Somebody in your network people has it already. Post on your facebook or something asking if anyone knows anyone who has DVDs they want to get rid of. In the past, people would use d*monoid... but Ukrainian authorities took that down months ago.

Are you becoming addicted to exercise?
-
That is one element. I prefer paulineb251's approach showing RESULTS baby :)

IMO, when it comes to deciding how to choose which exercises to do, it's more about goals + recovery. Example: A light jog for 30 minutes is easy to recover from. You can literally do that everyday for the rest of your life. What's NOT easy to recover from? Example: 30 minutes of deadlifts (even though your cardiovascular…

Actually I appreciate that despite criticism you maintain a respectful tone. People should exercise some self-control as to what topics they post in. This topic is about people doing BodyPump and if someone has no interest in BodyPump, they may be better off starting a topic about what they are interested in. Thus, a…

Good job. Keep at it and look for results. If you hit a plateau, maybe try some strength stuff for a few weeks, and it might also have carryover to the classes.
-
Look at you!! Way to go. I honestly couldn't even do all the reps that the instructors were doing, but I think if I kept at it I would be able to get closer. Out of curiosity, what type of nutrition do you do before / after your body pump class?

Planks are good. Then you can progress to abdominal rollouts, leg raises, high to low cable woodchop, pallof press, turkish get up, dragon flag etc...
-
Yea it definitely pushes me more than I would on my own.

Definitely warm up for the heavy weights. Anyone lifting heavy should know that. As for people saying, "don't do BodyPump" you clearly don't belong in this thread. There's many reasons why classes are popular at the gym, and something like BodyPump tends to fill up pretty fast.

About equal. I spend more time on the variations of either,
-
This is for people who are taking BodyPump at their gym.

There are a lot of theories about muscle growth, but what I'm getting at here are the following. 1. Strength (Central Nervous System activation) -Taps into the most powerful muscle fibers, with potential for muscle growth 2. Time under tension (BodyPump / endurance) -Weights under 40% of your 1RepMax are highly unlikely to…

Think of the primer and BodyPump as synergistic. The primer exercises should allow for greater benefit from the endurance exercises. Basically allows you to activate overall more muscle... therefore resulting in a better metabolic boost and potential muscle building benefits. After that, it's about getting plenty of…

BodyPump is an endurance weightlifting based workout. You are using a weight between 10-45 lbs, which will be challenging given the 120+ seconds of no-rest exercise for a muscle group. So like someone said, you're getting closer to that cardio exercise range as opposed to the muscle toning area. By priming the muscles…

It all comes down to how your body responds to it. Personally, I notice myself gaining body fat quicker eating bread than eating something like beans (which have been interchangeable for meals that involve meat or eggs). Also timing plays a role. You're better off having bread in the morning, before exercise, or after…

Know that a lot of Trainers have trainers themselves. There's just something powerful about having a person push you beyond what you would normally do for yourself.

First thing is to keep strong on your nutrition. I notice for me having 5 lbs more of mass could mean one less rep. So weight is important. Progression is the way to do it. Exercise bands that loop around the pull up bar are one of the best progression's available because it teaches you how to pull properly. A lat pulldown…

OP, so what did you decide to do with those, out of curiosity?
-
Therefore worth something.

"I started knocking the 225s out for sets of 25 reps and my upper back strength and size increased significantly. I also noticed my old problem with locking out my deadlifts had completely disappeared – I was able to easily finish any pull that I could get to my knees." "I explained to Jim how they vastly improved my grip…

+1, thanks for offering good suggestions. You can be your own gym and use what you have.

Haha, just imagine how Arnold got into the head of his competitors too.

Bring it on guys, progression is everything.

So 20RM is not light weight for some exercises. A few things to consider... The exercise can be -Explosive or static, or full ROM with tempo. -Incorporating full body, or isolated body parts -Work capacity / endurance focused 20 reps is high reps. The flaw of OP's question is that he says "low weight." Low weight is…
-
And so how does this factor into 20 rep sets in your opinion?

This was near San Diego, went for a nice hike w/ new friends and also because I knew we were going out later :)

Ice afterwards to slow the inflammatory process. This gives your body time to do a better job at sending the right signals and healing cells to the area. Then I make sure to eat plenty of anti-inflammatory food and herbs. Fish, omega-3s, turmeric, ginger, etc. That always helps me, even on a regular basis for muscle…
