  • Hey! Sorry to hear you're feeling down, I had a similar experience a couple of months ago...during the winter (in my part of the world). I went to my doctor, who suggested I look carefully at cutting out processed foods, and she also gave me some Vitamin D tablets. It turned out I had been eating something regularly that…
  • I literally just finished the DVD a few minutes ago! (still sitting in my pool of sweat). Like everyone else has said, it is a great workout and gets the heartrate up. I searched for averages for calorie burn a while ago, and came up with about 380cal/hour - but remember its really only about 45 or 50 min workout time. I…
  • Hey! I avoid gluten ... it doesn't agree with me ... but I still love it ... so slip ups occur, and I pay the price for it. (No one around here makes a good GF pizza...) I'm fine with dairy, but my sister is both gluten and dairy free, so I understand how difficult it can get! Add me if ya want :-)
  • Go for the choc! ... But like someone already said, make sure you only buy a single serving! I sometimes have to get my boyfriend to buy it for me...otherwise I would buy 5 of ever type of choc available in the store! You could also try other things like make smoothies with cocoa powder in them for a choc flavour. I have a…
  • WOAH! I wish I had access to a store that came even remotely close to that cheap!! I just bought a "Shock Absorber" today for $110 ... hopefully it does the trick. It's been the best I have tried on, and I have been searching for what feels like years! Only taking it out for a run will really prove if it's up to the test!…
  • How do you find the flavour by the end of the week? I have been making 2-days at a time, but not convinced to make any more than that! I also read somewhere that once vegetables are chopped up, they start to lose nutrients even faster ... thoughts anyone? EDIT: haha woops someone else bet me to the same question :ohwell:
  • Managed to almost catch up....1 day (I'm in NZ)....8km to go....Might have to squeeze in an extra walk at lunch time!! EDIT: Ohhhh I just remembered I walked 4km last week that never got logged! Excitement! As long as I walk to and from work tomorrow, I'll make it!
  • Cranking along....this challenge is what reminds me not to catch the bus home after work! 19.32km completed out of 80km total
  • Starting to catch up....13.07KM out of 80KM done....66.9 to go!
  • Ooohhh dear it is really going to be a game of catch-up for me! I am still mostly bed-ridden from surgery, although managed to potter in the garden and kitchen for 45 min each today...I guess thats a start! Can't wait to get back into some exercise but my fiance won't let me off the couch! I guess he's right  I would…
  • Maybe you are pushing yourself a little harder than you can cope with right now? You might be burning yourself out. I can't be the best person to give advice here...I have also been on and off MFP for around 2 years...and my longest log in stretch was only ever 30 days...until this year...I am at 65 days now, but over the…
  • I'm in! It might be tricky due to minor surgery on the 28th March....but I need a goal to make sure I don't let recovery time turn into an excuse. (Don't worry, I've already booked in some recovery time!) Also starting working on 8th April - I'll have less daylight hours than I am used to having at my disposal! A challenge…
  • Bump! I can't always afford to go to Yoga classes, so a nice library of at-home resources is great. I have struggled to find good DVD's or online instruction that I like....this list is looking hopeful though!
  • (Apologies if this doesn't work....I think I've got it though.....fingeres crossed!) Bacon, poached egg and Zucchini (Courgette) breakfast pizza....with a Mayonaise base sauce, and sprinkle of grilled cheese, all grilled on a pita bread.
  • I also have problems with the serving sizes! For 2 years I have been on-and-off-again with MFP with varying successes...but I recently read some advice to log everything by weight....because your bananas and my bananas probably aren't the same! And your idea of a "medium sized" anything will most definitely be different to…
  • I've had the same problem with Corn Thin Crackers....even using the barcode scanner on my iPhone app, I was taken to a bad database entry. It was telling me that each cracker was 100 calories, when I have another brand that each cracker is about 25 calories... Checking the ingredients frantically and boycotting the first…
  • Stayed "in the green" with my sugar intake! Those pesky hidden sugars didn't get me today! And did a 55min workout....after having 99% convinced myself that a 4th day off in a row wouldn't be so bad....take THAT lazy brain! Ka-Blam-O
  • Damn I wish I wrote a reply that sounds as sensible as this! Right now for me, it is still about numbers, but I know that behind that is the goal to be in good habits to maintain...once I get there of course! Perfectionism doesn't suck ... it just sometimes takes a little more effort and time!
  • My goal is to lose 10kg by Christmas! (22lbs) I've been on and off MFP for over 2 years now, and never seemed to get past 2kgs of success! Time for a change so I can enjoy a long hot summer at the beach! (Yep I live in the part of the world that has Christmas in summer - beach BBQ's and back yard cricket are a must have!)
  • For some ridiculous reason I just tormented myself by reading every single post here, and drooling at every one of them! Luckily my partner just finished the last of the coffee in the house before I read them... otherwise I would have definitely stolen it from him! I agree with many people commenting that coffee has many…
  • heh...i bet there are a few of us with the old alcohol and snack issue... Even just 1 glass of wine leads me to unhealthy snacks! Feel free to add me as a friend too :-)
  • Hi! I thought you might be interested in this challenge I am going to try during October, it might help with your goal to cut out the junk food! It's called "October Unprocessed" and the aim is to eat no processed foods - it really gets you looking into the hidden ingredients! The main rule or idea is that if you couldn't…
  • Hi, I used to have a fruit bowl and a teapot at work! Now that I work from home, food is much more enticing, so I keep my teapot close at all times. I find that drinking herbal teas (so no need to sweeten and no caffeine) helps keep me full, warm (in winter), hydrated, and occupied so I think less about eating!
  • I have not had a coffee in 2 months, after drinking it religiously for 12 years, a minimum of 2 coffees a day (unless very sick or hungover haha). I have drunk a lot of green tea, and other herbal teas/infusions as a replacement. You do need to be cautious with teas, as green and black teas still contain caffeine. I have…
  • As I weigh in on Mondays (in my part of the world) it seems I have an extra weigh-in date. It also seems that I was generously easy on myself with my goal weight for these 2-3 weeks that I've been with this challenge! SW: 158.7 (72kg) CW: 158.7 (72kg) GW: 155.5 (70.5kg) NEW GOAL WEIGHT: 153 (69.5kg) (not a huge difference…
  • I know its already mid-month but I hope you don't mind me joining in now! No point in putting this off till next month just to join a thread! SW: 158.7 (72kg) CW: 158.7 (72kg) GW: 155.5 (70.5kg) UGW: 130 (59kg) Weigh in Dates I missed: 8/1 Was probably too busy being a fatty to get on MFP 8/8 Was probably wallowing in…
  • Each to their own really as to what counts as exercise in their own life...maybe they're so unfit that preparing food really is a workout? I hope that is not the case. Personally, I like to remind myself of this saying whenever I am at the gym: "If you still look cute at the end of your workout, you didn't train hard…
  • I often go to the supermarket before work on monday and get some Pita pockets and loads of delicious ingredients to fill them with and keep it all in the fridge at work. Heaps of options and you could get a different meat or dressing for each day (small portions from the deli section) and then it wont be the same flavour…
