I had our local library order this video, and I really like it so far. I've only done the walking with no toning miles [miles 1, 3, and 5]. I like that the warm up and cool down aren't part of a mile. You can't program what you want, but I just start it and jump to what I want with the remote, so no biggie. I like that I…

Thanks, TeaBea, for the suggestions. I'll look those up.

We just usually saute them with onions. Sometimes we add a little ginger and soy sauce. Yellow squash is one of my favorites.

Hello all! I'm fairly new to Leslie Sansone, but I'm enjoying adding her workouts into my week, especially when it gets so hot here in Florida. The first one I tried was the 3 Mile Weight Loss Walk mentioned above on YouTube. I really liked it and felt like I got a lot out of it. I've tried a few others from the library…

pistachios!

I have a few, but these two help a lot: 1. It's easier to say no to the first bite, than to the second (or third or fourth or....). 2. Think of the big picture that I want to lose weight and be healthy and lean.

Fantastic! You rock!
-
Congratulations! That's quite an accomplishment!
-
Congratulation! You are doing a great job!
-
You look amazing! Kudos to you for working so hard!
-
What a great success story! You have worked hard! And you look great!
-
Congratulations! That's excellent news. Keep up the good work!

Congratulations on your success! You look fabulous!

I just started my 10th week today, and I'm loving the results!
-
You look great! Congrats on finishing the first 10 weeks!

I would start with the basic program. I think you will still get a lot out of it. You are to truly rest after each one - don't pause at the top. Good luck!
-
Yay! Good for you! Your hard work is paying off!

I haven't seen that book, but I will wholeheartedly recommend Body By You by Mark Lauren. All body weight exercises. No gym, no weights, no videos. And the book is geared toward women.
-
I've been using body by you for seven weeks now, and I'm quite please with the results, especially since I don't have to go to a gym, use a video or weights.
-
I think it is enough for strength training, but even if I didn't, I wouldn't have time or money to go to a gym. I walk at least a mile or two almost every day. That's all the cardio I do. I'd like to add in yoga.

Good to hear it's working for you! I made the mistake and didn't notice that instead of two sets of 12 like the first two weeks, all the following weeks in Cycle one are three sets of 10. Oops. I just finished my 7th week this morning. This was the first week that I've done 3 sets of 10, and boy was it a lot harder. But I…

There is also a group on here called "You Are Your Own Gym" that has some discussion of the book.

If you have a smart phone, he has an app that is only a few bucks, but it has videos for every exercise and every variation of each exercise. It's nice to see someone demonstrate it in addition to just a description and picture in a book. Let me know if you having any questions or need someone to cheer you on : )

I bought the book when it first came out and have been using the program ever since. YAYOG was too hard for me. This is a perfect fit. Challenging but not unattainable. I've been doing Cycle one for 6 weeks, although I was sick last week and missed two workouts. I have recommended this book to lots of people, and I will…

Plus I have found that a 20 minute workout at home leaves almost no room for excuses not to workout.

I read the YAYOG and even started it, but boy, was it hard! I got the Body By You book when it came out. I just finished Cycle 1 Week 4 Day 1 yesterday. I'm seeing results! Not only do I feel stronger, but my balance and posture have improved also. The progression is a lot slower, but I'm ok with that. I know a lot of…

The author of the book You Are Your Own Gym, also the creator of the app, released a book geared toward women called Body By You. Check your library to see if they have it, or Amazon sells it for just over $10. It's bodyweight exercises, and really gets you working!

That's how I understood it. I worked out Monday and Tuesday, took Wednesday off, and will workout Thursday and Friday.
-
Thanks for the encouragement. I did the second day workout yesterday, and my body is screaming at me today. I'm glad I am taking today off from working out : ) I will press on tomorrow! I keep telling myself "it has to get better" : )

Thanks for the advice. I guess I'm just concerned that I'm pretty much useless after a workout for about an hour. Hopefully that will get better. Plus I wasn't able to do a single let me up yesterday.
