you would burn 2800+ a day if you were working out like a full time athlete 6-7 days a week with cardio sessions in-between! But if you're being generally active 6-7 days a week, you should use a multiplier somewhere in the middle. You can always adjust it later!

I love it. Tasty! The average population shouldn't have to worry about it, but ask your doctor to make sure.

Both. But set mini-goals, don't try to do everything at once. Maybe try tracking your food first. Then, start staying in a calorie deficit. Then, increase your protein. The goal is to be obtainable and sustainable, not perfect from day one!

If you aren't sure, pick one in the middle, and adjust in a couple weeks!

BMR is not-moving, total resting metabolism. So if you ate that many calories (and you're sure the calculation is correct) and didn't move AT ALL all day, that's what you would burn. No gains, no loss. If you did any sort of activity it will burn some calories (get up and walk around the house a bit, grocery shopping,…

Mushroom pate! I'd make something like this without the butter and with more fresh herbs: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/exotic-mushroom-and-walnut-pate/

I weight the entire block then divide by portion sizes. If it's just 2 portions I just cut the brick it in half. If it's 4, I weigh each section to make sure they're equal. I don't try to measure whatever the serving size is!

There can be a lot of negativity out there when an overweight person wants to get started exercising. It is a beginner program, and hopefully is used to get people comfortable with exercise enough so that they start making other lifestyle changes. There is a very obvious group that she is targeting and trying to get…

Health comes first. Stop trying to lose weight until this medical situation is figured out.

I would definitely eat those calories, even if it is 8pm!

I love lifting, but never knew until I tried it for a few months and noticed significant changes in my body! I don't really enjoy endless hours of cardio (or any cardio haha) so I do HIIT training for shorter periods of time. I hate running, but I signed up for a 10k. I enjoyed the challenge. I just change it up all the…

Vegan...and a badass. ;)

I'm not a raw foodist, but I am interested in the diet because I love fruits and veggies and I think the recipes are very creative and healthy. I also think the best desserts in the world are raw...and I've had a lot of desserts. ;) I'm basically here because the food is good.

I got one that's a slow-cooker and a pressure cooker in one. I love it, but I use a lot of dried beans/lentils.

Anything by Queen, but I'm not embarrassed about that!! I do listen to electronic music sometimes...that's pretty embarrassing as a self-proclaimed metalhead ;)

I'm a chef and a vegan, and here are my thoughts: Maple syrup would be GREAT with pumpkin. I would stick with a liquid similar to maple syrup though...agave perhaps? But you could experiment with some dry sweeteners...I would add a couple tablespoons of water if you do though. The syrup is not holding the cookies together…

I go to Goodwill and buy something "new" that fits well! I feel like that emphasizes all my hard work :)

I'm an animal rights vegan, myself. :)

RELIGIOUS VEGETARIANS. My grandparents were 7th day Adventists, which lead them to a plant-based diet. Also Hindus, Buddhists, etc...

It's important to maintain weight during treatment, period. The weight loss is muscle mass mostly, or comes from psychological issues. It's better to deal with cancer first...then rebuild!!! :)
