is distressing when you see your partner gain weight with abandon, all the more so when you are trying hard to be conscientious about what you eat. In a way, it's not so much about the weight itself but the differing attitudes about how to treat your own body. When those values…

Yeah, I kind of think this aspect of MFP is broken. I was curious and looked at a report on my sugar consumption over the past 90 days. The ONE day I did not exceed in sugar but did meet carbs was ridiculous: cheese and coffee for breakfast, fries and beer for lunch, and beer and pretzels for dinner. Lolzzz. Clearly a day…

Meeee. I love canoeing, kayaking, and hiking. But mainly I'm a big nature nerd. I'm a birder so I spend a lot of time in the woods, and I've spent the summer skulking around the edges of meadows trying to ID all of my state's wildflowers.

Most food can be left unrefrigerated for most of the day and be fine. I mean, we aren't talking about sushi here, right? Like everyone is saying, get an insulated lunch bag and it's even more of a non-issue. The best thing I've found for lunches are the divided containers. Ziploc makes them, as well as some smaller mom and…

Hey Marie! I used to live en Ardèche, not so far from you. I really miss the area and my chestnut-obsessed neighbors.

I appreciate your thoughtful and respectful post, and I wanted to reply to this part. I don't think fat acceptance is about loving yourself IN SPITE of being fat. It's that being fat or not being fat shouldn't be a factor in loving yourself. In my view, it's that body size should not determine one's own worth.

Uh, just because you capitalize the AND doesn't mean there isn't a big OR in your sentence. It's the OR that makes it a choice. And I chose one from from the left side of the OR and one thing from the right. Try again, dear.

Haha, okay. Way to belittle working moms. You're the reason why we need feminism, creating a false choice between "a loving family" and "earn a lot of money/working your *kitten* off." Gotta love the moralizing that has at its heart the super-gross implication that women are supposed to be responsible entirely responsible…

You made the thing about quotas up. This does not exist in the US. I'm assuming you are talking about the US with your little Mr. President shtick.

I'm glad feminism has given you the entitlement to take it so utterly for granted! Love, A Man-Hating Harpy

I am so excited that this thread exists. On a site like this with so much internalized shame, it is extraordinarily brave to talk about radical acceptance. I'm a feminist and fat positive, but I fight every day with self-loathing, self-criticism, and judgment. This is why feminism and fat positivity are so relevant to…

Dry white wines are really not very high-calorie, all things considered. You could drink vodka sodas for fewer calories, but the best advice is to drink what you want within your calorie allotment.
